Department of Posts organises National letter writing competition 'Dhai Akhar' on topic 'Digital India for New India'

Digital India campaign has been started by the Government of India to make the citizens of the country aware and digitally empowered.  When every citizen of the country would be aware and digitally empowered, our country will develop rapidly. In view of this, a national level letter writing competition is being organized by the Department of Posts on the topic 'Digital India for New India'. If letter of the applicant is selected, applicant will receive a prize ranging from 5 thousand to 50 thousand rupees. While providing above information, Shri Krishna Kumar Yadav, Postmaster General, Varanasi & Prayagraj Region told that for this, various schools and colleges can organize their own in association with the Postal Department. Last date is fixed on October 31, 2023.

Postmaster General, Shri Krishna Kumar Yadav said that people of any age can participate in 'Dhai Akhar' letter writing competition. The first category will be up to 18 years and the second will be above 18 years of age. Letter will be accepted only in an inland letter or in envelope issued by the Department of Posts, in which letter can be written by hand in English, Hindi or local language in 500 and 1,000 words respectively. This letter should be sent to the Postmaster General of concerned Region by 31st October, 2023 with full name, address, date of birth, mobile number and name of the school of participant. Candidates of Varanasi, Bhadohi, Chandauli, Jaunpur, Ghazipur and Ballia Districts under Varanasi Region will have to send their letter addressed to the Postmaster General, Varanasi Region, Varanasi-221002. Apart from this, Participants of Prayagraj, Kaushambi, Pratapgarh, Mirzapur, Sonbhadra, Sultanpur and Amethi Districts under Prayagraj Region will have to send their letter addressed to the Postmaster General, Prayagraj Region, Prayagraj -211001.

Postmaster General, Shri Krishna Kumar Yadav informed that three prizes each in different 4 categories will be given to the winners of the competition at the State and National levels. Best letter selected at the Circle (State) level will be given prizes of 25 thousand, 10 thousand and 5 thousand rupees. in the first, second and third category respectively. Prizes of 50 thousand, 25 thousand and 10 thousand rupees will be given to the best letters selected at National level in first, second and third category respectively. Overall, prizes worth Rs. 40.20 lakhs will be given to the winners across the country.
