In the order of 'International Yoga Day-2022', the Department of Posts started countdowns on 25 April, in which 50,000 Post offices across the country were connected digitally. In this, 28,187 people of 5637 Post offices in Uttar Pradesh were connected digitally, while in Varanasi Region, 7,335 people of 663 Post offices were connected digitally. In New Delhi, Mr. Ashwini Vaishnaw, Union Minister of Communications and Railways along with Mr. Devusinh Chauhan, Minister of State for Communications and Mr. Vineet Pandey, Secretary, Department of Posts encouraged people from different parts of the country to practice yoga. At the same time, Mr. Krishna Kumar Yadav, Postmaster General of Varanasi Region, participated in this campaign along with Cantt. MLA Mr. Saurabh Srivastava, Director, Malviya Bhawan Mr. Upendra Pathak and Senior Superintendent of Post Office Mr. Rajan Rao and encouraged people to join 'Yoga Day-2022'. In the program organized in Sarnath, Mr. Sumedha Tero, Viharadhipati, Jambudeep Mandir, Superintendent of Post Office Mr. P.C. Tiwari, social worker Mr. Shashikant Rai along with others inspired many people towards yoga. Thousands of people joined the campaign in various Postal Divisions and Post Offices.
On this occasion, Varanasi Cantt MLA Mr. Saurabh Srivastava said that Yoga is the invaluable and unique heritage of Indian culture and the base of good health of human beings. It is the result of the visionary thinking of Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi that now Yoga Day is celebrated as a festival globally.
Postmaster General Mr. Krishna Kumar Yadav said that Yoga not only keeps us away from negativity but also creates good thoughts in our mind. The importance of yoga has increased even more in the era of corona pandemic, by adopting which we all should become partners in building a healthy India.
Appreciating this initiative of the Department of Posts, Dr. Upendra Pathak, Director of Malviya Bhawan in BHU, said that Yoga is philosophy of life, which connects human beings with his soul and increases the mental, physical and spiritual energy .
Mr. Sumedha Tero, Viharadhipati of Jambudeep Temple, Sarnath said that Indian culture is universal since ancient times. Like the Ashtanga Yoga of Yoga, Buddhism, as propounded by Mahatma Buddha, describes the Eightfold Path to Nirvana, which also includes Yama and Niyama.
In the program organized at Sarnath, Yoga instructor Mr. Indal Vishwakarma and at Malviya Bhawan in BHU, Yoga instructor Dr. Yogesh Bhatt gave information about Yogasanas. Soumya Mishra, Unnati Upadhyay, Shiv Shankar Pandey presented the Kulgeet. On this occasion Assistant Superintendent of Posts, R.K. Chauhan, Suresh Chandra, Pankaj Kumar, Ajay Maurya, Inspector Shrikant Pal, Naresh Bara, Postmaster Ramashankar Verma, J.P. Singh, Ram Ratan Pandey, Kulbhushan Tiwari, Shri Prakash Gupta, Rajendra Yadav, Rahul Verma, Ajita, Abhilasha and all other people were present.
