Postal department launches Voter awareness campaign for voters participation in Lok Sabha Election 2024

Department of Posts has taken up the responsibility of making voters aware about voting in the Lok Sabha elections under the ongoing voter awareness campaign under the 'Sweep Program' of the Election Commission of India. Postmaster General of Varanasi Region Shri Krishna Kumar Yadav started this campaign at Varanasi Cantt. Head Post Office. He said that a large number of public reaches the Post Offices daily for their work, so the Post Offices are right place for voter awareness. This massive campaign will run through a total of 1,729 post offices under Varanasi Region including Varanasi, Bhadohi, Chandauli, Jaunpur, Ghazipur and Ballia districts.


On this occasion, Postmaster General Shri Krishna Kumar Yadav appealed to the people to ensure their participation in the great festival of democracy. On one hand, people are being made aware by stamping ‘Chunav ka Parv, Desh ka Garv’ and Varanasi Lok Sabha Election Voting date June 1, 2024 on the mails delivered through Post Offices, whereas, Postmen will also motivate to the people to use their voting rights to strengthen democracy in the country along with delivery of mails.  

Further, Postal employees will also motivate customers coming to the Post Offices for various works like speed post and registry booking, opening of POSB and IPPB account, Aadhaar enrollment and updation etc. to cast their vote. Postmaster General Shri Krishna Kumar Yadav said that Voters are being motivated to vote through letters reaching homes of lakhs of people. Especially the target has been set to reach the awareness message to the elderly, youth, women and first voters as well as disabled voters in every situation. He administered the voters' oath to all the postal employees present and also requested all the employees of the Postal Department to play an active role in the door-to-door voter awareness campaign.

On this occasion, Superintendent of Post Offices Shri Vinay Kumar, Assistant Director Brijesh Sharma, Assistant Superintendent RK Chauhan, Indrajit, Inspector Dilip Kumar, Aniket Ranjan, AAO Santoshi Rai, Postmaster Cantt. HO Gopal Dubey, Ajita, Rahul Verma, Shriprakash Gupta, Manish Kumar, Anand Pradhan and many officials were present.
