If you desire that your painting be issued in the shape of Postage stamp,
Department of Posts is affording an opportunity. The stamp design competition
is being organized at National level by the Department of Posts in which the
best painting will be issued in the shape of postage stamps on Children Day
next year. Mr Krishna Kumar Yadav, Director Postal Services, Allahabad Region said
that Department of Post has been organizing Stamp design competition since 1998
and the participation of children and students to design the postage stamp is
ensured by this activity.

Services, Allahabad Region Mr. Krishna Kumar Yadav told that the subject
prescribed for this year's design a stamp is 'A day with my Grand Parents'. The
design could be in ink water colour, oil colour or any other medium. Participants
are free to use drawing paper, art paper or any other type of paper. The
participants are to make an original design on this subject. Mr. Yadav further
added that there will be three groups of participant's viz. upto Class IV
standard, Class V to VIII standard and Class IX to XII standard and accordingly
there will be three levels of prize for all categories. The prize wining design
in each category will be considered for use on stamps and other philatelic
material. The prize money for all categories will be worth Rs. 10,000/-,
6,000/- and 4,000/- for first, second and third respectively. Mr. Yadav said
that The prize winning entries at National level are likely to be chosen for
designing the postage stamp, first day cover and miniature sheet.

Yadav said that this competition will be held on 16th November 2013 at 1100 hrs. on Saturday in divisional
head quarters of Allahabad Region. This
competition will be organized in Allahabad Head Post Office, Varanasi Head Post
Office, Pratapgarh Head Post Office and Jaunpur Head Post Office, Mirzapur Head
Post Office and Ghazipur Head Post Office. Nomination of students can be sent
to the concerned Sr. Supdt. of Post Offices and Sr. Postmasters latest by 13th
November 2013.
