Shri Krishna Kumar Yadav took charge as new Postmaster General of Varanasi Region on 18th September. Mr. Yadav is 2001 batch officer of the Indian Postal Service. He was earlier serving as the Director Postal Services of Lucknow (HQ) Region.
Originally a resident of Tahbarpur in Azamgarh District of Uttar Pradesh, Shri Krishna Kumar Yadav is also a well-known Hindi litterateur, writer and blogger. 7 books written by Shri Krishna Kumar Yadav in various genres have already been published. After getting his initial education from Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Azamgarh, Mr. Yadav completed his Masters from Allahabad University.
Popularly known as a skilled and sensitive administrator, Mr. Yadav has previously held many important positions in Surat (Gujarat), Lucknow, Kanpur, Andaman-Nicobar Islands, Allahabad and Jodhpur (Rajasthan) in his 19 years of service. Varanasi was a part of the Allahabad Region when Mr. Yadav was posted as Director Postal Services of Allahabad Region (February 2012 to March 2015). Varanasi Region is not unknown to him. Varanasi Region comprises Varanasi, Bhadohi, Chandauli, Jaunpur, Ghazipur and Ballia districts.
While taking charge in PMG office located at the Cantt. Head Post Office complex, Mr. Krishna Kumar Yadav expressed his commitment to take the Varanasi Region to new heights of success. He said that efforts will be made to connect more and more people with the public welfare schemes of the Government of India being run through the Department of Posts. For this, the staff will be made customer friendly with wide dissemination of services. Maximum people will be covered under Post Office Savings Schemes, Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana, Postal Life Insurance, Rural Postal Life Insurance, India Post Payments Bank, etc. by promoting Digital India and financial inclusion through the Post offices. Prompt and speedy delivery of all types of postal articles will be ensured and prompt redressal of public grievances will also be emphasised.
On this occasion Sr. Superintendent of Posts Offices, Varanasi (East) Division, Sumit Gutta, Superintendent of Posts Offices, Varanasi (West), Ram Milan, Assistant Director, Shambhu Rai, Praveen Prasoon, Senior Postmaster, Varanasi Head Post Office, R.K Chauhan, Postmaster Cantt Head Post Office, R.S. Verma and many other officials of the Region were present.
