India Post delivered COVID-19 testing kit to SGPGI Lucknow

At a time when almost everything is under lock down, Postal department has come out as a "messenger of God" as it is delivering at the door step medicines and testing kits for COVID-19 apart from other essential commodities.  Due to Lock down most of the means of transport across the country are stopped and courier companies have also surrendered. In such a situation, Department of Posts is playing important role in door to door delivery of essential Services.
Director Postal Services, Lucknow HQ Region Mr. Krishna Kumar Yadav said that medicines and life saving equipment are being booked and delivered through Post offices across the country. In this sequence, the testing Kits of Covid-19 were also delivered through the Post office in Lucknow for the first time in Uttar Pradesh.

Director Mr.Krishna Kumar Yadav informed that Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences (SGPGI), Lucknow wrote a letter to the Department of Posts requesting to make arrangements for transportation of Covid-19 testing kits from National Institute of Malaria Research (NIMR)-Dwarka, New Delhi to the SGPGI, Lucknow. India Post, take quick action and booked these Kits at New Delhi and deliver them to SGPGI in Lucknow just in 18 hours.

Senior Superintendent of Post Offices, Lucknow Division, Mr. Alok Ojha said that these Kits were safely delivered to SGPGI at 5:30 AM on 8th, April. These Kits were brought under Cold Chain System from New Delhi to Lucknow.
Director Postal Services, Lucknow HQ Region Mr. KK Yadav said that at present, booking and delivery of medicines and medical equipment are being done by the Department of Posts on a priority basis. e-Commerce companies such as Netmeds and Indian Drugs Manufacturing Association are sending medicines from Capital Lucknow to across the country. India Post is discharging its role in door to door delivery of essential services in remote areas with full devotion.
