For environmental protection, we have to get rid of plastic along with taking effective steps like plantation. Plastic fragments release toxic chemicals into the environment and are extremely lethal to humans and animals. In such a situation, we have to make people aware of environmental protection to keep the whole earth and nature safe and balanced. The above statement was expressed by the Postmaster General of Varanasi Region Shri Krishna Kumar Yadav in a program organized by the Department of Posts on 'World Environment Day'. Head Post Office, Varanasi, premises, drawing attention to the increasing plastic pollution in the environment and the anomalies arising due to it, he also called upon every Postal Employees to be a partner in its solution.
Postmaster General Shri Krishna Kumar Yadav said that the Department of Posts has always been associated with social concerns. Various initiatives have been taken from time to time to keep the environment clean and to make people aware about it. People who are using plastic need to be encouraged to think of alternative methods. Making environmental protection an integral part of our life, there is a need to connect it with our lifestyle and routine.
Shri Hemant Kumar, Superintendent of Post Offices, Varanasi (West) Division, said that only by considering environmental protection as the basic element of life, we can find possibilities of getting rid of problems like environmental pollution. In such a situation, it is the responsibility of every person to plant a tree.
On this occasion Assistant Director Brajesh Sharma, Ram Milan, Assistant Superintendent of Post Offices R.K. Chauhan, Masoom Rashdi, Ajay Kumar, Inspector of Posts Dilip Pandey, Postmaster of Cantt. पर्यावरण संरक्षण के लिए पौधारोपण जैसे प्रभावी कदम उठाने के साथ-साथ प्लास्टिक से छुटकारा भी पाना है। प्लास्टिक के टुकड़े पर्यावरण में जहरीले रसायनों को छोड़ते हैं और मनुष्यों व जानवरों के लिए बेहद घातक हैं। ऐसे में सम्पूर्ण धरा और प्रकृति को सुरक्षित व संतुलित रखने हेतु हमें पर्यावरण संरक्षण के प्रति लोगों को सजग बनाना होगा। उक्त उद्गार वाराणसी परिक्षेत्र के पोस्टमास्टर जनरल श्री कृष्ण कुमार यादव ने 'विश्व पर्यावरण दिवस' पर डाक विभाग द्वारा आयोजित कार्यक्रम में व्यक्त किये। वाराणसी कैण्ट प्रधान डाकघर परिसर में उन्होंने पौधारोपण करते हुए पर्यावरण में बढ़ रहे प्लास्टिक प्रदूषण और उसके चलते पैदा हो रही विसंगतियों की ओर ध्यान आकर्षित करके हर डाककर्मी से इसके समाधान में भागीदार बनने का भी आह्वान किया।
पोस्टमास्टर जनरल श्री कृष्ण कुमार यादव ने कहा कि, डाक विभाग सदैव से सामाजिक सरोकारों से जुड़ा हुआ है। पर्यावरण को स्वच्छ रखने और इसके प्रति लोगों को जागरूक करने हेतु समय-समय पर तमाम पहल की गई हैं। प्लास्टिक का इस्तेमाल करने वाले लोगों को इसके वैकल्पिक तरीकों के बारे में सोचने के लिए प्रोत्साहित किये जाने की जरूरत है। पर्यावरण संरक्षण को अपने जीवन का अभिन्न अंग बनाते हुए अपनी जीवन पद्धति और दिनचर्या से जोड़ने की जरुरत है।
वाराणसी पश्चिमी मंडल के अधीक्षक डाकघर श्री हेमंत कुमार ने कहा कि पर्यावरण संरक्षण को जीवन का आधारभूत तत्त्व मानकर ही हम पर्यावरण प्रदूषण जैसी समस्याओं से मुक्ति की संभावनाएं खोज सकते हैं। ऐसे में हर व्यक्ति की यह जिम्मेदारी है कि वह एक पौधा अवश्य लगाए।
