With the purpose to create
attraction for Postage Stamps and create awareness about India’s culture,
heritage and social values through postage stamps among the public, Deptt. Of
Posts will organize a two days “Allahabad Philatelic Exhibition” Allaphilex-2013 on 13th and 14th January, 2013 in Mahatma
Gandhi Art Gallery of North Central Zone Cultural Centre. Mr. Krishna Kumar
Yadav, Director Postal Services, Allahabad Region told that in this exhibition philatelists
of the city will showcase a variety of Philatelic stamps. Thousands of stamps
will be displayed in total 30 frames. Further Mr. Yadav added that, it will
include a wide range of colorful collection of stamps like stamps issued on
Allahabad, Centenary of Indian Cinema through Postage Stamps, and stamps issued
to spread awareness about problems like AIDS, Maleria etc. Other than senior
Philatelists of the city, students and children will also put on exhibit of
their postage stamps collection.
According to Director Mr. K. K. Yadav, such
exhibition is going to be organized after 5 years. Earlier Postage stamp
exhibition was organized in 2007. During the exhibition Quiz Competition and
Stamp design competitions will also be organized for school children. A
Philatelic Workshop will also be organized for persons having interest in
Philately.
Director Mr. K. K. Yadav told that Justice Pankaj Mithal of Allahabad
High Court will inaugurate the Philatelic Exhibition on 13th January
and closure will be done on 14th January by Mr. Kamlesh Chandra,
Chief Post Master General, U. P. Circle. On 14th January itself, on
the first day of Royal Bath, MakarSankranti, issue of special cover and cancellation will also be done by Mr. Kamlesh Chandra, Chief
Post Master General, U. P. Circle.
