Various programs were organized by the Department of Posts on 9th October 2021 on the occasion of 'World Post Day' and inaugural of 'National Postal Week'. Postmaster General Shri Krishna Kumar Yadav flagged off the public awareness rally on World Post Day from Varanasi Cantt Head Post Office. During this, postal employees were carrying placards of various postal services in their hands to make the public aware about it. In this sequence, a friendly cricket match was also played between the postal employees. Teams from Varanasi (East) Division, Varanasi (West) Division and Regional Office, Varanasi participated in a friendly cricket match held at Multipurpose Ground, Varanasi Cantt, in which the team of Varanasi (West) Division won the trophy. Women Postal employees also participated in the cricket match to give the message of 'Prosperous Sukanya, Prosperous Society'. Postmaster General Shri Krishna Kumar Yadav honored the captain of the winning team Sri RK Chauhan, Assistant Superintendent, Varanasi West. Shri Nand lal was declared as Player of the Tournament. During the award ceremony Postmaster General emphasized on team work and adopting sports in their lifestyle for a healthy life.
On this occasion, the Postmaster General Shri Krishna Kumar Yadav said that, this year the theme of World Post Day is 'Innovation to Recover'. Department of Posts is one of the oldest departments in the country. Department of Posts has continuously created new dimensions with innovation, changing its services and nature with time and demand. Accepting the challenges in the unprecedented situation of Covid-19 pandemic, postal employees played a new role as Corona Warriors. Apart from providing all the services on the door step, nowadays the Postal Department is also playing a vital role in banking, insurance services, DBT payments etc. A symbol of unwavering faith, public service, credibility in the common man, the postal department often knocks on every door even today. During the National Postal Week, special campaigns will be organized at various levels to achieve the goal of financial inclusion by connecting the general public with Post office schemes.
During this, Senior Superintendent Post Office Varanasi East Division Rajan, Superintendent of Post Office, Varanasi West Division Krishna Chandra, Assistant Director Ram Milan, Senior Postmaster Chandrashekhar Barua, Assistant Superintendent Ajay Kumar, RK Chauhan, Pankaj Kumar, Inspector Posts Shrikant Pal, Viswambhar Nath Dwivedi, Shashikant Kannojia , Indrajeet Pal, Shashi Bhushan, Naresh Bara, Assistant Accounts Officer Santoshi Rai, Public Relations Inspector Anil Sharma, Rajendra Yadav, Sriprakash Gupta, Abhilasha, Ajita, Manju, Diksha, Shravan Kumar, Manish Kumar, Umang Shukla, Sarvesh, Ramchandra, Bhupendra, Narendra, Pankaj Kumar and other postal officials were also present.
