India Post Payments Bank of the Department of Posts has come up with a special Group Accidental Guard Insurance for those who are unable to get insurance at a high premium, in which the beneficiary will be insured for Rs 10 lakh with a premium of just Rs 299 and Rs 399 in a year. After the end of one year, this insurance will have to be renewed for the next year. To avail insurance, it is mandatory that beneficiary must have a saving account in India Post Payments Bank. The above information was given by Shri Krishna Kumar Yadav, Postmaster General of Varanasi Region.
Postmaster General, Shri Krishna Kumar Yadav said that under an agreement signed between India Post Payments Bank and Tata AIG, people in the age group of 18 to 65 years will get this group accident insurance cover. Under this, both types of insurance will provide a cover of Rs 10 lakh in case of accidental death, permanent or partial total disability, amputation or paralyze. Along with this, IPD expenses of up to Rs 60,000 for treatment during hospitalization due to accident and up to Rs 30,000 OPD claim will be available. In addition to all the aforementioned benefits, in insurance of premium Rs 399, expenses of up to one lakh for the education of two children, one thousand daily expenses in the hospital for ten days, transport expenses up to Rs 25,000 for the family living in any other city and in case of death, the cost of funeral will be given up to Rs.5,000, said Mr. Yadav.
To avail this insurance facility, people can approach to their nearest post office. Moreover, 'Mission Suraksha' campaign is being run by the Department of Posts till August 15 to cover maximum number of people under this insurance scheme.
