Department of Posts to organize the 55th Universal Postal Union International Letter Writing Competition – Postmaster General Krishna Kumar Yadav

भारतीय डाक विभाग द्वारा पत्र लेखन विधा को प्रोत्साहित करने के लिए प्रति वर्ष 'यूनिवर्सल पोस्टल यूनियन अंतरराष्ट्रीय पत्र लेखन प्रतियोगिता' का आयोजन 9 से 15 साल तक के बच्चों के लिए किया जाता है। इस संबंध में जानकारी देते हुए उत्तर गुजरात परिक्षेत्र, अहमदाबाद के पोस्टमास्टर जनरल श्री कृष्ण कुमार यादव ने बताया कि भारतीय डाक विभाग स्कूली छात्रों के बीच रचनात्मकता, आलोचनात्मक सोच और पत्र लेखन की कला को बढ़ावा देने के लिए यूनिवर्सल पोस्टल यूनियन (यूपीयू) की एक वार्षिक वैश्विक पहल के तहत युवाओं के लिए 55वीं यूपीयू अंतरराष्ट्रीय पत्र लेखन प्रतियोगिता-2026 का आयोजन करने जा रहा है। पत्र-लेखन का विषय है: "डिजिटल दुनिया में मानवीय जुड़ाव क्यों मायने रखता है, इस बारे में अपने किसी मित्र को पत्र लिखें।" पत्र हिंदी, अंग्रेजी या संविधान की आठवीं सूची में निर्दिष्ट किसी भी भाषा में 800 शब्दों की सीमा में लिखना होगा।

पोस्टमास्टर जनरल श्री कृष्ण कुमार यादव ने बताया कि प्रतियोगिता हेतु प्रविष्टियाँ भेजने की अन्तिम तिथि 13 मार्च, 2026 है। इच्छुक विद्यार्थी अपने विद्यालय के माध्यम से (जन्मतिथि सत्यापित करवाते हुए) निर्धारित आवेदन-पत्र (दो प्रतियों में) पासपोर्ट आकार की तीन नवीनतम फोटो साथ लगाकर संबंधित डाक अधीक्षक/प्रवर अधीक्षक को भेज सकते हैं। प्रतियोगिता हेतु आवेदन करने का प्रारूप सम्बन्धित प्रवर अधीक्षक/अधीक्षक कार्यालय से प्राप्त किया जा सकता है, हालांकि सभी मण्डलीय अधीक्षकों को व्यापक प्रचार व विभिन्न स्कूलों को प्रारूप उपलब्ध कराने के निर्देश दिये गये हैं। यदि विभिन्न स्कूलों-कालेजों के प्रधानाचार्य चाहें तो उक्त प्रतियोगिता डाक विभाग से मिलकर अपने स्तर पर भी स्वतंत्र रूप से करा सकते हैं। डाक विभाग प्रतियोगी प्रविष्टियों को उनसे एकत्र कर परिमंडलीय कार्यालय, गुजरात को भेजेगा।

पोस्टमास्टर जनरल श्री कृष्ण कुमार यादव ने बताया कि पत्र लेखन प्रतियोगिता का मूल्यांकन परिमण्डलीय स्तर पर गुजरात में किया जायेगा तथा श्रेष्ठ तीन पत्र लेखन को राष्ट्रीय स्तर पर सम्मिलित करने हेतु डाक निदेशालय, नई दिल्ली भेजा जायेगा। इसमें राज्य या परिमंडल स्तर पर चयनित शीर्ष तीन प्रतिभागियों को क्रमशः प्रथम, द्वितीय एवं तृतीय पुरस्कार के रूप में ₹25,000, ₹10,000 एवं ₹5,000 की पुरस्कार राशि प्रमाणपत्र सहित प्रदान की जाएगी। वहीं, राष्ट्रीय स्तर पर प्रथम, द्वितीय एवं तृतीय पुरस्कार के रूप में ₹50,000, ₹25,000 एवं ₹10,000 की पुरस्कार राशि प्रमाणपत्र सहित प्रदान की जाएगी। अंतरराष्ट्रीय स्तर पर यूनिवर्सल पोस्टल यूनियन (यूपीयू) द्वारा प्रथम, द्वितीय एवं तृतीय पुरस्कार के रूप में स्वर्ण, रजत एवं कांस्य पदक, प्रमाणपत्र तथा अन्य आकर्षक पुरस्कार प्रदान किए जाएंगे। इसके अतिरिक्त, स्वर्ण पदक विजेता को यूपीयू मुख्यालय, बर्न (स्विट्ज़रलैंड) की यात्रा का अवसर अथवा यूपीयू द्वारा निर्धारित कोई अन्य विशेष पुरस्कार भी प्रदान किया जायेगा ।

पोस्टमास्टर जनरल श्री कृष्ण कुमार यादव ने बताया कि डिजिटल क्रांति के इस युग में, जहाँ संदेश क्षण भर में एक स्थान से दूसरे स्थान तक पहुँच जाते हैं, वहाँ पत्र लेखन का महत्व आज भी बना हुआ है। पत्र लिखना हमें ठहरकर सोचने और अपने विचारों को संयम एवं संवेदनशीलता के साथ व्यक्त करने का अवसर प्रदान करता है। हाथ से लिखा गया पत्र भावनाओं को संजोकर प्रस्तुत करने की एक सजीव कला है। इसमें केवल शब्द नहीं, बल्कि लेखक की अनुभूतियाँ और संवेदनाएँ भी समाहित होती हैं। यही कारण है कि हस्तलिखित पत्र शब्दों से कहीं अधिक, दिल की सच्ची आवाज़ होता है।

ભારતીય ડાક વિભાગ દ્વારા પત્ર લેખનની વિધાને પ્રોત્સાહન આપવા માટે દર વર્ષે 9 થી 15 વર્ષની વયના બાળકો માટે ‘યુનિવર્સલ પોસ્ટલ યુનિયન આંતરરાષ્ટ્રીય પત્ર લેખન સ્પર્ધા’નું આયોજન કરવામાં આવે છે. આ અંગે માહિતી આપતાં ઉત્તર ગુજરાત પરિક્ષેત્ર, અમદાવાદના પોસ્ટમાસ્ટર જનરલ શ્રી કૃષ્ણ કુમાર યાદવે જણાવ્યું કે ભારતીય ડાક વિભાગ શાળાના વિદ્યાર્થીઓમાં સર્જનાત્મકતા, વિવેચનાત્મક વિચારસરણી અને પત્ર લેખનની કળાને પ્રોત્સાહન આપવા માટે યુનિવર્સલ પોસ્ટલ યુનિયન ની એક વાર્ષિક વૈશ્વિક પહેલ હેઠળ યુવાઓ માટે 55મી યુપીયુ આંતરરાષ્ટ્રીય પત્ર લેખન સ્પર્ધા–2026નું આયોજન કરવા જઈ રહ્યું છે. પત્ર લેખનનો વિષય છે: “ડિજિટલ વિશ્વમાં માનવીય જોડાણ કેમ મહત્વનું છે, તે અંગે તમારા કોઈ મિત્રને પત્ર લખો.” પત્ર હિન્દી, અંગ્રેજી અથવા બંધારણની આઠમી અનુસૂચિમાં દર્શાવેલી કોઈપણ ભાષામાં 800 શબ્દોની મર્યાદામાં લખવાનો રહેશે.

પોસ્ટમાસ્ટર જનરલ શ્રી કૃષ્ણ કુમાર યાદવે જણાવ્યું કે સ્પર્ધા માટે અરજીઓ મોકલવાની છેલ્લી તારીખ 13 માર્ચ, 2026 છે. ઇચ્છુક વિદ્યાર્થીઓ પોતાના શાળાના માધ્યમથી (જન્મતારીખનું પ્રમાણિતકરણ કરાવીને) નિર્ધારિત અરજીપત્રક (બે નકલમાં) સાથે પાસપોર્ટ સાઇઝના ત્રણ તાજેતરના ફોટોગ્રાફ જોડીને સંબંધિત અધિક્ષક/પ્રવર અધિક્ષકને મોકલી શકે છે. સ્પર્ધા માટે અરજી કરવાનો નમૂનો સંબંધિત પ્રવર અધિક્ષક/અધિક્ષક કચેરીમાંથી પ્રાપ્ત કરી શકાય છે. તેમ છતાં, તમામ મંડળના અધિક્ષકને વ્યાપક પ્રચાર કરવા તથા વિવિધ શાળાઓને અરજીપત્રકના નમૂના ઉપલબ્ધ કરાવવા સૂચનાઓ આપવામાં આવી છે. જો વિવિધ શાળા-કોલેજોના આચાર્ય ઈચ્છે તો આ સ્પર્ધા પોસ્ટ વિભાગ સાથે સંકલન કરીને પોતાના સ્તરે પણ સ્વતંત્ર રીતે યોજી શકે છે. પોસ્ટ વિભાગ સ્પર્ધાત્મક અરજીઓ તેમની પાસેથી એકત્ર કરી પરિમંડલીય કચેરી, ગુજરાતને મોકલશે.

પોસ્ટમાસ્ટર જનરલ શ્રી કૃષ્ણ કુમાર યાદવે જણાવ્યું કે પત્ર લેખન સ્પર્ધાનું મૂલ્યાંકન ગુજરાત ખાતે પરિમંડલીય સ્તરે કરવામાં આવશે અને શ્રેષ્ઠ ત્રણ પત્રોને રાષ્ટ્રીય સ્તરે સામેલ કરવા માટે ડાક નિદેશાલય, નવી દિલ્હી મોકલવામાં આવશે. રાજ્ય અથવા પરિમંડલ સ્તરે પસંદ થયેલા ટોચના ત્રણ પ્રતિભાગીઓને ક્રમશઃ પ્રથમ, દ્વિતીય અને તૃતીય ઇનામ તરીકે પ્રમાણપત્ર સાથે રૂ. 25,000, રૂ. 10,000 અને રૂ. 5,000 ની ઇનામ રકમ આપવામાં આવશે. તે જ રીતે, રાષ્ટ્રીય સ્તરે પ્રથમ, દ્વિતીય અને તૃતીય ઇનામ તરીકે પ્રમાણપત્ર સાથે રૂ. 50,000, રૂ. 25,000 અને રૂ. 10,000 ની ઇનામ રકમ આપવામાં આવશે. આંતરરાષ્ટ્રીય સ્તરે યુનિવર્સલ પોસ્ટલ યુનિયન દ્વારા પ્રથમ, દ્વિતીય અને તૃતીય ઇનામ તરીકે અનુક્રમે સુવર્ણ, રજત અને કાંસ્ય પદક, પ્રમાણપત્ર તથા અન્ય આકર્ષક ઇનામો આપવામાં આવશે. ઉપરાંત, સુવર્ણ પદક વિજેતાને યુપીયુ મુખ્યાલય, બર્ન (સ્વિટ્ઝર્લેન્ડ)ની મુલાકાતનો અવસર અથવા યુપીયુ દ્વારા નિર્ધારિત કોઈ અન્ય વિશેષ ઇનામ પણ આપવામાં આવશે.

પોસ્ટમાસ્ટર જનરલ શ્રી કૃષ્ણ કુમાર યાદવે જણાવ્યું કે ડિજિટલ ક્રાંતિના આ યુગમાં, જ્યાં સંદેશાઓ ક્ષણભરમાં એક સ્થાનેથી બીજા સ્થાન સુધી પહોંચી જાય છે, ત્યાં પત્ર લેખનની મહત્વતા આજે પણ યથાવત છે. પત્ર લખવાથી આપણને થોભીને વિચારવાની અને પોતાના વિચારોને સંયમ તથા સંવેદનશીલતા સાથે વ્યક્ત કરવાની તક મળે છે. હાથથી લખાયેલ પત્ર લાગણીઓને સંભાળી રજૂ કરવાની એક જીવંત કળા છે. તેમાં માત્ર શબ્દો નહીં, પરંતુ લેખકની અનુભૂતિઓ અને ભાવનાઓ પણ સમાયેલી હોય છે. એટલા માટે હાથથી લખેલ પત્ર શબ્દોથી અનેક ગણા વધુ, દિલની સાચી અવાજ બને છે.

Children Aged 9–15 to Write letter on ‘Human Connections in a Digital World’ under Universal Postal Union’s Global Initiative to Promote Letter Writing

To promote letter writing, the Department of Posts organizes the Universal Postal Union (UPU) International Letter Writing Competition every year for children aged 9 to 15 years. Sharing details about this, Postmaster General of North Gujarat Region, Ahmedabad, Shri Krishna Kumar Yadav, said that India Post is organizing the 55th UPU International Letter Writing Competition for youth under the annual global initiative of the Universal Postal Union to encourage creativity, critical thinking, and the art of letter writing among school students. The topic for UPU International Letter Writing Competition-2026 is “Write a letter to a friend about why human connection matters in a digital world.” Composition must be presented in the form of letter and can be written in Hindi, English or any language listed in the Eighth Schedule of the Constitution, with a maximum limit of 800 words.

Postmaster General Shri Krishna Kumar Yadav told that the last date for sending entries for the competition is 13th March 2026. Interested students may submit their entries through their schools (with verified date of birth) along with the prescribed application form (in two copies) and three recent passport-sized photographs to the concerned Sr. Superintendent of Posts/Superintendent of Posts. The application form for the competition can be obtained from the office of the concerned Sr. Superintendent of Posts/Superintendent of Posts. However, all Divisional Heads have been instructed to widely publicize the competition and provide the application form to various schools. Schools may organize this competition for their students independently as well. Concerned school principals may contact their concerned Sr. Superintendent of Posts/Superintendent of Posts for this. India Post will then collect the participants’ entries from them and forward them to the Circle Office, Gujarat.

Postmaster General Shri Krishna Kumar Yadav said that the evaluation of the letter writing competition will be conducted at the Circle level in Gujarat, and the three best letters will be sent to the Postal Directorate, New Delhi for consideration at the national level. At the state/circle level, the top three participants will be awarded ₹25,000, ₹10,000, and ₹5,000 respectively, along with certificates for first, second, and third prizes. At the national level, the first, second, and third prize winners will receive ₹50,000, ₹25,000, and ₹10,000 respectively, along with certificates. At the international level, the Universal Postal Union (UPU) will award gold, silver, and bronze medals, certificates, and other attractive prizes for first, second, and third positions. In addition, the gold medalist may also be offered a trip to the UPU Headquarters in Bern, Switzerland, or an alternative prize to be decided at the sole discretion of the UPU.

Postmaster General Shri Krishna Kumar Yadav told that this year’s theme explores the importance of genuine human connection in an increasingly digital world shaped by technology, from robots to all kinds of digital communication tools. By writing a letter to a friend, participants are encouraged to consider why staying connected, expressing care and nurturing friendships matters now more than ever across both physical and digital spaces. Indian Postal Service Officer Sh. KK Yadav added that, Since 1971, the Universal Postal Union has encouraged young writers aged 9-15 (inclusive) to write letters on a given theme to win exciting prizes. The competition is an excellent way of making young people aware of the important role that postal services play in our societies. It develops their composition skills and ability to express their thoughts clearly. It also fosters enjoyment of letter writing and helps to strengthen the bonds of international friendship.

आज के इस तेज़ रफ्तार युग में, जब संवाद का अधिकांश माध्यम डिजिटल प्लेटफ़ॉर्म तक सीमित हो गया है, तब भी पत्र लेखन की परंपरा अपनी प्रासंगिकता और गरिमा बनाए हुए है। हाथ से लिखा गया पत्र मन की गहराइयों से निकली अनुभूतियों को जीवंत रूप में सामने रखता है और पाठक के हृदय से सीधा संवाद स्थापित करता है। उक्त उद्गार उत्तर गुजरात परिक्षेत्र के पोस्टमास्टर जनरल श्री कृष्ण कुमार यादव ने 'यूनिवर्सल पोस्टल यूनियन अंतरराष्ट्रीय पत्र लेखन प्रतियोगिता-2025' के विजेता को सम्मानित करते हुए कही। अहमदाबाद स्थित एच. बी. कापड़िया प्राथमिक शाला की कक्षा 8वीं की छात्रा विश्वाबा ए. वाघेला को प्रतियोगिता में पूरे गुजरात परिमंडल में तृतीय स्थान प्राप्त करने पर पोस्टमास्टर जनरल श्री कृष्ण कुमार यादव द्वारा ₹5,000 की धनराशि का चेक एवं प्रशस्ति पत्र प्रदान कर सम्मानित किया गया। 

गौरतलब है कि यूनिवर्सल पोस्टल यूनियन द्वारा “कल्पना कीजिए कि आप सागर हैं। किसी को पत्र लिखकर समझाइए कि उन्हें आपकी अच्छी देखभाल क्यों और कैसे करनी चाहिए” विषय पर आयोजित पत्र लेखन प्रतियोगिता में गुजरात परिमंडल के विभिन्न स्कूलों के 995 विद्यार्थियों ने भाग लिया था। गुजरात परिमंडल में वड़ोदरा परिक्षेत्र से प्रांजल पी. अग्रवाल ने प्रथम स्थान, राजकोट परिक्षेत्र से एयर फोर्स स्कूल, जामनगर की सोनल आर. देर ने द्वितीय स्थान तथा अहमदाबाद मुख्यालय परिक्षेत्र से एच. बी. कापड़िया प्राथमिक शाला, अहमदाबाद की विश्वाबा ए. वाघेला ने तृतीय स्थान प्राप्त किया।

पोस्टमास्टर जनरल श्री कृष्ण कुमार यादव ने कहा कि अंतरराष्ट्रीय स्तर पर आयोजित यह प्रतियोगिता न केवल बच्चों की रचनात्मकता और लेखन क्षमता को प्रोत्साहित करने का माध्यम बनी, बल्कि उनमें पर्यावरण संरक्षण के प्रति जागरूकता और संवेदनशीलता विकसित करने में भी सहायक सिद्ध हुई। विद्यार्थियों ने अपने पत्रों के माध्यम से समुद्र संरक्षण, पर्यावरणीय संतुलन और प्रकृति के प्रति जिम्मेदारी का सशक्त संदेश दिया। यूनिवर्सल पोस्टल यूनियन और भारतीय डाक विभाग द्वारा आयोजित यह पहल युवाओं विशेषकर जनरेशन-ज़ेड को सामाजिक व वैश्विक विषयों पर सोचने और अपनी भावनाओं को पत्र लेखन के माध्यम से अभिव्यक्त करने के लिए एक महत्वपूर्ण मंच प्रदान करती है। अपने विचारों को रचनात्मक, संवेदनशील और प्रभावशाली शब्दों में व्यक्त करने का एक सुनहरा मौका देती है।

अहमदाबाद जीपीओ के सीनियर पोस्टमास्टर श्री अल्पेश शाह ने बताया कि भारतीय डाक विभाग द्वारा प्रति वर्ष 'यूनिवर्सल पोस्टल यूनियन अंतरराष्ट्रीय पत्र लेखन प्रतियोगिता का आयोजन 9 से 15 साल तक के बच्चों के लिए किया जाता है। इसमें राज्य या परिमंडल स्तर पर चयनित श्रेष्ठ तीन प्रतिभागियों को क्रमशः ₹25,000, ₹10,000 एवं ₹5,000 की पुरस्कार राशि प्रथम, द्वितीय एवं तृतीय पुरस्कार के रूप में प्रमाण पत्र सहित प्रदान की जाती है।

In today’s fast-paced era, when most communication has become confined to digital platforms, the tradition of letter writing continues to retain its relevance and dignity. A handwritten letter vividly conveys emotions arising from the depths of the heart and establishes a direct connection with the reader. These views were expressed by Shri Krishna Kumar Yadav, IPoS, Postmaster General, North Gujarat Region, while felicitating the winner of the Universal Postal Union (UPU) International Letter Writing Competition–2025. On this occasion, Vishwaba A. Vaghela, a Class 8 student of H. B. Kapadia Primary School, Ahmedabad, was felicitated by the Postmaster General Shri Krishna Kumar Yadav with a cheque of ₹5,000 and a Certificate of Appreciation for securing third position in the Gujarat Circle in the competition. It is noteworthy that 995 students from various schools of Gujarat circle participated in the letter writing competition organized by Universal Postal Union on the subject "Imagine you are the ocean. Write a letter to someone explaining why and how they should take good care of you.”  At the Gujarat Circle level, Pranjal P. Agrawal from Vadodara Region secured the first position, Sonal R. Der from Air Force School, Jamnagar from Rajkot Region secured the second position, and Vishwaba A. Vaghela from H. B. Kapadia Primary School from Head Quarter Region, Ahmedabad secured the third position.

Postmaster General Shri Krishna Kumar Yadav said that this internationally organised competition not only served as a platform to encourage youth's creativity and writing skills, but also proved helpful in developing awareness and sensitivity towards environmental conservation. Through their letters, the students conveyed a strong message on ocean conservation, environmental balance, and responsibility towards nature. This initiative, jointly organised by the Universal Postal Union and the India Post, provides an important platform for young people especially Gen-Z to think about social and global issues and express their feelings through letter writing. It also offers a valuable opportunity to articulate ideas in a creative, sensitive, and impactful manner.

Senior Postmaster, Ahmedabad GPO Shri Alpesh Shah told that Universal Postal Union (UPU) International Letter Writing Competition is organised by Department of Posts every year for children aged 9 to 15 years. At the State or Circle level, the top three selected participants are awarded prize money of ₹25,000, ₹10,000, and ₹5,000 for the first, second, and third positions respectively, along with certificates.

On this occasion, Sr. Postmaster Ahmedabad GPO Shri Alpesh Shah, Assistant Director Shri V M. Vahora, Shri M M Shaikh, Shri Ritul Gandhi, Assistant Superintendent Shri Jinesh Patel, Shri Ramesh Patel, Shri Ronak Shah, Shri Bhavin Prajapati, Assistant Account Officer Shri Ramswroop Mangawa, Inspector Ms. Payal Patel, Shri Yogendra Rathod, Dixit Rami along with other officials were present.

આજના ઝડપી ગતિના યુગમાં, જ્યાં સંવાદના મોટાભાગના સાધનો ડિજિટલ પ્લેટફોર્મ સુધી સીમિત થઈ ગયા છે, ત્યાં પણ પત્રલેખનની પરંપરા આજે પણ પોતાની પ્રાસંગિકતા અને ગૌરવ જાળવી રાખે છે. હાથથી લખાયેલ પત્ર મનની ઊંડાઈમાંથી નીકળેલી લાગણીઓને જીવંત સ્વરૂપે રજૂ કરે છે અને વાચકના હૃદય સાથે સીધો સંવાદ સ્થાપે છે. ઉપરોક્ત વિચાર ઉત્તર ગુજરાત પરિક્ષેત્રના પોસ્ટમાસ્ટર જનરલ શ્રી કૃષ્ણ કુમાર યાદવે ‘યુનિવર્સલ પોસ્ટલ યુનિયન આંતરરાષ્ટ્રીય પત્ર લેખન સ્પર્ધા–2025’ની વિજેતા વિદ્યાર્થીનીને સન્માનિત કરતી વખતે વ્યક્ત કર્યા. આ પ્રસંગે અમદાવાદ સ્થિત એચ.બી. કાપડિયા પ્રાથમિક શાળાની ધોરણ 8ની વિદ્યાર્થીની વિશ્વાબા એ. વાઘેલાને સમગ્ર ગુજરાત પરિમંડળમાં તૃતીય સ્થાન પ્રાપ્ત કરવા બદલ પોસ્ટમાસ્ટર જનરલ શ્રી કૃષ્ણ કુમાર યાદવ દ્વારા રૂપિયા 5,000/- નો ચેક તથા પ્રશસ્તિપત્ર આપી સન્માનિત કરવામાં આવી. ઉલ્લેખનીય છે કે યુનિવર્સલ પોસ્ટલ યુનિયન દ્વારા “કલ્પના કરો કે તમે સમુદ્ર છો. કોઈને પત્ર લખીને સમજાવો કે તમારું યોગ્ય સંરક્ષણ કેમ અને કેવી રીતે કરવું જોઈએ” વિષય પર આયોજિત આ આંતરરાષ્ટ્રીય પત્ર લેખન સ્પર્ધામાં ગુજરાત પરિમંડળના વિવિધ શાળાઓના કુલ 995 વિદ્યાર્થીઓએ ભાગ લીધો હતો. ગુજરાત પરિમંડળમાં વડોદરા પરિક્ષેત્રના પ્રાંજલ પી. અગ્રવાલે પ્રથમ સ્થાન, રાજકોટ પરિક્ષેત્રની એરફોર્સ સ્કૂલ, જામનગરની સોનલ આર. ડેરે દ્વિતીય સ્થાન અને અમદાવાદ મુખ્યાલય પરિક્ષેત્રની એચ.બી. કાપડિયા પ્રાથમિક શાળા, અમદાવાદની વિશ્વાબા એ. વાઘેલાએ તૃતીય સ્થાન પ્રાપ્ત કર્યું.

પોસ્ટમાસ્ટર જનરલ શ્રી કૃષ્ણ કુમાર યાદવે જણાવ્યું કે આંતરરાષ્ટ્રીય સ્તરે આયોજિત આ સ્પર્ધા માત્ર બાળકોની સર્જનાત્મકતા અને લેખન ક્ષમતાને પ્રોત્સાહન આપવાનું માધ્યમ બની નથી, પરંતુ તેમના અંદર પર્યાવરણ સંરક્ષણ પ્રત્યે જાગૃતિ અને સંવેદનશીલતા વિકસાવવામાં પણ સહાયક સાબિત થઈ છે. બાળકોએ પોતાના પત્રો દ્વારા સમુદ્ર સંરક્ષણ, પર્યાવરણીય સંતુલન અને પ્રકૃતિ પ્રત્યેની જવાબદારીનો સશક્ત સંદેશ આપ્યો છે. યુનિવર્સલ પોસ્ટલ યુનિયન તથા ભારતીય ડાક વિભાગ દ્વારા આયોજિત આ પહેલ યુવાનોને ખાસ કરીને જેન-Z ને સામાજિક અને વૈશ્વિક વિષયો પર વિચાર કરવા તથા પત્રલેખન દ્વારા પોતાની ભાવનાઓ અભિવ્યક્ત કરવા માટે એક મહત્વપૂર્ણ મંચ પૂરો પાડે છે. આ સ્પર્ધા તેમને પોતાના વિચારોને સર્જનાત્મક, સંવેદનશીલ અને અસરકારક શબ્દોમાં રજૂ કરવાની એક સુવર્ણ તક પ્રદાન કરે છે.

અમદાવાદ જીપીઓના સિનિયર પોસ્ટમાસ્ટર શ્રી અલ્પેશ શાહે જણાવ્યું કે ભારતીય ડાક વિભાગ દ્વારા દર વર્ષે 9 થી 15 વર્ષના બાળકો માટે ‘યુનિવર્સલ પોસ્ટલ યુનિયન આંતરરાષ્ટ્રીય પત્ર લેખન સ્પર્ધા’નું આયોજન કરવામાં આવે છે. આ સ્પર્ધામાં રાજ્ય અથવા પરિમંડળ સ્તરે પસંદ થયેલા શ્રેષ્ઠ ત્રણ પ્રતિભાશાળી પ્રતિભાગીઓને અનુક્રમે પ્રથમ, દ્વિતીય અને તૃતીય પુરસ્કાર તરીકે રૂપિયા 25,000/-, રૂપિયા 10,000/- અને રૂપિયા 5,000/-ની ઈનામ રકમ પ્રમાણપત્ર સાથે પ્રદાન કરવામાં આવે છે.

There have been radical transformations in postal services worldwide. In this era of digital mail, postal services have embraced diversity and added new dimensions. Postal workers have emerged as an important link in providing services between governments and the general public. Postmaster General of North Gujarat Region, Shri Krishna Kumar Yadav expressed these views on the occasion of 'World Post Day.' The 'Universal Postal Union' is not only connecting postal services across the world but also fostering creativity among youth through various competitions. In this context, Postmaster General Shri Krishna Kumar Yadav gave away the prizes to Ms. Hetvi Nitin Mehta from Shanti Asiatic School, Ahmedabad as the first prize of Rs. 25,000 for the 'Universal Postal Union Letter Writing Competition' at the circle level, and Ms. Meera Thakkar from Maharaja Agrasen School, Ahmedabad as second prize of Rs. 10,000 along with a certificate.

Postmaster General Shri Krishna Kumar Yadav said that the objective of 'World Post Day' is to raise awareness about the role of postal services in people's daily lives, business, and social and economic development worldwide. The 'Universal Postal Union' was established on October 9, 1874, in Bern, Switzerland, to realize the concept of "One World, One Postal System," allowing for a uniform postal system across the globe. India was the first Asian nation to become a member on July 1, 1876. Subsequently, during the Universal Postal Union Congress held in Tokyo, Japan, in 1969, it was declared that this founding day would be celebrated as 'World Post Day.' In the year 2024, the Universal Postal Union (UPU) is celebrating its 150th anniversary and the theme of this year is ‘150 Years of Enabling Communication and Empowering the People of Nations.’

Postmaster General Shri Krishna Kumar Yadav said that Department of Posts is one of the oldest departments in the country, playing a vital role in the socio-economic development of the nation. Over its 170-year journey, Department of Posts has witnessed numerous historical and socio-economic events. In the current era of information and communication revolution, many new technologies have emerged, and postal services have adapted by integrating these innovations, diversifying their services, and leveraging their extensive network to partner with various organizations for the distribution and sale of their products and services. The role of the Department of Posts has undergone significant changes. The phrase "DakiyaDakLaya" has evolved to include "Dakiya Bank Laya," highlighting its growing importance. Along with letters and parcels, essential things related to the lives of people in the modern era - important documents like Aadhar card, passport, PAN card, voter ID, driving license, bank check book, ATM, as well as prasad from various temples, Ganga water are also being delivered by Post offices. Through India Post Payments Bank, postmen are now playing a new role as mobile ATMs, contributing to economic and social inclusion. They provide a range of services, from social security schemes to Aadhaar, Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT), Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojna, e-Shram cards, vehicle insurance, and digital life certificates.

विश्व भर में डाक सेवाओं में आमूल चूल परिवर्तन आये हैं। फिजिकल मेल से डिजिटल मेल के इस दौर में डाक सेवाओं में विविधता के साथ कई नए आयाम जुड़े हैं। डाककर्मी सरकारों और आमजन के बीच सेवाओं को प्रदान करने वाले एक अहम कड़ी के रूप में उभरे हैं। उक्त उद्गार 'विश्व डाक दिवस' पर उत्तर गुजरात परिक्षेत्र, अहमदाबाद के पोस्टमास्टर जनरल श्री कृष्ण कुमार यादव ने व्यक्त किये। 'यूनिवर्सल पोस्टल यूनियन' न सिर्फ विश्व भर की डाक सेवाओं को जोड़ रहा है, बल्कि तमाम प्रतियोगिताएं के माध्यम से युवाओं में रचनात्मकता का भी विकास कर रहा है। इसी क्रम में अहमदाबाद जीपीओ में पोस्टमास्टर जनरल श्री कृष्ण कुमार यादव ने 'यूनिवर्सल पोस्टल यूनियन पत्र लेखन प्रतियोगिता' में शांति एशियाटिक स्कूल, अहमदाबाद की सुश्री हेतवी नितिन मेहता को परिमंडल स्तर पर प्रथम पुरस्कार के रूप में रु. 25,000/- और महाराजा अग्रसेन विद्यालय, अहमदाबाद की सुश्री मीरा ठक्कर को द्वितीय पुरस्कार के रूप में रु.10,000/- की नकद राशि और सर्टिफिकेट प्रदान कर सम्मानित किया।

पोस्टमास्टर जनरल श्री कृष्ण कुमार यादव ने कहा कि 'विश्व डाक दिवस' का उद्देश्य विश्व भर में लोगों के दैनिक जीवन, व्यापार और सामाजिक व आर्थिक विकास में डाक सेवाओं की भूमिका के बारे में जागरूकता बढ़ाना है। 'एक विश्व-एक डाक प्रणाली' की अवधारणा को साकार करने हेतु 9 अक्टूबर, 1874 को 'यूनिवर्सल पोस्टल यूनियन' की स्थापना बर्न, स्विट्जरलैंड में की गई, जिससे विश्व भर में एक समान डाक व्यवस्था लागू हो सके। भारत प्रथम एशियाई राष्ट्र था, जो कि 1 जुलाई 1876 को इसका सदस्य बना। कालांतर में वर्ष 1969 में टोकियो, जापान में सम्पन्न यूनिवर्सल पोस्टल यूनियन कांग्रेस में इस स्थापना दिवस 9 अक्टूबर को 'विश्व डाक दिवस' के रूप में मनाने हेतु घोषित किया गया। वर्ष 2024 में यूनिवर्सल पोस्टल यूनियन ( यूपीयू ) अपनी 150वीं वर्षगांठ मना रहा है, अत: इस वर्ष की थीम है 'संचार को सक्षम बनाने और राष्ट्रों के लोगों को सशक्त बनाने के 150 वर्ष'।

पोस्टमास्टर जनरल श्री कृष्ण कुमार यादव ने कहा कि डाक विभाग देश के सबसे पुराने विभागों में से एक है जो कि देश के सामाजिक-आर्थिक विकास में महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभाता है। भारतीय डाक विभाग 170 वर्षों के अपने सफर में तमाम ऐतिहासिक और सामाजिक-आर्थिक घटनाक्रम का साक्षी रहा है। वर्तमान में सूचना एवं संचार क्रांति के चलते तमाम नवीन तकनीकों का आविष्कार हुआ है और डाक सेवाओं ने भी समय के साथ नव-तकनीक के प्रवर्तन, अपनी सेवाओं में विविधता एवं अपने व्यापक नेटवर्क के चलते विभिन्न संगठनों के उत्पादों व सेवाओं के वितरण एवं बिक्री हेतु उनसे गठजोड़ करके अपनी निरंतरता कायम रखी है। डाक विभाग की भूमिका में तमाम परिवर्तन आए हैं। ‘डाकिया डाक लाया’ के साथ  ‘डाकिया बैंक लाया’ भी अब उतना ही महत्वपूर्ण है। पत्रों व पार्सल के साथ-साथ आधुनिक दौर में लोगों के जीवन से जुड़ी महत्वपूर्ण चीजें-आधार कार्ड, पासपोर्ट, पैन कार्ड, वोटर आईडी, ड्राइविंग लाइसेंस, बैंक चेक बुक, एटीएम जैसे महत्वपूर्ण दस्तावेजों के साथ-साथ विभिन्न मंदिरों के प्रसाद, गंगा जल भी डाकघरों द्वारा ही पहुँचायी जा रही हैं। इण्डिया पोस्ट पेमेंट्स  बैंक के माध्यम से आर्थिक और सामाजिक समावेशन के तहत पोस्टमैन चलते-फिरते एटीएम के रूप में नई भूमिका निभा रहे हैं और जन सुरक्षा योजनाओं से लेकर आधार, डीबीटी, प्रधानमंत्री फसल बीमा योजना, ई-श्रम कार्ड, वाहन बीमा,डिजिटल लाइफ सर्टिफिकेट तक की सुविधा प्रदान कर रहे हैं।

પોસ્ટમાસ્ટર જનરલ શ્રી કૃષ્ણકુમાર યાદવે જણાવ્યું કે 'વિશ્વ ડાક દિવસ' નો ઉદ્દેશ વિશ્વભરમાં લોકોને દૈનિક જીવન, વેપાર અને સામાજિક તથા આર્થિક વિકાસમાં ડાક સેવાઓની ભૂમિકા વિશે જાગૃતતા વધારવાનો છે. ‘એક વિશ્વ-એક ડાક પ્રણાલી' ની ધારણા સકાર કરવા માટે ૯ ઓક્ટોબર, ૧૮૭૪ના રોજ 'યુનિવર્સલ પોસ્ટલ યુનિયન' ની સ્થાપના બર્ન, સ્વિટ્ઝર્લેન્ડમાં કરવામાં આવી, જેથી વિશ્વભરમાં એક સમાન ડાક વ્યવસ્થા લાગુ કરી શકાય. ભારત પહેલું એશિયાઈ રાષ્ટ્ર હતું, જે 1 જુલાઈ 1876ના રોજ આનું સભ્ય બન્યું. પાછળથી, વર્ષ 1969 માં ટોકિયો, જાપાનમાં સંપન્ન યુનિવર્સલ પોસ્ટલ યુનિયન કોંગ્રેસમાં આ સ્થાપનાની તારીખ 9 અક્ટોબરને 'વિશ્વ ડાક દિવસ' તરીકે ઉજવવાની ઘોષણા કરવામાં આવી. વર્ષ 2024માં યુનિવર્સલ પોસ્ટલ યુનિયન (યૂપીયૂ) તેની 150મી વર્ષગાંઠ ઉજવી રહી છે, તેથી આ વર્ષની થીમ છે 'સંચારને સક્ષમ બનાવવું અને રાષ્ટ્રના લોકોને સશક્ત બનાવાના ૧૫૦ વર્ષ'.

 
ડાક વિભાગ દેશના સૌથી જૂના વિભાગોમાંથી એક છે, જે દેશના સામાજિક-આર્થિક વિકાસમાં મહત્વપૂર્ણ ભૂમિકા ભજવે છે. ભારતીય ડાક વિભાગ 170 વર્ષના તેના પ્રવાસમાં અનેક ઐતિહાસિક અને સામાજિક-આર્થિક ઘટનાક્રમોનું સાક્ષી રહ્યું છે. વર્તમાનમાં માહિતી અને સંચાર ક્રાંતિને કારણે અનેક નવી ટેકનોલોજીઓનો વિકાસ થયો છે અને ડાક સેવાઓએ પણ સમય સાથે નવી ટેકનોલોજીનો સમાવેશ, પોતાની સેવાઓમાં વૈવિધ્ય અને પોતાના વિશાળ નેટવર્કની અસરથી વિવિધ સંગઠનોના ઉત્પાદનો અને સેવાઓના વિતરણ અને વેચાણ માટે તેમની સાથે જોડાણ કરીને સાતત્યતા જાળવી રાખી છે. ડાક વિભાગની ભૂમિકામાં અનેક પરિવર્તન આવ્યા છે. ‘ડાકિયા ડાક લાયા’ની સાથે ‘ડાકિયા બેંક લાયા’ પણ હવે એટલું જ મહત્વનું છે. પત્રો અને પાર્સલની સાથે સાથે  આધુનિક યુગમાં લોકોના જીવન સાથે જોડાયેલી મહત્વપૂર્ણ વસ્તુઓ—આધાર કાર્ડ, પાસપોર્ટ, પેન કાર્ડ, વોટર આઈડી, ડ્રાઇવિંગ લાયસન્સ, બેંક ચેક બુક, એટીએમ જેવા મહત્વપૂર્ણ દસ્તાવેજો, તેમજ વિવિધ મંદિરોના પ્રસાદ અને ગંગાજળ પણ ડાકઘરો દ્વારા જ પહોંચાડવામાં આવી રહ્યા છે. ઈન્ડિયા પોસ્ટ પેમેન્ટ્સ બેંકના માધ્યમથી આર્થિક અને સામાજિક સમાવિષ્ટિ હેઠળ પોસ્ટમેન ચાલતા-ફરતા એટીએમના રૂપમાં નવી ભૂમિકા નિભાવી રહ્યા છે અને જન સુરક્ષા યોજનાઓથી લઈને આધાર, ડીબીટી, પ્રધાનમંત્રી ફસલ બીમા યોજના, ઇ-શ્રમ કાર્ડ, વાહન વીમા, ડિજિટલ લાઇફ સર્ટિફિકેટ સુધીની સુવિધા પ્રદાન કરી રહ્યા છે.

Universal Postal Union International Letter Writing Competition : Children share concerns over climate change crisis, appeal for timely action

'Universal Postal Union International Letter Writing Competition -2022' was organized by the Department of Posts on March 13. In this competition, children from 9 to 15 years old wrote a letter to the influential people of the country and the world regarding why and how they should take action on the climate crisis. Children expressed their thoughts through letters to the Secretary General, United Nation,  Prime Minister of  Shri Narendra Modi, Environment & Forest Minister and other  influential people. In Varanasi Region, 170 children of different schools participated in it. Above information was given by Mr. Krishna Kumar Yadav, Postmaster General, Varanasi Region.

Postmaster General Mr. Krishna Kumar Yadav said that the Department of Posts is providing a platform to the Children and youth to create interest in letter writing along with enhancing their general knowledge and to spread awareness and express their views about the climate crisis all over the world. Children have expressed their views in an impressive way during this competition. They share their concern about climate crisis due to global warming by greenhouse gases, deforestation on the name of development, use of non renewable fuels, increasing pollution, improper disposal of waste including e-waste, usage of polythene, imbalance in ecosystem with solutions by more afforestation, renewable energy, use of public transport instead of personal vehicle, proper disposal of e-waste, water harvesting and sustainable  development with ecological balance. Children also wrote in the letters to make people aware by including syllabus in school courses, 'nukkad-natak' plays, films, documentaries and social media.

Postmaster General Mr. Krishna Kumar Yadav said that the best three entries from Regional level would be sent to the Circle level. The best three entries at the Circle level will be given first, second and third prize of ₹ 25,000, ₹10,000 and ₹ 5,000 along with certificates. The best three entries from Circle level would be sent to the Postal Directorate, New Delhi for inclusion at the national level. The best three entries at the national level will be given first, second and third prize of ₹ 50,000, ₹ 25,000 and ₹ 10,000 along with certificates. The best entry at the national level shall qualify as the official Indian entry and will be sent to the Universal Postal Union in Switzerland.

डाक विभाग द्वारा अन्तर्राष्ट्रीय पत्र लेखन प्रतियोगिता का आयोजन : जलवायु संकट पर कार्यवाही करने हेतु संयुक्त राष्ट्र संघ महासचिव से प्रधानमंत्री मोदी तक को बच्चों ने लिखा पत्र

भारतीय डाक विभाग द्वारा 'यूनिवर्सल पोस्टल यूनियन अंतर्राष्ट्रीय पत्र लेखन प्रतियोगिता-2022' का आयोजन 13 मार्च, 2022 को किया गया। इस प्रतियोगिता में 9 से 15 साल तक के बच्चों ने देश-दुनिया के प्रभावशाली व्यक्तियों को पत्र लिखकर यह स्पष्ट किया कि उन्हें जलवायु संकट पर क्यों और कैसे कार्यवाही करनी चाहिए। संयुक्त राष्ट्र संघ के महासचिव, भारत के प्रधानमंत्री श्री नरेंद्र मोदी, पर्यावरण और वन मंत्री सहित तमाम प्रभावशाली शख्सियतों को पत्र के माध्यम से बच्चों ने अपने मन की बात लिखी। वाराणसी परिक्षेत्र में विभिन्न स्कूलों के 170 बच्चों ने इसमें भाग लिया। उक्त जानकारी वाराणसी परिक्षेत्र के पोस्टमास्टर जनरल श्री कृष्ण कुमार यादव ने दी।

वाराणसी परिक्षेत्र के पोस्टमास्टर जनरल श्री कृष्ण कुमार यादव ने बताया कि इस प्रतियोगिता के माध्यम से डाक विभाग युवाओं में पत्र लेखन की रूचि पैदा करने और सामान्य ज्ञान सहित पूरे विश्व में जलवायु संकट के विषय में जागरूकता फैलाने तथा उनके विचार व्यक्त करने का एक प्लेटफार्म उपलब्ध करा रहा है। बच्चों ने जलवायु संकट हेतु ग्रीन हाउस गैसों से बढ़ती ग्लोबल वार्मिंग, विकास के नाम पर वनों व पेड़ों की अंधाधुंध कटाई, पारम्परिक ईंधनों कोयला इत्यादि के ज्यादा प्रयोग, बढ़ते प्रदूषण, ई-कचरा, अपशिष्टों का समुचित निस्तारण न करना, प्लास्टिक की बढ़ती मात्रा, पारिस्थितिकी पारितंत्र में असंतुलन को जिम्मेदार बताते हुए अधिकाधिक वृक्षारोपण, नवीकरण ऊर्जा के ज्यादा प्रयोग, सार्वजनिक परिवहन के साधनों का ज्यादा उपयोग करने, ई-कचरा का सही निस्तारण, वर्षा जल संचयन, सह अस्तित्व और सतत विकास की अवधारणा पर जोर दिया। स्कूली पाठ्यक्रमों, नुक्कड़ नाटकों, फिल्मों और सोशल मीडिया के माध्यम से इस बारे में लोगों को जागरूक करने हेतु भी बच्चों ने पत्र में लिखा।

पोस्टमास्टर जनरल श्री कृष्ण कुमार यादव ने बताया कि अब क्षेत्रीय स्तर से तीन श्रेष्ठ प्रविष्टियों को चयनित करके परिमंडल स्तर पर भेजा जाएगा। परिमंडल स्तर पर पूरे प्रदेश से श्रेष्ठ तीन प्रतिभागियों को क्रमशः ₹ 25,000, ₹10,000 व ₹ 5,000 का प्रथम, द्वितीय व तृतीय पुरस्कार प्रमाण पत्र के साथ दिया जायेगा। वहाँ से श्रेष्ठ तीन प्रविष्ठियों को राष्ट्रीय स्तर पर सम्मिलित करने हेतु डाक निदेशालय, नई दिल्ली भेजा जायेगा। राष्ट्रीय स्तर पर श्रेष्ठ तीन प्रतिभागियों को क्रमशः ₹ 50,000, ₹ 25,000 व ₹ 10,000 का प्रथम, द्वितीय व तृतीय पुरस्कार प्रमाण पत्र के साथ दिया जायेगा। राष्ट्रीय स्तर के श्रेष्ठ पत्र लेखन को स्विट्जरलैंड में यूनिवर्सल पोस्टल यूनियन के पास आधिकारिक प्रविष्टि के रूप में भेजा जायेगा।

Department of Posts is organizing 'Universal Postal Union International Letter Writing Competition-2022' for the young people, in which 9 to 15 years aged young people can participate. Mr. Krishna Kumar Yadav, Postmaster General of Varanasi Region said that the subject of the competition is "Write a letter to someone influential explaining why and how they should take action on the climate crisis" in maximum 800 words in Hindi or English. The competition will be organized in all the districts on March 13, 2022 for which the last date for submission of form is March 6, 2022. It will be organized in Varanasi, Jaunpur, Ghazipur, Ballia, Chandauli and Bhadohi districts under Varanasi Postal Region.

Postmaster General Mr. Krishna Kumar Yadav told that the Department of Posts is providing a platform to the youth to create interest in letter writing along with enhancing their general knowledge and to spread awareness and express their views about the climate crisis all over the world. Willing applicants can apply in duplicate to the Senior Superintendent of Post Offices of the respective division. Applicants will have to attach their three passport size photographs on the first page and enter their full details in the second page including the name of the competition, applicant's name, father or guardian's name, full address, school name, date of birth, gender, mobile number, etc. Photocopy of Aadhar Card, Birth Certificate or School Identity Card will have to be attached as age proof along with the application. The principal of school may organize the competition at their level independently, for which they have to contact postal department. यूनिवर्सल पोस्टल यूनियन अंतर्राष्ट्रीय पत्र लेखन प्रतियोगिता-2022 का आयोजन

भारतीय डाक विभाग द्वारा 'यूनिवर्सल पोस्टल यूनियन अंतर्राष्ट्रीय पत्र लेखन प्रतियोगिता-2022' का आयोजन युवाओं के लिए किया जा रहा है, जिसमें 9 से 15 साल के युवा भाग ले सकते हैं। वाराणसी परिक्षेत्र के पोस्टमास्टर जनरल श्री कृष्ण कुमार यादव ने बताया कि इस प्रतियोगिता में  "किसी प्रभावशाली व्यक्ति को पत्र लिखिए जिसमें यह स्पष्ट किया गया हो कि उन्हें जलवायु संकट पर क्यों और कैसे कार्यवाही करनी चाहिए” विषय पर हिंदी या अंग्रेजी में अधिकतम 800 शब्दों में पत्र लिखना होगा। इसका आयोजन सभी जनपदों में 13 मार्च को किया जायेगा और फॉर्म जमा करने की अंतिम तिथि 6 मार्च, 2022 है। वाराणसी परिक्षेत्र के अधीन  वाराणसी, जौनपुर, गाजीपुर, बलिया, चंदौली और भदोही जिलों में भी इसका आयोजन किया जायेगा।

25 हजार से ज्यादा विद्यार्थियों ने डाक विभाग की राष्ट्रीय पत्र लेखन प्रतियोगिता 'ढाई आखर' में की भागीदारी

डाक विभाग की ओर से राष्ट्रीय स्तर पर आयोजित 'ढाई आखर' पत्र लेखन प्रतियोगिता में जोधपुर रीजन के स्कूली बच्चे बढ़-चढ़ कर भाग ले रहे हैं। डाक विभाग ने  बच्चों और युवाओं को पत्र लेखन के प्रति प्रोत्साहित करने हेतु इस प्रतियोगिता का राष्ट्रीय स्तर पर आयोजन किया है। राजस्थान पश्चिमी क्षेत्र, जोधपुर के निदेशक डाक सेवाएं  श्री कृष्ण कुमार यादव ने बताया कि  जोधपुर रीजन में अब तक 237 स्कूलों के 25 हजार से ज्यादा विद्यार्थियों ने इस प्रतियोगिता में उत्साहपूर्वक भागीदारी की है।

डाक निदेशक श्री कृष्ण कुमार यादव ने कहा कि सोशल मीडिया के दौर में युवा पीढ़ी को अंतर्देशीय पत्र, पोस्टकार्ड, लिफाफों और डाक टिकटों के बारे में विशेष जानकारी नहीं है, ऐसे में सिर्फ डाक विभाग के स्तर पर ही नहीं बल्कि साहित्य में भी एक विधा के रूप में पत्र लेखन के विलुप्त होने का ख़तरा बढ़ रहा है। ऐसे में  डाक विभाग पत्र लिखकर लोगों को प्रेरित करने के लिए तथा लुप्त हो गई अंतर्देशीय पत्र से परिचित कराने के लिए अखिल भारतीय पत्र लेखन प्रतियोगिता ‘ढाई आखर’ का आयोजन करा रहा है। इसमें सभी वर्गों के लोग भाग ले सकते हैं। 

 डाक निदेशक  श्री कृष्ण कुमार यादव ने बताया कि  'ढाई आखर' प्रतियोगिता में में "प्रिय बापू, आपने मुझे प्रेरित किया"  विषय पर 15 अगस्त, 2017 तक पत्र लिखना होगा।  पत्र  डाक विभाग द्वारा जारी अंतर्देशीय पत्र अथवा लिफाफे में ही स्वीकार्य होगा,  जिसमें क्रमशः 500 और 1,000 शब्दों में अंग्रेजी, हिन्दी अथवा स्थानीय भाषा में पत्र लिखा जा सकता है। इस  पत्र लेखन प्रतियोगिता में किसी भी उम्र के लोग भाग ले  सकते हैं। पहला वर्ग 18 वर्ष तक तथा दूसरा 18 वर्ष से अधिक आयु वर्ग का होगा। शहरों में  पत्र को प्रधान डाकघर या अन्य वितरण डाकघरों में इसके लिए निर्दिष्ट लेटर बॉक्स में ही  डालना होगा, जबकि गाँवों में लोग इसे अपने शाखा डाकपाल के माध्यम से भेज  सकते हैं।  पत्र में अपना पूरा नाम, पता व जन्मतिथि के प्रमाण-पत्र  सहित चीफ पोस्टमास्टर जनरल, राजस्थान परिमंडल, जयपुर-302007  के पते पर 15 अगस्त, 2017 तक निर्धारित लेटर बॉक्स में  डाल दें। 

प्रतियोगिता के विजेताओं के लिए भारत सरकार द्वारा आकर्षक पुरस्कार की व्यवस्था भी की गई है।  डाक निदेशक श्री कृष्ण कुमार यादव ने कहा कि  प्रतियोगिता के विजेताओं को राज्य और राष्ट्रीय स्तरों पर तीन-तीन पुरस्कार प्रदान किए जाएंगे। इनमें परिमंडलीय (राज्य) स्तर पर चयनित श्रेष्ठ पत्रों को प्रथम, द्वितीय व तृतीय श्रेणी में क्रमश: पचीस हजार, दस हजार व  पांच हजार रूपए का पुरस्कार दिया जायेगा। अखिल भारतीय स्तर पर चयनित श्रेष्ठ पत्रों को प्रथम, द्वितीय व तृतीय श्रेणी में क्रमश: पचास हजार, पचीस हजार व दस हजार रूपए का पुरस्कार दिया जायेगा। चयनित पत्रों  के लेखकों को पुरस्कार के साथ टाइटल से भी सम्मानित किया जाएगा। चयनित पत्रों  को 2 अक्टूबर, 2017 को साबरमती आश्रम, गुजरात  में  आयोजित समारोह में  पुरस्कृत किया जाएगा  और एक विशेष  प्रदर्शनी में प्रदर्शित भी किया जायेगा।

जोधपुर मंडल के प्रवर डाक अधीक्षक श्री बीआर सुथार ने बताया कि जोधपुर जनपद से सोहनलाल मनिहार उच्च माध्यमिक विद्यालय, सेंट्रल अकादमी स्कूल, राजकीय सीनियर सैकेण्डरी स्कूल, सिवांचीगेट, वरूण पब्लिक स्कूल, सिवांचीगेट, जवाहर नवोदय विद्यालय सिलवासिनी, लक्की बाल निकेतन, उम्मेद कन्या सीनियर सैकेण्डरी स्कूल, अपेक्स सैकेण्डरी स्कूल, महावीर पब्लिक स्कूल, राजकीय सीनियर सैकेण्डरी स्कूल, शेरगढ, राजकीय विद्यालय पुलिस लाइन, राजस्थान सीनियर सैकेण्डरी स्कूल देचू सहित तमाम स्कूलों की भागीदारी उत्साहजनक रही।
