Varanasi Postal Region made 205 villages as 'Sampoorna Bima Gram' by insuring all eligible people

The Department of Posts is also working in the field of Life Insurance for a long time. Introduced on 1 February 1884, 'Post Life Insurance' is the oldest insurance scheme for government and semi-government employees in India, which can now be availed by private sector professionals as well. The above words were expressed by the Postmaster General of Varanasi Zone, Shri Krishna Kumar Yadav on 'Post Life Insurance Day' under 'National Post Week'. Shri RB Maurya and Shri B.B. Mishra on getting the first and third position respectively, Postmaster General Mr. Krishna Kumar Yadav honored them by providing certificates and cash amount on behalf of Chief Postmaster General, Uttar Pradesh Circle. On the occasion of Postal Life Insurance Day, more than 2500 people took postal life insurance and rural postal life insurance policies in the camps organized at 62 places of 6 districts under Varanasi region and wished them a happy future by handing over policy bonds to the insured.

Postmaster General Mr. Krishna Kumar Yadav said that the Department of Posts is constantly setting new dimensions in the field of insurance. There are many life insurance schemes in the post offices according to the age and requirement of the people, including Suraksha, Santosh, Suvidha, Couple Suraksha, Sumangal and Children Policy. At present, there are more than 1.38 lakh policies in the postal life insurance and rural postal life insurance in the Varanasi region. During the Corona epidemic, more than 6,000 policies were issued in this financial year. Life insurance has become an integral necessity in today's era in view of the magnitude of the corona pandemic, thereby increasing the demand for postal life insurance, which is 100% owned by the Government of India. In an innovative initiative, 205 villages of Varanasi region have been made 'Sampoorna Bima Gram' by insuring all eligible people.

Postmaster General Shri Krishna Kumar Yadav said that the Department of Posts has also made insurance services online through MCcamish software under Core Insurance Service by adopting innovative technology. Now the premium amount can be deposited online.

Referring to the benefits under postal life insurance, Senior Superintendent of Post Office Varanasi East Division Shri Rajan said that the government's guarantee on the security of investment, income tax exemption under section 80, low premium and high bonus, loan facility on policy, online Premium deposit facility, premium deposit facility at any post office in the country and discount on advance premium are given.
