India Post announces Photography Competition for Stamps on Independence day : 'Gandhian Heritage in Modern India'

If you are fond of photography, then the original photograph taken by you can also be depicted on the Postal stamp on Independence Day. Mr. Krishna Kumar Yadav, Director Postal Services, Lucknow Headquarter Region, informed that for this Independence Day-2019, the Department of Posts has announced a Photography Competition on title ‘Gandhian Heritage in Modern India’ whose deadline is 30th June, 2019. Any citizen of India of any age can participate in this contest. The winner entries will be considered for use on postage stamps and other Philatelic materials. 
Director Postal Services, Mr. Krishna Kumar Yadav said that Rupees 50,000, 25,000 and 10,000 will be given as the first, second and third prize respectively at the National level. In addition to this, five consolation prizes of Rupees 5,000 will also be given. The result will be declared on 15th August, 2019.

Director Postal Services, Mr. Krishna Kumar Yadav informed that each participant can send only one entry on standard photographic paper of A4 size alongwith the soft copy of his/her entry in a CD with an undertaking stating that ‘The photograph submitted is original and no copyright issues are involved’ with this “sole entry”. The entries should be addressed to ADG (Philately), Room No. 108, Dak Bhawan, Parliament Street, New Delhi-110001 and it can be sent through ‘Speed Post’ only upto 30th June, 2019. Name, Age, Gender, Nationality, Full residential address with PIN code, Phone/Mobile Number & e-mail ID, Date and details of the image depicted in the Photo and Equipment details through which photo is clicked viz. Camera Model must be written legibly on the reverse side of the entries. Participants must mention "Independence Day-2019 - Photography Competition" on the envelope in which the entry is sent.
