Project Arrow aims to give Post Offices a makeover

With the purpose to create awareness among the Postmasters of Project Arrow Post Offices about new technologies, changing work-scenario and to enhance their understanding about Customer-care a one-day workshop was organised on 8th September, 2013 at Civil lines Allahabad GPO for Allahabad Division. The workshop was inaugurated by Mr. Krishna Kumar Yadav, Director Postal Services, Allahabad Region. The workshop was attended by 73 Postmasters and Assistant Superintendents of Posts Offices/ Inspector of Post Offices, who were updated about the latest and upcoming changes and new postal services through Power Point Presentation.
   While addressing the programme as Chief Guest Mr. Krishna Kumar Yadav, Director Postal Services, Allahabad Region said that “Project arrow” is a very ambitious project of Department of Posts with a objective of changing the image of Post offices in all aspects. He added that department is emphasizing on its core service i.e. prompt delivery under “project arrow”. This project covers delivery and dispatch of all type of mails whether it is ordinary, Registered, Money orders, Speed post Articles is being ensured on the same day; Timely clearance of Letter Boxes; rationalization of delivery Beat and dense monitoring of delivery to make it more effective. Similarly the Savings Bank work is also being computerized completely to avoid delay caused of manual working. Director Mr. Krishna Kumar Yadav also told that all the Post offices of Urban as well as rural area will soon be a part of “Core Banking Solution” and the depositors of Post office will be able to take advantage of facilities like Net-banking, Mobile banking and ATM. It will be a revolutionary step in the field of banking.

Director Postal Services Sri Krishna Kumar Yadav addressed Postmasters and told them that their activities in field create an image of department, so they have to be more courteous and responsive for customer. In this era of competition we just cannot sit idle to earn business instead of that we have to approach customers, we have to interact with them about our services and to make them aware of our different services, by this way only we can reach to our goal.
Mr. Yadav appealed to the Postmasters to ensure opening of at least one savings deposit/ recurring deposit account in each family through special drive. He also asked them to increase number of Postal Life Insurance and Rural Postal Life Insurance policies by organizing Dak-Melas in the campus of Government and semi Govt departments.
Sr. Superintendent of Post Offices, Allahabad Dn. Mr. Rahmatullah said that all the postal services are being monitored regularly under project arrow scheme and the improvement caused of it will definitely be helpful to the customers for getting modernized services of postal department. The work of branch offices located in remote areas will be more transparent in account with the post offices transformed under project arrow.
On this occasion a number of officers and employee including Mr. T.B. Singh Asst. Director, Mr. M.P. Mishra Sr. Postmaster Allahabad GPO, Mr. Deepak Kumar Inspector Posts (Project Arrow), Mr. R. N. Yadav ASP (HQ) Allahabad Dn. etc. were present.
