Postal Department is broadening its services with innovation - Postmaster General Krishna Kumar Yadav

Varanasi: While the Department of Posts is constantly broadening its services with innovation, in the era of the global pandemic Corona, postal official did not care about their lives and played an important role as Corona Warriors. In the midst of the Corona epidemic, postal services created new dimensions as essential services. Postmaster General Mr. Krishna Kumar Yadav expressed these views while, chaired the meeting held on 23 February, 2020 to review the work of various Postal divisions of Varanasi Region.

 In the Regional office at Cantt Head Post Office campus, all Divisional Heads including Varanasi East, Varanasi West, Ghazipur, Jaunpur and Ballia gave a detailed presentation on the progress of postal services, various schemes and target achievements.  During this, Assistant Superintendent of Post Offices and Sub Divisional Inspectors of various districts were also present.

After reviewing the work of various Divisions and post offices, Postmaster General Mr. Krishna Kumar Yadav said that in Varanasi Region 2.69 lakh new savings accounts, 1.52 lakh India Post Payments bank accounts, 15,000 Sukanya Samriddhi Accounts were opened in this financial year during corona period. 260 villages were covered as 'Sampoorna Sukanya Samriddhi Gram', while 55 villages as 'Sampoorna Bima Gram'.  2.63 lakh people availed Aadhaar services in post offices.  Speed post services  in Varanasi Region earned a revenue of Rs 6.54 crore, business development services Rs 2.32 crore and savings bank services earned Rs 71 crore.  A total premium of Rs 21.71 crore was deposited in Postal Life Insurance and Rs 5.37 crore in Rural Postal Life Insurance during the period.

Postmaster General Mr. Krishna Kumar Yadav said that the Department of Posts is doing all the people-oriented tasks like Savings Bank, Postal Life Insurance, Sukanya Samriddhi Account, India Post Payments Bank, Post Office Passport Seva Kendra, Aadhaar Enrollment and Updation along with the letters. He directed the Divisional heads to campaign extensively in the remaining month of the financial year and focus on the achievement of the targets allocated in various services.

On this occasion, Sumit Kumar Gat, Sr. Supdt. of Post Offices, Varanasi East Dn., Ram Milan, SPOs Varanasi West Dn., PC Tiwari, SPOs Jaunpur, BK Pandey, SPOs Ghazipur, Pankaj Tripathi, SPOs Ballia, Assistant Director Shambhu Rai and Praveen Prasoon were also present. All Divisional Heads said that, by regular Interaction with the public and customers in the field and setting up camps, more and more business will be earned in various fields.
