Governor of Uttar Pradesh gives away 'Dak Sewa Award' to Postal Employees of UP Postal Circle

The Hon’ble Governor of Uttar Pradesh, Shri Ram Naik awarded ‘Dak Sewa Award’ to Postal Employees of Uttar Pradesh Postal Circle in a grand function organized at Lucknow GPO. The Chief Guest of the event, Governor of Uttar Pradesh awarded 9 ‘Dak Sewa Award’ including 6 postal employees in individual category and 3 offices for cleanliness and sanitation during the closing ceremony of National Postal Week on October15, 2018. 


Shri Bharat Singh, Postman Lucknow GPO, Shri Satendra Singh, Branch Postmaster, Sahan Branch Post Office, Mainpuri, Shri Nitish Gaur, Postal Assistant, Regional Office Gorakhpur, Shri Ranjeet Singh, Section Supervisor, UP Circle Office, Lucknow, Shri Rajeev Tiwari, Assistant. Superintendent of Post Offices, Orai Sub Division, Jhansi and Ms. Priyanka Mishra, Senior Superintendent of Post Offices, Ghaziabad Division were facilitated with ‘Dak Sewa Award’ along with commendation certificate and cash prize. In the category of cleanest Post Office, Railway Mail Service Office and Speed Post Centre   Lucknow GPO, Jhansi Railway Mail Service, and Agra National Speed Post Centre were awarded respectively.

In his remarks on the occasion, Shri Ram Naik, Hon’ble Governor of Uttar Pradesh said that Department of Posts is one of the oldest departments in the country. It has reach to every corner of the country and people have intimate attachments with Post Offices. In the times of changing modes of communication, the department has played an instrumental role in providing utility services to the last person in the society by adopting new technology.He said that the role of India Posts has become prominent in the field of Digital India & financial inclusion. Various schemes of Central Government are being implemented through Dept. of Posts. Services like Aadhar enrollment, Passport Service, Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana under ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padao’ etc. have brought Post Offices more close to the public. Further, he added that the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has recently inaugurated the India Post Payments Bank as an initiative for people from remote areas financially. When the country is going digital, the vision of “Aapka Bank, Aapka Dwar” will be realized by the postman knocking at the doors with ‘Mobile App’.
On this occasion, Shri Vinay Prakash Singh, Chief Postmaster General, Uttar Pradesh Postal Circle, referring to the advancements in Postal Services stated that Department of Posts is ready to play new roles in the changing scenario. The Dept. is fulfilling needs of public with innovative technology in areas like savings, banking, insurance, e-commerce etc. After launch of India Post Payments Bank, benefits of various social security schemes will be directly credited to accounts of people of remote rural areas under Direct Benefit Transfer. The Dept. of Posts is committed to provide various social security and public welfare schemes of the government to the last civilian.

Shri Krishna Kumar Yadav, Director Postal Services Lucknow (Head Quarter) Region, Uttar Pradesh while giving vote of thanks said that it is for the first time in the history of Uttar Pradesh Postal Services that Governor is giving away “Dak Sewa Award” for excellence in postal services. Honors and awards always encourage and inspire people and it will take the Department of Posts on new heights.








On this occasion Postmasters General Shri R. K. B. Singh, Bareilly Region, Smt. Manisha Sinha, Agra Region, Shri Vinod Kumar Verma, Kanpur Region, Shri Pranav Kumar, Varanasi Region, Shri Sanjay Singh, Gorakhpur Region, Director H.Q. Shri Rajeev Umrao, Chief Postmaster Lucknow GPO, Shri Yogendra Maurya, Assistant Directors Shri R. N. Yadav, Bhola Shah, R. K. Mishra, Om Prakash Chauhan, A. P. Asthana, Deputy Chief Postmaster of Lucknow GPO Madhusudan Mishra, T. P. Singh were present along with departmental officers/employees.
