रेडियो (Radio) सिर्फ एक संचार का माध्यम ही नहीं, बल्कि आधुनिक भारत की विकास यात्रा का गवाह भी है। संचार के तमाम साधनों ने भले ही रेडियो की अहमियत को कम कर दिया हो, पर एक दौर में रेडियो सुनने के लिए भी लाइसेंस लेना पड़ता था।
उस दौर में बिना लाइसेंस के रेडियो कार्यक्रमों को सुनना कानूनी अपराध माना जाता था और आरोपी को वायरलेस टेलीग्राफी एक्ट 1933 के अंतर्गत दंडित किए जाने का भी प्रावधान था। 1980 के बाद रेडियो लाइसेंस का यह नियम खत्म कर दिया गया।
