RakshaBandhan festival, a symbol of brother-sister love in the midst of Corona pandemic, will be celebrated on 22nd August and for this, the Postal Department has already started preparations. Postmaster General of Varanasi Region, Mr. Krishna Kumar Yadav released special colourful designer waterproof Rakhi envelopes in a function at Cantt Head Post Office. These envelopes will now be available for sale in Post Offices of Varanasi Region.
Postmaster General Mr. Krishna Kumar Yadav said that these designer Rakhi envelopes are waterproof and strong from the point of view of security, even in rainy season the Rakhi sent by sisters can reach the distant brothers safely. The value of these Rakhi envelopes of size 11 cm X 22 cm is only ten rupees which is in addition to postage charges. Rakhi envelope is written in english with logo of India Post and design of Rakshabandhan on the upper left side of the waterproof envelope and 'Happy Rakhi' written on the lower right side. Postmaster General Mr. Krishna Kumar Yadav said that being colourful and designer, it would be convenient to differentiate them from other mails result in saving time and also in getting them delivered before the festival.
Assistant Director Shri Sanjay Verma informed that Rakhi envelopes are being sent for sale to all Head Post Offices in Varanasi Region, from where Superintendent of Post Offices can make it available for sale in other Post Offices as well. Rashmi Srivastava, who came to the Varanasi Cantt Head Post Office to buy envelopes, said that her brothers are working in distant cities and during the pandemic period of COVID 19, she will now be sure of sending Rakhi by the Postal Department through this designer envelope.
