Electoral Photo Identity Cards (EPIC) through Speed Post at doorstep via India Post

While the number of youth voters has increased in the elections of the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly, the number of new applications for Electoral photo Identity Card (EPIC) has also increased rapidly. The Election Commission is dispatching the EPIC Cards through Department of Posts. Mr. Krishna Kumar Yadav, Postmaster General, Varanasi Region told that in order to expand public-oriented services, BNPL agreement is signed between Department of Posts and the Election Commission, Uttar Pradesh for booking and delivery of EPIC Cards through Speed Post by the Post Offices. EPIC cards are being sent directly to the voters through Speed Post at their address.

Postmaster General Mr. Krishna Kumar Yadav said that the work of booking and delivery of Electoral photo Identity Cards through Speed Post by the Post Offices of 38 assembly constituencies of 6 districts (Varanasi, Chandauli, Bhadohi, Jaunpur, Ghazipur and Ballia) under Varanasi Region is being done promptly. So far more than 4 lakh EPIC cards have been booked. It includes booking of 57.22 thousand in Varanasi, 22.13 thousand in Bhadohi, 14.10 thousand in Chandauli, 73 thousand in Jaunpur, 42.50 thousand in Ballia and 1.92 lakh in Ghazipur District, which are being delivered on the next working day. Out of this, 3.61 lakh EPIC cards have been delivered by the Post Offices of Varanasi Region. Last week, about 50 to 60 thousand EPIC cards were booked per day in the Post Offices of Varanasi Region. Delivery of these cards are being regularly monitored by the concerned Superintendent of Post Offices and for if any reason EPIC cards which could not be delivered are being sent for re-attempting the delivery.

Postmaster General Mr. Krishna Kumar Yadav said that the booking of EPIC cards is being done on top priority through Speed Post. For this, instructions have been issued to the identified Post Offices. In order to availability of delivery data online, EPIC cards are being delivered through the Postman mobile app. Due to this, EPIC cards are being received by the people at their doorstep in a transparent manner.

भारतीय डाक सेवा के वर्ष 2001 बैच के अधिकारी. सूरत, कानपुर, अंडमान-निकोबार द्वीप समूह, इलाहाबाद, जोधपुर, लखनऊ में विभिन्न पदों पर कार्य करने के बाद फ़िलहाल पोस्टमास्टर जनरल, वाराणसी परिक्षेत्र के पद पर. जवाहर नवोदय विद्यालय, जीयनपुर आज़मगढ़ से 1994 में इंटर एवं तत्पश्चात इलाहाबाद विश्वविद्यालय से 1999 में राजनीति-शास्त्र में परास्नातक. डाक सेवाओं मूलत: चिट्ठियों से मेरा गहरा नाता है. इसलिए नहीं कि मैं डाक विभाग से जुड़ा हूँ, बल्कि इसलिए भी कि मैं साहित्य से जुड़ा हूँ. समय मिलता है तो कुछ लिख-रच लेता हूँ. अब तक विभिन्न विधाओं में कुल 7 कृतियाँ प्रकाशित-'अभिलाषा'(काव्य-संग्रह,2005), 'अभिव्यक्तियों के बहाने' व 'अनुभूतियाँ और विमर्श'(निबंध-संग्रह, 2006 व 2007), 'India Post : 150 Glorious Years'(2006),'क्रांति-यज्ञ : 1857-1947 की गाथा' 'जंगल में क्रिकेट' (बाल-गीत संग्रह,2012)व '16 आने 16 लोग' (निबंध-संग्रह, 2014).देश-विदेश से प्रकाशित तमाम प्रतिष्ठित पत्र-पत्रिकाओं एवं इंटरनेट पर वेब पत्रिकाओं, ई-मैगज़ीन्स व विभिन्न ब्लॉग पर विविध विधाओं में रचनाओं का निरंतर प्रकाशन. शताधिक पुस्तकों/संकलनों में विभिन्न विधाओं में रचनाएँ प्रकाशित. आकाशवाणी लखनऊ, कानपुर, पोर्टब्लेयर, इलाहाबाद से कविताओं, सामयिक लेख, वार्ता का समय-समय पर प्रसारण. अंतर्जाल पर व्यक्तिश: 'शब्द-सृजन की ओर' और 'डाकिया डाक लाया' एवं युगल रूप में सप्तरंगी प्रेम, उत्सव के रंग और बाल-दुनिया ब्लॉग का सञ्चालन.इंटरनेट पर 'कविता कोश' में भी कविताएँ संकलित. विभिन्न सामाजिक-साहित्यिक संस्थाओं द्वारा शताधिक सम्मान और मानद उपाधियाँ प्राप्त.व्यक्तित्व-कृतित्व पर 'बाल साहित्य समीक्षा'(सं. डा. राष्ट्रबंधु, कानपुर, सितम्बर 2007) और 'गुफ्तगू' (सं. मो. इम्तियाज़ गाज़ी, इलाहाबाद, मार्च 2008 पत्रिकाओं द्वारा विशेषांक जारी. व्यक्तित्व-कृतित्व पर एक पुस्तक 'बढ़ते चरण शिखर की ओर : कृष्ण कुमार यादव' (सं0- दुर्गाचरण मिश्र, 2009) प्रकाशित. कानपुर में मेरे विदाई-समारोह में चर्चित साहित्यकार और लेखक पद्मश्री गिरिराज किशोर जी ने एक बड़ी अच्छी बात कही कि-"चिट्ठियों और साहित्य दोनों का ही संवेदनाओं से अटूट रिश्ता है." यह अनायास ही नहीं है कि दुनिया की तमाम नामी-गिरामी हस्तियों का किसी न किसी रूप में इस संवेदनशील डाक व्यवस्था से जुड़ाव रहा है। अमेरिका के राष्ट्रपति रहे अब्राहम लिंकन पोस्टमैन तो भारत में पदस्थ वायसराय लार्ड रीडिंग डाक वाहक रहे। विश्व प्रसिद्ध वैज्ञानिक व नोबेल पुरस्कार विजेता सी0वी0 रमन भारतीय डाक विभाग में अधिकारी रहे वहीं प्रसिद्ध साहित्यकार व ‘नील दर्पण‘ पुस्तक के लेखक दीनबन्धु मित्र पोस्टमास्टर थे। ज्ञानपीठ पुरस्कार से सम्मानित लोकप्रिय तमिल उपन्यासकार पी.वी.अखिलंदम, राजनगर उपन्यास के लिए साहित्य अकादमी पुरस्कार से सम्मानित अमियभूषण मजूमदार, फिल्म निर्माता व लेखक पद्मश्री राजेन्द्र सिंह बेदी, मशहूर फिल्म अभिनेता देवानन्द डाक व्यवस्था से जुड़े रहे हैं। उपन्यास सम्राट प्रेमचन्द जी के पिता अजायबलाल डाक विभाग में ही क्लर्क रहे। ज्ञानपीठ पुरस्कार विजेता मशहूर लेखिका महाश्वेता देवी ने आरम्भ में डाक-तार विभाग में काम किया था तो प्रसिद्ध बाल साहित्यकार डा. राष्ट्रबन्धु भी पोस्टमैन रहे। सुविख्यात उर्दू समीक्षक पद्मश्री शम्सुररहमान फारूकी, शायर कृष्ण बिहारी नूर, महाराष्ट्र के प्रसिद्ध किसान नेता शरद जोशी सहित तमाम विभूतियाँ डाक विभाग से जुड़ी रहीं। उत्तर प्रदेश की मुख्यमंत्री सुश्री मायावती भी डाक-तार विभाग के कर्मचारी की ही पुत्री हैं। कहना गलत न होगा कि तमाम मशहूर शख्सियतें डाक विभाग की गोद में अपनी काया का विस्तार पाने में सफल रहीं और मुझे गौरव है कि मैं भी इसी व्यवस्था का अभिन्न अंग हूँ. अंतर्जाल पर आप मेरे ब्लॉग 'शब्द सृजन की ओर' और 'डाकिया डाक लाया' पर मेरी अभिव्यक्तियों और भावनाओं से परिचित हो सकते हैं !!
