India’s first 3D-printed Post office inaugurated in Bengaluru : Cambridge Layout Post Office (PIN Code 560008)

India’s First 3D Printed Post Office-Cambridge Layout Post Office (PIN Code 560008) inaugurated in Bengaluru on 18th August. The Post office was built up in 43 days only, using 3D concrete printing technology wherein a robotic printer deposits the concrete layer by layer as per the approved design, and special grade concrete – which hardens quickly – is used to ensure bonding between the layers for the purpose of printing the structure. According to the developers, this technology can play an important role in the provision of accessible housing of high quality in the future.

जब भी प्रिंटर की बात होती है तो हमारे मन में किसी पेज में फोटो कॉपी करने या फिर दूसरे तरह के डिजाइन प्रिंट करने का ही ख्याल आता है। लेकिन, क्या आपने कभी सोचा है कि प्रिंटर के माध्यम से कोई बिल्डिंग या फिर घर भी बनाया जा सकता है !

भारत ने इसमें एक बड़ी उपलब्धि हासिल कर ली है। देश में 3D प्रिंटिंग टेक्नोलॉजी की मदद से मात्र 43 दिनों में एक पोस्ट ऑफिस की बिल्डिंग को बनाया गया है । केंद्रीय संचार मंत्री श्री अश्विनी वैष्णव  ने 18 अगस्त, 2023 को बेंगलुरु में 3डी प्रिंटिंग तकनीक से निर्मित भारत के पहले पोस्ट ऑफिस का उद्घाटन किया. प्रधानमंत्री श्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने इस पोस्ट ऑफिस को लेकर ट्वीट कर कहा कि भारतीयों को देश के पहले 3D प्रिंटेड पोस्ट ऑफिस पर गर्व होगा. 

आर्किटेक्चर के क्षेत्र में 3D प्रिंटिंग का इस्तेमाल करना बेहद नया कॉन्सेप्ट है। बिल्डिंग बनाने के लिए एक बड़े साइज का रोबोटिक कंक्रीट प्रिंटर का साइट पर इस्तेमाल किया जाता है। रोबोटिक प्रिंटर इसमें कंक्रीट की परत दर परत जमा करता है जिससे दीवार बनाई जाती है। इस टेक्नोलॉजी में कंप्यूटर में बिल्डिंग डिजाइन सेट कर दिया जाता है और फिर सिर्फ कमांड देनी होती है और 3D प्रिंटर डिजाइन के मुताबिक बिल्डिंग तैयार कर देता है।

गौरतलब है कि, बेंगलुरु शहर के कैंब्रिज लेआउट में 1 हजार 21 वर्ग फुट क्षेत्र में निर्मित पोस्ट ऑफिस के उद्घाटन के बाद यहां अब कामकाज शुरू हो जाएगा. डाकघर का निर्माण लार्सन एंड टूब्रो लिमिटेड ने किया है, जबकि आईआईटी मद्रास ने इसके लिए टेक्निकल सपोर्ट दिया है. डाकघर को बनाने में 45 दिन का समय लगा है. 

प्रधानमंत्री श्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने कहा, "हर भारतीय को बेंगलुरु के कैंब्रिज लेआउट में बने भारत के पहले 3डी प्रिंटेड डाकघर को देखकर गर्व होगा. यह हमारे देश के इनोवेशन और तरक्की का सबूत है. यह आत्मनिर्भर भारत की भावना का भी प्रतीक है. इसे बनाने में कड़ी मेहनत करने वालों को बधाई. डाकघर का काम पूरा हो गया." पीएम मोदी ने इसकी तस्वीरें भी शेयर कीं. 

वहीं, केंद्रीय संचार मंत्री श्री अश्विनी वैष्णव ने डाकघर का उद्घाटन करते हुए कहा, "विकास की भावना, अपनी तकनीक विकसित करने की भावना, कुछ ऐसा करने की भावना जिसे पहले के समय में असंभव माना जाता था. यही इस समय की परिभाषित विशेषता है. पूरा निर्माण लगभग छह से आठ महीने की तुलना में 45 दिनों के अंदर पूरा हुआ है."

यूनिवर्सल पोस्टल यूनियन ने भी भारतीय डाक विभाग की इस नवीनतम टेक्नालॉजी और नवाचार की सराहना की है.

Raksha Bandhan with India Post : Missing their celebration to ensure your Rakhi reaches without delay

Over 70 postal delivery executives at Lucknow’s General Post Office (GPO) including ‘dakiyas (postal delivery personnel)’ are leaving no stone unturned to ensure that each ‘rakhi’ reaches its intended ‘kalai (wrist)’ on time.

Since starting their day at 9 am, these postal delivery executives segregate each rakhi parcel according to the area and then set out to deliver the ‘rakhi’ parcel – a process that continues till 5 pm.

“These ‘dakiyas’ display exemplary commitment and spend the whole day delivering ‘rakhi’ on priority basis to ensure that all the parcels reach their destinations on time,” said Sushil Kumar Tiwari, chief postmaster, GPO Lucknow.

“It’s been a long time since I celebrated Raksha Bandhan with my sister    as we are deployed on special duty. So, we don’t deliver any other items but focus on delivering only rakhis,” said Sunil Kumar, 29. Kumar said for eight years he hardly got time to visit his sister in Etawah due to work commitments, which increase during occasions like ‘Raksha Bandhan.’

Many ‘dakiyas’ even work beyond their official 9 am to 5 pm time to ensure that all rakhis are delivered.

“I have not been able to celebrate the festival for past three years as workload on Raksha Bandhan is much more and then people too have lots of expectations from us,” said a 30-year-old postman from Etawah.

“Delivering rakhis on time and seeing the joy in the eyes of the receiver makes us happy. At times the receiver’s joy is all the more when the parcels are delivered at the last minute. People thank us profusely and this means a lot to us,” said Shri Prakash, 30, who said he hardly gets time to be with his Lakhimpur Kheri-based sister.

At times, women ‘dakiyas’ tie rakhi to their male colleagues to ensure that they don’t miss being with their sisters and vice versa.

“We’re delivering more rakhis than before because to date it is the cheapest mode of delivering the rakhi parcels,” said Narendra Pal, 57, one of the oldest ‘dakiya’ at GPO, who has been working since 1989.

The women ‘dakiyas’ who too are there in big numbers at GPO, Lucknow said they enjoy the festival too by tying rakhis on the wrists of their male colleagues. “We tie rakhi to our male colleagues who are not able to go home. We work together and hence do not let them be sad,” said Laxmi Dhasmana, a postwoman.

“We are delighted when we see faces beaming with joy on receiving rakhis,” said Laxmi’s colleague Archana Srivastava.

“Women colleagues who are like sisters tie rakhi to us to ensure that we don’t miss our sisters on the festival,” said Deepak Soni, from Gonda.

Department of Posts made Special arrangement for Raksha Bandhan Festival, 1.76 lakh Rakhi mails delivered from Post Offices in Varanasi Region

In the hi-tech society, the importance of silk threads of Rakhi is still intact amidst the virtual relationships. The Postal Department made all the arrangements for this festival including launch of waterproof designer envelopes for sending Rakhi, special sorting and delivery of Rakhi mails till late evening. Postal Officials are leaving no stone unturned to ensure that each ‘rakhi’ reaches its intended ‘kalai (wrist)’ on time. “These ‘dakiyas’ display exemplary commitment and spend the whole day delivering ‘rakhi’ on priority basis to ensure that all the Rakhi mails reach their destinations on time,” said Mr. Krishna Kumar Yadav, Postmaster General of Varanasi Region.

Postmaster General of Varanasi Region Mr. Krishna Kumar Yadav said that more than 1.15 lakh Rakhi mails were sent to the various parts of country and even abroad, while 1.76 lakh Rakhi mails were delivered by the Post Offices in Varanasi Region. Special arrangements have been made for prompt processing of Rakhi mails from the booking to delivery point. On August 30, about 23 thousand Rakhi mails were delivered by the Post Offices in Varanasi Region.

Postmaster General Mr. Krishna Kumar Yadav said that the importance of Raksha Bandhan was seen not only in India but also in foreign countries. 1,125 rakhis were sent by Speed Post and Registered Letter from Post Offices of Varanasi Region to countries like USA, UK, Singapore, UAE, Germany, Saudi Arabia, France, New Zealand, Australia, South Africa, Canada, Oman etc. At the same time, sisters living abroad also sent Rakhis to their brothers through the Postal Department, which were delivered immediately through postmen. “Delivering rakhis on time and seeing the joy in the eyes of the receiver makes us happy. At times the receiver’s joy is all the more when the Rakhi mails are delivered at the last minute. People thank Post Office profusely and this means a lot to us,” said Postmaster General Mr. Yadav.

Along with booking of Rakhi mail, special arrangements were made by the Postal Department for special sorting and their quick delivery from Post Offices. The Department of Posts, which has been spreading happiness through letters, has also given a new dimension to this festival of relationships, added Mr. Yadav.

हाईटेक समाज में वर्चुअल होते रिश्तों के बीच राखी के रेशम धागों की अहमियत अभी भी बरकरार है। डाक विभाग ने भी इस त्यौहार को लेकर तमाम तैयारियाँ की। डाक विभाग ने जहाँ राखी भेजने हेतु वाटरप्रूफ डिजायनर लिफाफे की व्यवस्था की, वहीं देर शाम तक डाकिया लोगों की राखी-डाक वितरित करते रहे, ताकि किसी भाई की कलाई सूनी न रह जाये। लोगों ने अपनी ख़ुशी का इजहार डाक विभाग को शुक्रिया कहकर किया। वाराणसी परिक्षेत्र के पोस्टमास्टर जनरल श्री कृष्ण कुमार यादव ने बताया कि वाराणसी परिक्षेत्र के डाकघरों से 1.15 लाख से ज्यादा राखियाँ देश-विदेश में भेजी गईं, वहीं देश-विदेश से प्राप्त 1.76 लाख राखी डाक का वितरण यहाँ डाकघरों द्वारा किया गया। रक्षाबंधन के लिए डाक वितरण के विशेष प्रबंध किए गए। अकेले 30 अगस्त को लगभग 23 हजार राखी डाक का वितरण वाराणसी परिक्षेत्र के डाकघरों द्वारा लोगों को किया गया।   

पोस्टमास्टर जनरल श्री कृष्ण कुमार यादव ने कहा कि रक्षाबंधन की महत्ता सिर्फ भारत में ही नहीं अपितु विदेशों में भी खूब देखी गई। संयुक्त राज्य अमेरिका, ब्रिटेन, सिंगापुर, संयुक्त अरब अमीरात, जर्मनी, सऊदी अरब, फ़्रांस, न्यूजीलैंड, ऑस्ट्रेलिया, दक्षिण अफ्रीका, कनाडा, ओमान इत्यादि तमाम देशों में 1,125 राखी डाक स्पीड पोस्ट और रजिस्टर्ड पत्र द्वारा वाराणसी परिक्षेत्र के डाकघरों से भेजी गईं। वहीं विदेशों में रह रही बहनों ने भी अपने भाइयों को डाक विभाग के माध्यम से राखी भेजा, जिन्हें डाकिया के माध्यम से तुरंत वितरित कराया गया।

पोस्टमास्टर जनरल श्री कृष्ण कुमार यादव ने कहा कि डाक विभाग ने राखी डाक की बुकिंग के साथ-साथ स्पेशल सॉर्टिंग और इनके त्वरित वितरण हेतु डाकघरों से लेकर रेलवे मेल सर्विस और सॉर्टिंग हब तक में विशेष प्रबंध किये। आज भी डाक अपना संदेश भेजने का सबसे सरल और सुलभ माध्यम है, ऐसे में रक्षाबंधन पर ज्यादातर राखियां डाक से ही भेजी जाती हैं। चिट्ठियों के माध्यम से खुशियां बिखेरते रहने वाले डाक विभाग ने रिश्तों के इस त्यौहार को भी एक नया आयाम दिया है।

India Post released a stamp on 'Culture Working Group' at the G-20 Culture Ministers' Meeting in Varanasi, commemorating the campaign ‘Culture Unites All’

Department of Posts released a customized My stamp on 'Culture Working Group' at the G-20 Culture Ministers' Meeting in Varanasi, commemorating the campaign ‘Culture Unites All’, which was an initiative of the Culture Working Group under India’s G20 Presidency. Postmaster General of Varanasi Region Shri Krishna Kumar Yadav, presented the first set of stamps to Union Culture & Tourism Minister Shri G. Kishan Reddy. The stamp was released in the dignified presence of Union Minister for Culture & Parliamentary Affairs Shri Arjun Ram Meghwal, Union Minister of State for External Affairs & Culture Smt. Meenakshi Lekhi, Secretary of Ministry of Culture Shri Govind Mohan, Director General ASI Shri Kishore K. Basa and cultural ministers of various countries on 26th August, 2023. 

Union Minister of Culture & Tourism Shri G. Kishan Reddy while appreciating the customized stamp released by the Department of Posts says that a stamp offers a visual anecdote of the sender’s country to the recipients’, facilitating a cultural exchange and establishing cultural context. This stamp, an idea motif to represent the vision of “Culture Unites All”.  As an iconic cultural symbol, this stamp issued on the Culture Working Group is an effort to strengthen our cultural spirit and tie global relations together.

Postmaster General Shri Krishna Kumar Yadav told that this My Stamp is a tribute to the campaign, celebrating the power of culture in fostering collaboration and mutual respect through its thoughtfully crafted design & symbolism. Based on the theme 'Culture Unites All', 5,000 sheets including 60,000 stamps of this customized stamp have been printed.

In addition to this, Postmaster General Shri Krishna Kumar Yadav told that the ‘Culture Unites All’ stamp has been crafted as a distinctive emblem. On the left side, worli art figurines in white, against terracotta backdrop, the color of earth. United in a circle, the figures pose joining hands, indicating strength and interconnectedness. Adjacent to it on the right, a circle of indigo with a swirl of white alluding to circularity, reflecting the eco centric concepts of reduce, reuse and recycle. On the whole, this thoughtful design spotlights the idea of ‘Culture for Life’, (lifestyle for environment) for a cleaner, greener and bluer future for all.

It is worthy to mention that in 4th meeting of the G-20 Culture Working Group held in Varanasi, 170 representatives of various international organizations participated along with G-20 countries as well as nine invited countries. It aims to achieve effective results by placing culture at the centre of policy-making. In this, a stamp was issued in order to convey the message of solidarity through cultures. In this meeting, discussions were held on conservation and restoration of cultural property, use of existing heritage for a sustainable future, promotion of economy through cultural alliance, benefits of digital technology in saving culture, etc.
