Now there is no need to move to bank or ATM for withdrawal of amount received in bank accounts under Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi or in other DBT schemes. Department of Posts is giving the facility to the beneficiaries to withdraw this amount from their bank accounts through India Post Payments Bank at their door step. Facility of payment from bank accounts through Aadhaar Enabled Payment System (AEPS) will be available through postman sitting at home. Shri Krishna Kumar Yadav, Postmaster General of Varanasi Region has directed all the Divisional Superintendents of Post offices and Branch Managers of India Post Payments Bank to conduct a massive campaign for this. On June 4, a mega campaign will be launched in all the districts for this, which will continue till June 13. During this campaign, on the lines of 'Your bank, your door', more and more people will be given the facility of withdrawing money from bank accounts and payment of instalments of Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi to farmers will be top priority. Under this, the facility of withdrawal of money will be made available from kitchen to shop and farm-barn, from streets to boats in rivers. Every day an individual can withdraw money up to Rs 10,000 from his Aadhaar linked bank account through the micro ATMs available with the postmen.
Shri Krishna Kumar Yadav, Postmaster General, Varanasi Region informed that through Aadhaar Enabled Payment System, India Post Payments Bank is providing door-to-door withdrawal facility by postmen and Gramin Dak Sevaks where anyone can easily withdraw money from their Aadhaar linked bank accounts. People sitting at home are now able to withdraw the DBT amount disbursed under social security schemes through the postman of their area and there is no need to go to any bank or ATM for withdrawing payments. Mr. Yadav informed that so far around 15 lakh people sitting at home in Varanasi region have withdrawn an amount of Rs 4.74 billion from their accounts of various banks through the India Post Payments Bank. At the same time, around 55 thousand people have withdrawn more than Rs 23 crore during this financial year so far. This initiative of the Department of Posts has made the concept of 'Your Bank, Aapke Dwar' come true. People have appreciated it and they are taking advantage of this facility with great enthusiasm.
Postmaster General Shri Krishna Kumar Yadav said that helpless people who are physically handicapped, aged or living in remote rural areas where ATM facility is not available, even there by going to the postman of the Postal department and withdrawing money from the bank accounts.
It is worth mentioning that under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, three instalments of 2,000 rupees are released annually under 'Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi' as a welfare scheme for farmers across the country. More than two crore farmers of Uttar Pradesh are getting direct benefit from this scheme. On Tuesday, Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, along with virtual interaction with the beneficiaries of Garib Kalyan Yojana in Shimla, released Kisan Samman Nidhi of two thousand rupees each in the accounts of small and marginal farmers of the country. Now farmers will be able to withdraw this amount through postman sitting at home.
