Department of Posts released Permanent Pictorial Cancellation on Shri Kashi Vishwanath Temple, Varanasi

Shri Kashi Vishwanath Temple, Varanasi has preserved the antiquity, historicity, spirituality and cultural glory of the city. Millions of devotees and tourists from all over the country and the world come to see it. Realizing the dreams of crores of Shiva devotees around the world, this ancient divine temple brings alive the culture of Kashi. The above words were expressed by the Postmaster General of Varanasi Region, Mr. Krishna Kumar Yadav while releasing a  Permanent Pictorial Cancellation on Shri Kashi Vishwanath Temple, Varanasi on 13th November, 2021.

In the middle of this cancellation, the top of the temple and the flag inscribed on it have been engraved and in the rounding of the edge, Shri Kashi Vishwanath Temple, Varanasi has been inscribed in Hindi and English. Varanasi Head Post Office and its Pincode-221001 have been written along with the date at the bottom of the cancellation. Now instead of the normal cancellation, the letters and parcels going to and from the country and the world from the Varanasi Head Post Office at Visheshwarganj will have a special  pictorial cancellation of Shri Kashi Vishwanath Temple.

In the program organized in the Regional Office, Postmaster General Mr. Krishna Kumar Yadav said that it is tremendous coincidence that on this day, rejuvenated and transformed Shri Kashi Vishwanath Corridor is being inaugurated by the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. As such this initiative of the Department of Posts will make this day more splendid. The Postal Department has always been playing the role of cultural ambassador. In such a situation, this special pictorial cancellation being affixed on all the mails will act as the cultural ambassador of Varanasi not only within the country but also at the global level. Having a picture of the top of Shri Kashi Vishwanath temple on the cancellation will expand the faith of the people and will also increase the curiosity among the youths to explore more about it. Mr. Yadav further added that this special cancellation will spread the cultural ties associated with Varanasi and Lord Shiva all over the world. It will  be an invaluable treasure for Lord Shiva devotees across the world. It's purpose is to convey the rich history of Kashi along with the glory of Shri Kashi Vishwanath Mandir, it's culture, it's purity to the country and the world. Along with Divya-Kashi, Bhavya-Kashi, it will give a new identity to the cultural pride and identity of Kashi.

Senior Superintendent of Post Office, Varanasi (East) Division, Mr. Rajan Rao said that now in Varanasi Head Post Office, all the letters coming and going from the country and the world will be affixed with the special pictorial cancellation of Shri Kashi Vishwanath Temple. It will prove to be a priceless gift for the philatelists. This will also boost tourism.

During this, Superintendent Post Office Varanasi (West) Division Sanjay Kumar Verma, Assistant Director Ram Milan,  Accounts Officer MP Verma, Assistant Superintendent of Posts Ajay Kumar, Assistant Accounts Officer Santoshi Rai, Inspector Posts Shrikant Pal, VN Dwivedi and Ramchandra Yadav, Sriprakash Gupta, Rajendra Yadav, Rahul Kumar along with other employees, philatelists were present.
