To commemorate the 75th anniversary of the country's independence, India is celebrating the "Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav". On this occasion, the 'Har Ghar Tiranga' campaign has been announced by the Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi. Under this campaign, the Prime Minister has appealed to all the citizens of the country to hoist national tricolor flag in their homes from 13 to 15 August. India Post will play vital role in supply of Indian national flag to every home under 'Har Ghar Tiranga' campaign. Postmaster General Shri Krishna Kumar Yadav told that the national flag will be available for sale in all the Head post offices from August 1, which can be purchased just for Rs. 25/- and can be hoisted at their homes. Soon it will be available at other post offices also.
Postmaster General Shri Krishna Kumar Yadav said that Department of Posts has been entrusted with the responsibility to utilize its vast physical reach and manpower present in each and every corner of the country to inform the citizens about the importance of this campaign through a comprehensive outreach campaign. Accordingly, postal officials would also motivate their families and people around them to join this campaign and hoist the tricolor. Mr. Yadav further added, On the occasion of 75th Independence Day by the Government of India, under the 'Har Ghar Tiranga' campaign, a selfie point (philately frame of national flag along with postage stamps and special covers issued on the freedom struggle) in every head post office will also be installed. Public will be encouraged to take selfies at this selfie point and share them on social media handles of India Post and Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav tagging #Indiapost4Tiranga and #HarGharTiranga . Along with the campaign on social media, Prabhat Pheri will also be organized with the participation of postal workers and local citizens, said Mr. Yadav.
