Department of Posts offers Special Discount of 7.5 % on Gold Coins on the occasion of Akshya Tritiya

Keeping in mind the heavy demand of India Post Gold Coins, Department of Posts has made special preparation for sale of Gold Coins on the occasion of Akshya Tritiya and Pushya Nakshtra. It is worthwhile to mention here that purchasing gold coins on the day of Akshya Tritiya is considered auspicious.

While talking about these preparations Mr. Krishna Kumar Yadav, Director Postal Services of Allahabad Region told that it has been decided to offer special discounts to customers on purchase of India Post Gold Coins. Under this discount scheme, every customer purchasing Gold Coins from identified Post Offices will be offered a special discount of 7.5% instead of earlier 7%. This special discount will be available only on the occasions of Akshya Tritiya on 13 May, 2013 and Pushya Nakshtra on 15 and 16 May. Whereas the discount of 7% will be offered up to 30 June, 2013.

            To facilitate customers special arrangements have been made for sale of India Post Gold Coins. For sale of Gold Coins separate counters have been started in Allahabad Head Post Office, Allahabad Kutchery Head Post Office and Handia Post Office.

            Mr. Krishna Kumar Yadav told that these coins with India Post logo are of 24 carrot (99.99%) and are made of pure gold and certified by Valcambi, under Swiss certification, and available in tamper- proof packaging, which eliminates the risk of duplication. These Gold Coins have the benefits like internationally recognized certification, low risk of duplication, quality packaging, product standardization, and numbering and assayer certificate. For the convenience of different income groups these coins are being offered in many denominations. Gold Coins 0.5 grams, 1 gram, 5 gram, 8 gram, 10 gram, 20 gram and 50 grams will be available for sale at identified Post Offices.

            Director Mr. Krishna Kumar Yadav told that 935 post offices across the country are selling gold coins out of which in Uttar Pradesh there are 82 post offices and in Allahabad Region 11 post offices. in Allahabad Region other than, Allahabad Head Post Office, Allahabad Kutchery Post Office, and Handia Post Office, these coins will be sold through 11 Post Offices including Pratapgarh Head Post Office, Mirzapur Head Post Office, Obra and Shakti Nagar Post Offices, Jaunpur Head Post Office, Ghazipur Head Post Office, Varanasi Head Post Office, Varanasi Cant Head Post Office.
