Environmental conservation is the greatest need of the present time. To ensure that future generations receive pure oxygen for survival, more and more trees should be planted and nurtured with the same care and affection as family members. The continuously rising global temperatures can also be controlled through trees. These views were expressed by Postmaster General, North Gujarat Region, Shri Krishna Kumar Yadav after planting saplings on the occasion of World Environment Day.
Postmaster General Shri Krishna Kumar Yadav stated that nature is our shared home, and it is our collective responsibility to protect and preserve it for future generations. It is impossible to imagine human life on Earth without trees. Trees not only provide us with oxygen but also countless life-sustaining resources. This is why trees are often referred to as the ‘lungs of the Earth.’ Shri Yadav further said that World Environment Day is not merely a ceremonial observance but a global movement. It reminds us that the Earth exists not only to fulfill our present needs but is also a precious legacy for future generations. The focus of World Environment Day 2026 is climate change and nature-based solutions. Rising global temperatures, erratic weather patterns, droughts, floods, and increasing natural disasters across the world are clear indications that the time for action is now. The objective of World Environment Day is to raise awareness about environmental protection and encourage global action on critical issues such as climate change, pollution, biodiversity conservation, and sustainable development.
Postmaster General Shri Krishna Kumar Yadav said merely planting trees on occasion such as World Environment Day is not enough. Instead, people must remain environmentally conscious every day and strive to plant at least one sapling every month. Environmental conservation requires creating awareness among future generations and instilling in them a sense of responsibility towards nature. He encouraged people to actively participate in environmental conservation, pollution control, and sustainable development initiatives. He also urged every postal official to contribute to these efforts through tree plantation activities and by adopting eco-friendly products in their daily lives. Environmental conservation begins at the individual level. Simple measures such as reducing the use of single-use plastics, conserving water and electricity, and opting for public transport or bicycles can collectively make a significant contribution towards protecting the environment.
Senior Superintendent of Post Offices Shri Chirag Mehta said that planting trees for environmental conservation is the responsibility of every individual. Assistant Director Shri Alpesh Shah highlighted the importance of tree plantation with the slogan, “One Person, One Tree.” Assistant Director Shri Ritul Gandhi and Shri Varis Vahora remarked that trees sustain life itself, and therefore, along with planting trees, ensuring their protection and preservation is equally important.

'विश्व पर्यावरण दिवस' पर पोस्टमास्टर जनरल कृष्ण कुमार यादव ने पर्यावरण अनुकूल जीवन शैली अपनाने व प्राकृतिक संसाधन बचाने के लिए किया प्रेरित
पर्यावरण संरक्षण आज की सबसे बड़ी जरुरत है, आने वाली पीढ़ी को जीवित रहने के लिए शुद्ध आक्सीजन मिले इसके लिए ज्यादा से ज्यादा पौधे लगाएं व परिवार के सदस्य की भांति उसकी देखभाल करें। वैश्विक स्तर पर निरंतर बढ़ रहे तापमान को भी हम इन्हीं पेड़-पौधों के जरिये नियंत्रित कर सकते हैं। उक्त उद्गार उत्तर गुजरात परिक्षेत्र के पोस्टमास्टर जनरल श्री कृष्ण कुमार यादव ने 'विश्व पर्यावरण दिवस' पर सपरिवार पौधारोपण करने के पश्चात व्यक्त किये।
पोस्टमास्टर जनरल श्री कृष्ण कुमार यादव ने कहा कि, प्रकृति हमारा घर है, इसकी रक्षा करना हमारा धर्म है। धरती पर पेड़ के बिना मानव जीवन की कल्पना करना असंभव है। पेड़ से हमें न सिर्फ ऑक्सीजन मिलता है बल्कि तमाम जीवनदायक चीजें मिलती हैं। इसीलिए पेड़ को 'धरती का फेफड़ा' भी कहा जाता है। श्री यादव ने कहा कि विश्व पर्यावरण दिवस केवल एक औपचारिक आयोजन नहीं, बल्कि एक वैश्विक आंदोलन है। यह दिन हमें याद दिलाता है कि पृथ्वी केवल हमारी जरूरतों को पूरा करने के लिए नहीं है, बल्कि आने वाली पीढ़ियों की भी धरोहर है। वर्ष 2026 में इस दिवस का केंद्र बिंदु जलवायु परिवर्तन और प्रकृति आधारित समाधान हैं। दुनिया भर में बढ़ते तापमान, अनियमित मौसम, सूखा, बाढ़ और प्राकृतिक आपदाएं यह संकेत दे रही हैं कि अब कार्रवाई का समय आ गया है। विश्व पर्यावरण दिवस का उद्देश्य पर्यावरण संरक्षण के प्रति जागरूकता बढ़ाना तथा जलवायु परिवर्तन, प्रदूषण, जैव विविधता संरक्षण और सतत विकास जैसे मुद्दों पर वैश्विक कार्रवाई को प्रोत्साहित करना है।
पोस्टमास्टर जनरल श्री कृष्ण कुमार यादव ने कहा कि सिर्फ दिवस विशेष पर वृक्षारोपण से बात नहीं बनेगी बल्कि हमें हर दिन पर्यावरण दिवस की तरह जागरूक रहना होगा तथा हर माह पौधा लगाना होगा I पर्यावरण संरक्षण के लिए हमें अपनी भावी पीढ़ी को जागरूक करना होगा I उन्होंने लोगों को पर्यावरण संरक्षण, प्रदूषण नियंत्रण और सतत विकास के प्रति जागरूक करने और हर डाककर्मी से पौधारोपण द्वारा उनके निवारण में भागीदार बनने का एवं इको फ्रेंडली उत्पादों का इस्तेमाल करने को भी प्रेरित किया। सिंगल-यूज प्लास्टिक का कम उपयोग, पानी और बिजली की बचत, सार्वजनिक परिवहन या साइकिल का उपयोग जैसी पहलों से पर्यावरण संरक्षण की शुरुआत व्यक्तिगत स्तर से भी की जा सकती है।
प्रवर डाक अधीक्षक श्री चिराग मेहता ने कहा की पर्यावरण संरक्षण के लिये पौधे लगाना हम सबका दायित्व है I सहायक निदेशक अल्पेश शाह ने एक व्यक्ति, एक वृक्ष के नारे के साथ पौधारोपण के महत्त्व को बताया I सहायक निदेशक रितुल गाँधी और वारिस व्होरा ने कहा कि वृक्ष हमें जीवन देता है इसलिए वृक्ष लगाने के साथ-साथ इनका संरक्षण भी बहुत जरुरी है I

પોસ્ટમાસ્ટર જનરલ કૃષ્ણ કુમાર યાદવે પર્યાવરણને અનુકૂળ જીવનશૈલી અપનાવવા અને કુદરતી સંસાધનોના સંરક્ષણ માટે પ્રેરિત કર્યા
પર્યાવરણ સંરક્ષણ આજની સૌથી મોટી જરૂરિયાત છે. આવનારી પેઢીને જીવવા માટે શુદ્ધ ઓક્સિજન મળી રહે તે માટે વધુમાં વધુ વૃક્ષારોપણ કરવું જોઈએ અને પરિવારના સભ્યની જેમ તેની સંભાળ રાખવી જોઈએ. વૈશ્વિક સ્તરે સતત વધી રહેલા તાપમાનને પણ આપણે આ વૃક્ષો માધ્યમથી નિયંત્રિત કરી શકીએ છીએ. આ ઉદ્દગાર ઉત્તર ગુજરાત પરિક્ષેત્રના પોસ્ટમાસ્ટર જનરલ શ્રી કૃષ્ણ કુમાર યાદવે 'વિશ્વ પર્યાવરણ દિવસ' નિમિત્તે વૃક્ષારોપણ કર્યા બાદ વ્યક્ત કર્યા.
પોસ્ટમાસ્ટર જનરલ શ્રી કૃષ્ણ કુમાર યાદવે જણાવ્યું કે, પ્રકૃતિ આપણું ઘર છે અને તેનું સંરક્ષણ કરવું આપણો ધર્મ છે. પૃથ્વી પર વૃક્ષો વિના માનવ જીવનની કલ્પના કરવી અશક્ય છે. વૃક્ષો આપણને માત્ર ઓક્સિજન જ આપતા નથી, પરંતુ જીવન માટે જરૂરી અનેક અમૂલ્ય સંસાધનો પણ પ્રદાન કરે છે. તેથી જ વૃક્ષોને ‘ધરતીના ફેફસા’ તરીકે ઓળખવામાં આવે છે. શ્રી યાદવે વધુમાં જણાવ્યું કે વિશ્વ પર્યાવરણ દિવસ માત્ર એક ઔપચારિક ઉજવણી નથી, પરંતુ એક વૈશ્વિક જનઆંદોલન છે. આ દિવસ આપણને યાદ અપાવે છે કે પૃથ્વી માત્ર આપણી જરૂરિયાતો પૂરી કરવા માટે નથી, પરંતુ આવનારી પેઢીઓ માટેની અમૂલ્ય ધરોહર પણ છે. વર્ષ 2026માં આ દિવસનું મુખ્ય કેન્દ્રબિંદુ આબોહવા પરિવર્તન અને પ્રકૃતિ આધારિત ઉકેલો છે. વિશ્વભરમાં સતત વધી રહેલું તાપમાન, અનિયમિત હવામાન, દુષ્કાળ, પૂર અને અન્ય કુદરતી આપત્તિઓ એ સ્પષ્ટ સંકેત આપી રહી છે કે હવે અસરકારક પગલાં લેવાનો સમય આવી ગયો છે. વિશ્વ પર્યાવરણ દિવસનો મુખ્ય હેતુ પર્યાવરણ સંરક્ષણ પ્રત્યે જનજાગૃતિ વધારવાનો તેમજ આબોહવા પરિવર્તન, પ્રદૂષણ નિયંત્રણ, જૈવવિવિધતા સંરક્ષણ અને ટકાઉ વિકાસ જેવા મુદ્દાઓ પર વૈશ્વિક સ્તરે સક્રિય કામગીરીને પ્રોત્સાહન આપવાનો છે.
પોસ્ટમાસ્ટર જનરલ શ્રી કૃષ્ણ કુમાર યાદવે જણાવ્યું કે માત્ર કોઈ એક વિશેષ દિવસે વૃક્ષારોપણ કરવું પૂરતું નથી, પરંતુ આપણે દરરોજ પર્યાવરણ દિવસ જેવી જ જાગૃતિ રાખવી પડશે અને દર મહિને ઓછામાં ઓછું એક વૃક્ષ રોપવાનો સંકલ્પ કરવો પડશે. પર્યાવરણ સંરક્ષણ માટે આપણી ભાવિ પેઢીને પણ જાગૃત કરવી અત્યંત જરૂરી છે. તેમણે લોકોને પર્યાવરણ સંરક્ષણ, પ્રદૂષણ નિયંત્રણ અને ટકાઉ વિકાસ પ્રત્યે જાગૃત થવા તેમજ દરેક પોસ્ટલ કર્મચારીને વૃક્ષારોપણ દ્વારા આ પ્રયાસોમાં સહભાગી બનવા માટે પ્રેરિત કર્યા. સાથે જ તેમણે પર્યાવરણને અનુકૂળ (ઇકો-ફ્રેન્ડલી) ઉત્પાદનોના ઉપયોગ માટે પણ પ્રોત્સાહિત કર્યા. શ્રી યાદવે જણાવ્યું કે સિંગલ-યૂઝ પ્લાસ્ટિકનો ઓછો ઉપયોગ, પાણી અને વીજળીની બચત, જાહેર પરિવહન અથવા સાયકલનો વધુ ઉપયોગ જેવી સરળ પહેલો દ્વારા વ્યક્તિગત સ્તરે પણ પર્યાવરણ સંરક્ષણની અસરકારક શરૂઆત કરી શકાય છે. આવા નાના પરંતુ મહત્વપૂર્ણ પ્રયાસો પર્યાવરણને સ્વચ્છ, સુરક્ષિત અને ટકાઉ બનાવવામાં મહત્વપૂર્ણ યોગદાન આપી શકે છે.
પ્રવર અધિક્ષક શ્રી ચિરાગ મહેતાએ જણાવ્યું કે પર્યાવરણ સંરક્ષણ માટે વૃક્ષારોપણ કરવું આપણા સૌની સામૂહિક જવાબદારી છે. તેમણે વધુમાં કહ્યું કે હરિયાળું અને સ્વચ્છ પર્યાવરણ જ ભાવિ પેઢીને સુરક્ષિત ભવિષ્ય આપી શકે છે. સહાયક નિદેશક શ્રી અલ્પેશ શાહે “એક વ્યક્તિ – એક વૃક્ષ” ના સૂત્ર સાથે વૃક્ષારોપણના મહત્ત્વ વિશે માહિતી આપી. સહાયક નિદેશક શ્રી રિતુલ ગાંધી અને શ્રી વારિસ વ્હોરાએ જણાવ્યું કે વૃક્ષો આપણને જીવન આપે છે. તેથી માત્ર વૃક્ષારોપણ કરવું જ પૂરતું નથી, પરંતુ વાવેલા વૃક્ષોનું સંરક્ષણ અને યોગ્ય સંભાળ રાખવી પણ એટલી જ જરૂરી છે.
