Jodhpur Postal Region procured highest Postal Life insurance premium in Rajasthan

Jodhpur Postal Region has  procured the highest Postal Life insurance and Rural Postal life insurance premium of Rs. 1.30 billion in Rajasthan State for the financial year 2015-16, with a surge of over 20 % from last year's PLI premium. It includes Rs. 957.9 million in PLI and Rs. 350.6 million in RPLI.

Mr. Krishna Kumar Yadav, Director Postal Services, Rajasthan Western Region, Jodhpur said that usually Postal Department is known for handling of letters, but we are  also working in the field of Life Insurance for a long time and constantly  achieving new milestones in this field. Started on 1 February, 1884, Postal Life Insurance is India’s oldest insurance service. Postal Department has also introduced Rural Postal Life Insurance in 1995, for people in rural areas. Postal Life Insurance offers six schemes- ‘Suraksha’, ‘Santosh’, ‘Suwidha’, ‘Yugal Suraksha’, ‘Sumangal’, and Children Policy. Under this scheme employees of only government, semi-government and government owned institutions are eligible, said Yadav.

Director Postal Services, Mr. KK Yadav said that Postal Department is dedicated to provide better services to it's customers. To ensure maximum coverage, villages are being identified in rural areas of all Postal Divisions and they are being covered as Rural Postal Life Insurance Village, whereas in cities important organizations are being identified as Postal Life Insurance Organizations.
