Post offices have been made multipurpose by providing maximum services under one roof. In the changing scenario, Postal Department is delivering citizen centric services of the government and its benefits to the people along with delivery of mails and parcel. In such a situation, universal accessibility of Post Offices is very important. Postmaster General of Varanasi Region Shri Krishna Kumar Yadav expressed the above views in a program organized at Mahmoorganj Sub Post Office in Varanasi on 21st February, 2024. On this occasion, after lighting the lamp, he distributed ‘Mahila Samman Savings Certificate’ to women and ‘Sukanya Samriddhi Account’ passbook to girls and wished them a bright future. Mr. Yadav told that Sukanya Samriddhi accounts of 3.40 lakh girls have been opened in the Varanasi Region, while accounts of all eligible girls up to 10 years of age in about 1,000 villages have been opened and covered as ‘Sampoorna Sukanya Samriddhi Gram'. For the convenience of the people, all the customer-oriented services like mails, money remittance, savings, insurance, IPPB, Aadhaar, CSC, Passport, Ganga Jal, QR code based digital payment are available in the post offices under one roof.
Shri Vinay Kumar, Superintendent of Post Offices, Varanasi (West) Division said that Mahmoorganj Post Office was operating in the premises of Varanasi Cantt. Head Post Office since 2016. The customers here were facing problems. Once again, with the relocation of the post office to Mahmoorganj area, all the facilities will be available to the customers. Also, customers will not need to go far for mail delivery, account opening, IPPB, renewal/updation of Aadhaar etc. After a long time, there was great joy among the common people due to the re-shifting of the post office in Mahmoorganj area.
On this occasion, Assistant Director RK Chauhan, Assistant Superintendent Inderjit Pal, Postal Inspector Dilip Pandey, Manjeet Kumar, Postmaster Mahmoorganj Satish Kumar, SP Gupta and many officers, employees and local people were present.

डाकघरों में एक ही छत के नीचे तमाम सेवाएं उपलब्ध कराकर उन्हें बहुद्देशीय बनाया गया है। बदलते दौर में डाक विभाग अब पत्र-पार्सल के साथ-साथ सरकार की तमाम जनकल्याणकारी योजनाओं और इनके लाभों को भी लोगों तक पहुँचा रहा है। ऐसे में डाकघरों की सर्वसुलभता बेहद जरुरी है। वाराणसी परिक्षेत्र के पोस्टमास्टर जनरल श्री कृष्ण कुमार यादव ने वाराणसी में महमूरगंज उपडाकघर में 21 फरवरी, 2024 को आयोजित कार्यक्रम में उक्त विचार व्यक्त किए। इस अवसर पर दीप प्रज्वलन पश्चात महिलाओं को महिला सम्मान बचत पत्र एवं बालिकाओं को सुकन्या समृद्धि खाते की पासबुक देते हुए उनके सुखद भविष्य की कामना की।
उन्होंने बताया कि वाराणसी परिक्षेत्र में 3.40 लाख बालिकाओं के सुकन्या समृद्धि खाते खोले जा चुके हैं, वहीं लगभग 1,000 गाँवों में 10 साल तक की सभी योग्य बालिकाओं के खाते खोलते हुए उन्हें 'सम्पूर्ण सुकन्या समृद्धि ग्राम' के रूप में आच्छादित किया जा चुका है।डाकघरों में लोगों की सुविधा हेतु एक ही छत के नीचे डाक, पार्सल मदों की बुकिंग के साथ बचत, बीमा, आईपीपीबी, आधार, कॉमन सर्विस सेंटर, पासपोर्ट, गंगाजल, क्यूआर कोड आधारित डिजिटल भुगतान जैसी तमाम जनोन्मुखी सुविधाएं उपलब्ध हैं।
वाराणसी पश्चिमी मंडल के अधीक्षक डाकघर श्री विनय कुमार ने बताया कि महमूरगंज डाकघर 2016 से भवन की अनुपलब्धता के कारण वाराणसी कैंट प्रधान डाकघर के प्रांगण में संचालित हो रहा था। यहाँ के ग्राहकों को निरंतर समस्याओं का सामना करना पड़ रहा था। पुनः महमूरगंज में डाकघर के विस्थापित होने से ग्राहकों को सभी सुविधाएं सुलभ हो सकेंगी। साथ ही डाक वितरण, खाता खुलवाने, आईपीपीबी, आधार के नवीनीकरण/अपडेशन इत्यादि कार्यों के लिए ग्राहकों को दूर जाने की आवश्यकता नहीं पड़ेगी। एक लम्बे समय बाद महमूरगंज क्षेत्र में डाकघर पुन: शिफ्ट होने से आम जन में भी काफी हर्ष दिखा।
इस अवसर पर अधीक्षक डाकघर विनय कुमार, सहायक निदेशक आर.के चौहान, सहायक अधीक्षक इंद्रजीत पाल, डाक निरीक्षक दिलीप पांडेय, मंजीत कुमार, पोस्टमास्टर महमूरगंज सतीश कुमार, एस.पी गुप्ता सहित तमाम अधिकारी, कर्मचारी और स्थानीय लोग उपस्थित रहे।
