Prasad of Kashi at your door-step by Speed Post

ALLAHABAD: Shiv 'bhakt' (devotees) have reason to be happy as, if for any reason they are unable to visit and pay obeisance to their Lord Shiva on the auspicious occasion of Maha Shivratri, the department of Posts, will help deliver the 'prasad' (offering) of Lord Vishwanath from the historic Kashi Vishwanath temple at Varanasi at their doorstep.
Sharing details of the novel initiative with TOI, Krishna Kumar Yadav director Postal Services, Allahabad region said as per an agreement between Kashi Vishwanath Mandir Trust and department of Posts, the 'prasad' of Kashi Vishwanath Mandir will now be made available at home by Post. Under the scheme, one needs to send a money order of Rs 60/- to Senior Superintendent of Post offices, Varanasi (East) Division and receive in return 'bhabhuti' (holy ash) of the Mandir, a 'Rudraksh', a laminated photo of Lord Shiva and Shiv Chalisha as 'Prasad' sent by Kashi Vishwanath Mandir Trust.
As per legend, Varanasi is the city of Lord Shiva, and Kashi Vishwnath Mandir is a prime spot of religious attraction.
Yadav said besides from Kashi Vishwanath Mandir, 'prasad' of the renowned Shri Mahakaleshwar Jyotirling Mandir, Ujjain can also be ordered by post. To avail this facility you will have to send a Money order of Rs 151/- to Prashashak (Administrator), Shri Mahakaleshwar Mandir Prabandhan Committee and in return 'prasad' will be sent by Speed Post. The prasad pack contains 200 gms of dry fruit, 200 gm laddu, 'bhabhuti' and a photo of Lord Shri Mahakaleshwar.
He added that the 'prasad' is sent to the customers in water proof envelopes through Speed Post to ensure safety and purity in transit.
