International Money transfer at Post Office can fetch you a gift

Now it is even more tempting to receive money remitted from foreign countries at Post Offices. Now whenever your relatives, residing in foreign countries, send you money, visit the nearest identified Post Office, there not only you will receive you money conveniently, you will be presented an assured gift by the Post Office. This information was provided by Director Postal Services, Allahabad Region Mr. Krishna Kumar Yadav.
           
           
Mr. Krishna Kumar Yadav, Director Postal Services said that Department of Posts has started this special scheme in collaboration with Western Union Services India Private Ltd. as a consumer promotion initiative for customers who receive their foreign remittances through Post Office. This scheme will be operational upto 30 September, and under this scheme every time a customer visits Post office to collect his foreign remittance he will be given an assured gift. Mr. Yadav further added that other than these assured gifts customers will have the opportunity to enter in lucky draw and win mobile handsets.
           
It is worthwhile to mention here that for more than a decade Postal Department is providing their customers the facility to receive remittances from foreign countries under the Western Union International Money Transfer Service. Director Postal services Mr. K. K. Yadav told that this facility is available in 7100 Post offices across the country. While out of 10 districts of Allahabad region this service is being offered at 97 identified Post Offices. In Allahabad District itself, other than Allahabad and Allahabad Kutchery Head Post offices, this facility is available in Handia, Allahabad City (Johnstenganj), C. Lines (Teliyarganj), GTB Nagar, High Court, Bahadurganj, Fafamau, Atrampur, Sirathu, Daraganj, Mutthiganj, Lalgopalganj, Soraon, and Saidabad Post Offices.
           
Director Mr. Krishna Kumar Yadav said that in the financial year 2012-13, 15231 transactions were made in Allahabad region, out of which the share of Allahabad Postal Division was the highest i.e. 4992 transactions. He also mentioned that most of the inbound remittances are sent by Non- resident Indians residing in Gulf Countries like Saudi Arab, United Arab Emirates etc.
