In the changing scenario, Postal Dept. is constantly innovating by adopting the latest technology. Now a days, parcel business is growing rapidly due to the trend of e-Commerce. Parcels are being sent not only in the country but also abroad. In this sequence, Mr. Krishna Kumar Yadav, Postmaster General, Varanasi Region inaugurated 'Dakghar Niryat Kendra' at Varanasi Head Post Office. This will enable entrepreneurs to send parcels to foreign countries and the facility of custom clearance will be available online sitting at home. On the very first day, bookings for Kuwait, Ireland and New Zealand countries were done from 'Dakghar Niryat Kendra', Varanasi. Postmaster General Mr. Krishna Kumar Yadav said that soon Dakghar Niryat Kendra will be set up at Jaunpur Head Post Office, Ballia Head Post Office, Bhadohi Mukhya Dak Ghar and Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay Sub Post Office of Varanasi Region for the convenience of entrepreneurs. On this occasion Yasin Khan as the first customer booked a parcel, to whom the Postmaster General symbolically presented the receipt in token of launching the service.
Postmaster General Mr. Krishna Kumar Yadav said that now entrepreneurs do not need to come to the post office to book parcels for sending abroad, they will be able to book their parcels through the portal sitting at home. For this, Dakghar Niryat Kendra are being opened by the Department of Posts in Post Offices of district headquarters across the country. To take advantage of this service, entrepreneurs will have to register on the India Post website www.indiapost.gov.in/ or directly by visiting https://dnk.cept.gov.in/customers.web/ link. For registration, entrepreneurs will also have to give certificate of being an exporter (IEC). The demand for ODOP and GI products is also increasing day by day in foreign countries, in such a situation, these can be easily sent to abroad through Dakghar Niryat Kendra, said Mr. Yadav.
It is worth mentioned that on sending goods abroad and ordering goods from abroad, custom clearance is being done by the Customs Department located in Delhi and Mumbai. Sometimes it also takes 15 days to 1 month. Postmaster General Mr. Krishna Kumar Yadav said that special provisions have been made for custom clearance of parcels booked at the Dakghar Niryat Kendra. Now the entrepreneurs will not need to come to the post office, the notification will come to their mobile number and portal about the necessary documents related to clearance required by the Customs department. Accordingly they will be able to get the custom clearance done immediately online by sending the necessary documents by login into their account on the portal sitting at home.
Mr. Rajan, Senior Superintendent of Post Offices, Varanasi (East) Division, said that special training has been given to postal workers for the Dakghar Niryat Kendra, who will help customers from registration to booking on the portal, so that customers do not face any kind of inconvenience.
On this occasion, SSPOs Rajan, Sr. Postmaster S.P. Rai, Assistant Superintendent of Post Offices Surendra Chaudhary, Dilip Singh Yadav, IPPB Manager Sublesh Singh, Postal Inspectors Shrikant Pal, Dilip Pandey, Sadhna Mishra, Shriprakash Gupta, Deepmani, Manish Mishra and all officers, Employees and entrepreneurs were present.
