डाक विभाग के तत्वावधान में वाराणसी परिक्षेत्र में 'विश्व पर्यावरण दिवस' पर वृक्षारोपण का आयोजन किया गया। इस अवसर पर मकबूल आलम रोड स्थित पोस्टल कॉलोनी में वृक्षारोपण करते हुए वाराणसी परिक्षेत्र के पोस्टमास्टर जनरल श्री कृष्ण कुमार यादव ने कहा कि पर्यावरण संरक्षण आज की सबसे बड़ी जरुरत है, आने वाली पीढ़ी को जीवित रहने के लिए शुद्ध आक्सीजन मिले इसके लिए ज्यादा से ज्यादा पौधे लगाएं व परिवार के सदस्य की भांति उसकी देखभाल भी करें। वैश्विक स्तर पर निरंतर बढ़ रहे तापमान को भी हम इन्ही पेड़-पौधों के जरिये नियंत्रित कर सकते हैं। इस अवसर पर डाककर्मियों को पर्यावरण संरक्षण के प्रति जागरूक करते हुए पर्यावरण को स्वच्छ रखने का संकल्प दिलाया गया।
पोस्टमास्टर जनरल श्री कृष्ण कुमार यादव ने पर्यावरण अनुकूल जीवन शैली अपनाने एवं प्राकृतिक संसाधनों को बचाने के लिए प्रेरित किया। उन्होंने कहा कि सिर्फ दिवस विशेष पर वृक्षारोपण से बात नहीं बनेगी बल्कि हमें हर दिन पर्यावरण दिवस की तरह जागरूक रहना होगा तथा हर माह पौधा लगाना होगा। पर्यावरण संरक्षण के लिए हमें अपनी भावी पीढ़ी को जागरूक करना होगा।
प्रवर डाक अधीक्षक श्री राजीव कुमार ने कहा की पर्यावरण संरक्षण के लिये पौधे लगाना हम सबका दायित्व है। सहायक निदेशक बृजेश शर्मा और आरके चौहान ने एक व्यक्ति, एक वृक्ष के नारे के साथ पौधारोपण के महत्त्व को बताया। सीनियर पोस्टमास्टर पीसी तिवारी ने कहा कि वृक्ष हमें जीवन देता है इसलिए वृक्ष लगाने के साथ-साथ इनका संरक्षण भी बहुत जरुरी है।
इस अवसर पर वाराणसी पूर्वी मंडल के प्रवर अधीक्षक डाकघर राजीव कुमार, सहायक निदेशक बृजेश शर्मा, आरके चौहान, सीनियर पोस्टमास्टर पीसी तिवारी, निरीक्षक दिलीप पांडेय, अनिकेत रंजन, संजय अहिरवार, श्री प्रकाश गुप्ता, राहुल कुमार आनंद कुमार, मंजू कुमारी सहित तमाम अधिकारी-कर्मचारी उपस्थित रहे।

Postmaster General KK Yadav inspired officials to adopt environment-friendly lifestyle and save natural resources
Postal dept. organized plantation drive on 'World Environment Day' in Post Offices and Postal colonies of Varanasi Region. On this occasion, while planting tree in the Postal Colony situated on Maqbool Alam Road, Postmaster General of Varanasi Region Shri Krishna Kumar Yadav said that environmental protection is the biggest need of today, to ensure that the coming generation gets pure oxygen for survival, plant as many trees as possible and take care of them like family member. We can also control the ever-increasing temperature at the global level through regular plantations. On this occasion, postal officials were made aware about environmental protection by taking a pledge to keep the environment clean.
Postmaster General Shri Krishna Kumar Yadav inspired people to adopt an environment-friendly lifestyle and save natural resources. He said that planting trees only on special days will not work, rather we have to be aware every day like Environment Day and plant a tree every month. We have to make our future generation aware for environmental protection.
Senior Superintendent of Post Offices Shri Rajiv Kumar said that planting trees for environmental protection is the responsibility of all of us. Assistant Director Brijesh Sharma and RK Chauhan explained the importance of plantation with the slogan of ‘one person, one tree’. Senior Postmaster PC Tiwari said that trees give us life, therefore, along with planting trees, their conservation is also very important.
On this occasion SSPPs Rajiv Kumar, Assistant Director Brijesh Sharma, RK Chauhan, Sr. Postmaster PC Tiwari, Inspectors Dilip Pandey, Aniket Ranjan, Sanjay Ahirwar, Shri Prakash Gupta, Rahul Kumar, Anand Kumar, Manju and many other officials participated in plantation drive.
