Now the Post offices will become more high-tech - Krishna Kumar Yadav

With the purpose to create awareness among the Postal Officers about new technologies and methods to be introduced soon in Post Offices, and to enhance their understanding of changes happening in Department of Posts a one-day workshop was organised at DRDA Conference Hall in Collectorate Office, Jodhpur on 15th June. The workshop was inaugurated by Mr. Krishna Kumar Yadav, Director Postal Services, Rajasthan Western Region, Jodhpur. The workshop was attended by  Assistant Superintendents of Posts Offices, Inspector of Post Offices and all Head Postmasters of the Region, who were updated about the latest and upcoming changes and new postal services through power point presentation.

While addressing the workshop Mr. Krishna Kumar Yadav, Director Postal Services, Rajasthan Western Region said that there have been numerous changes in Postal Services, and the department is working towards taking these changes to rural level.  In Jodhpur Region all feasible Post offices had been started working under Core Banking Solution, which will bring revolutionary changes in banking at rural level. 24 ATMs have been started in the Region. After implementation of CBS, customers of Post Offices will be able to avail services like Net banking, Mobile banking in a systematic manner.

Mr. Krishna Kumar Yadav said that there is need to ensure reach of technological advancements to rural areas also and Postal Department is already working in this direction. Under Rural ICT Project, Branch Post Offices located in rural areas will now be made high-tech and Netbooks and Hand Held devices will now be given to these offices. Not only this, Branch Post Offices will be given Mobile Thermal Printer, Smartcard reader, Finger Print scanner, Digital Camera etc. for signature/ document scanning and making transactions, said Mr. Yadav.


Director Postal Services Krishna Kumar Yadav said that, India Post payment bank will also be established in Jodhpur, which was recently approved by Government of India. In First phase 8 branches will be open in Rajasthan including Jodhpur and Bikaner in Western Region. The payment bank shall be a technogocially enabled banking plateform which gives a wide range of services such as Direct benefit transfers, all kind of payments.

   
While interacting with the Postal Officers Mr. Yadav said that apart from proper implementation of Postal Services and their effective monitoring we should be courteous and more sensitive towards customers, to get more revenue. He also suggested that every Postal Division should adopt one village for implementation of ‘Sampoorna Sukanya samriddhi Gram’ scheme. He said that we should aim to cover maximum number of households under Post Office Savings Bank Scheme and Postal Life Insurance also.

 On this occasion a number of officers and employees including Assistant Director Ishra Ram, KS Rajpurohit, Sr. Account Officer MJ Vyas, Asstt. Supdt. Tarun Sharma, BR Rathode, Rajendra Bhati, Sudarshan Samriya etc. were present.
