'Mahila Samman Savings Certificate' has received a good response from women working in various fields. This scheme was launched in Amrit Kaal budget and Started since 1st April, 2023. In Uttar Pradesh 29,000 women have invested more than Rs. 3 billion in this scheme in three months. In whole Uttar Pradesh maximum number of women investor is from Varanasi Region existed in constituency of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. Postmaster General of Varanasi Region Mr. Krishna Kumar Yadav told that 7,065 women have invested more than Rs. 40 crore in 'Mahila Samman Bachat Patra' in Varanasi Region.
While distributing Mahila Samman Savings Certificate to women at Cantt Head Post Office, Postmaster General Mr. Krishna Kumar Yadav said that it is an important step towards women empowerment and financial inclusion. This two-year scheme offers an attractive and fixed interest rate of 7.5 per cent compounded quarterly with a maximum limit of Rs 2 lakhs with flexible investment and partial withdrawal options. The scheme is valid for a period of two years till March 31, 2025. A minimum investment of Rs. 1,000/- and a maximum of Rs. 2 lakh can be made into this. Mr. Yadav further added that, This account will be of Single type account and multiple accounts can be opened at an interval of 3-3 months, but the deposit in all the accounts together will not exceed Rs.2 lakhs. Compound interest at the rate of 7.5% is payable on the amount deposited in the account, which will be credited to the account every quarter. Account holders can get payment up to a maximum of 40% of the deposit amount after 1 year and after 6 months, if required, premature payment can also be received, on which interest will be given at the rate of 5.5%, added Mr. Yadav.
On this occasion Sr. Supdt. of Post Offices Rajan, SPOs Vinay Kumar, Sr. Postmaster SP Rai, Assistance Director Ram Milan, Brijesh Sharma etc. were present.
