In order to make people aware about the 'Har Ghar Tiranga' campaign on 'Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav', the Department of Posts launched a public awareness campaign through Prabhat Pheri in Varanasi on 5th August. Mr. Krishna Kumar Yadav, Postmaster General, Varanasi Region flagged off it from the Head Post Office, Varanasi at Visheshwarganj and culminated at Namo Ghat (Khidikiya Ghat) on the banks of the Ganges. More than 200 postal officials including Senior Superintendent of Post Offices Mr. Rajan Rao, Superintendent of Posts Mr. PC Tiwari, Assistant Director Mr. Brijesh Sharma, Senior Postmaster Mr. C.S. Barua, IPPB Manager Mr. Sublesh Singh participated in it and under the 'Har Ghar Tiranga' campaign, people were motivated to put up the national flag at their homes and buy the tricolor from the Post Offices.
This campaign of the Department of Posts resonated amidst the loud proclamation of “Bharat Mata ki jai”, “Vande Mataram”, “India Post ne thaana hai-har ghar tiranga pahuchana hai”, “Har ghar tiranga, har man tiranga”, “Aapka Dost, India Post”, “Vijayee viswa tiranga pyara-jhanda uncha rahe hamaara” reached Namo Ghat via Visheshwarganj, Machodari Park, Birla Hospital, Gaighat, Kashi Railway Station, Swami Narayan Mandir, Prahlad Ghat, Rajghat. The people of Varanasi standing at roadside shops and houses also raised slogans and expressed their enthusiasm for the 'Har Ghar Tiranga' campaign. In between, the public was also informed about the general rules for hoisting the national flag.
Postmaster General Mr. Krishna Kumar Yadav said that the Department of Posts is playing an vital role in the 'Har Ghar Tiranga' campaign under 'Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav'. The tricolor is being sold through post offices in cities as well as in remote rural areas for only Rs. 25 (including GST). This tricolor of 20”x30” made of polyester can also be purchased online through e-Post Office portal www.epostoffice.gov.in and can be obtained at doorstep without any home delivery charges. For wide publicity, postmen are motivating people to hoist the tricolor at their homes from August 13 to 15 while distributing mail in the area, also, a special campaign is being run by the Department of Posts on social media as well. This campaign is working to take the collective consciousness of patriotism from door to door. Mr. Yadav said that the organizations or individuals who want to buy tricolors in bulk can apply with their details at the nearest post office. Tricolor flags will also be supplied to them soon. The primary target is to sell 1.25 lakh tricolors from the post offices of Varanasi Region, out of which 47 thousand flags have been made available at the post offices counters.

Rashidi, Ajay Kumar Maurya, Postal Inspector Shrikant Pal, Ramesh Yadav, Inderjit Pal, Sarvesh Singh, Sriprakash Gupta, Shravan Kumar Singh, C. Anitha, Ajita, Manish Kumar, Rajendra Yadav, Vivek Kumar, Jagdish Chandra Sadeja, Bhupendra Kumar, Vishwanath, Harishankar Yadav were present along with many officials of Postal dept.
