Rakshabandhan festival, a symbol of brother-sister love, will be celebrated on 11th August and for this the Postal Department has already started preparations. Postmaster General of Varanasi Region, Shri Krishna Kumar Yadav released specially made colorful designer waterproof Rakhi envelopes in a function organized at Varanasi Cantt. Head Post Office. These special Rakhi envelopes will now be available for sale in the Post offices of Varanasi, Bhadohi, Chandauli, Jaunpur, Ghazipur and Ballia districts under Varanasi Region.
Postmaster General, Shri Krishna Kumar Yadav informed that these designer Rakhi envelopes are waterproof and strong from the point of view of security, so that even in rainy season the Rakhi sent by sisters can reach the distant brothers safely. The cost of these 11 cm X 22 cm size Rakhi envelopes is ₹ 10 only which is in addition to the postage charges. Rakhi envelope in English with the logo of India Post and Rakshabandhan design on the upper left side of the waterproof envelope and 'Happy Rakhi' written on the lower right side. On the back of the Rakhi envelope, the logo of Amrit Mahotsav of Independence and Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao is also inscribed. Postmaster General Shri Krishna Kumar Yadav said that being colorful and specially designed; it would save time in segregating them from other mails and would also help in getting them delivered before Rakshabandhan festival.
Senior Superintendent of Post offices, Varanasi Shri Rajan and Superintendent of Post offices Shri PC Tiwari informed that Rakhi envelopes are available in Varanasi Head Post Office, Cantt Head Post Office and also in other Sub Post offices named Hindu Vishwavidyalaya, Lanka, Sarnath, Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Nagar, Varanasi City, Chandauli MDG, DLW, Shivpur, Kamachha, Kashi Vidyapeeth, Sampurnanand Sanskrit University, Gyanpur, Bhadohi, Bhelupur, Rajatalab, Sewapuri, Cholapur, Kabirchaura, Bengali Tola, Kashi R.S., Mahamandal, Sakaldiha, Dhanapur, Chakia, Cholapur, Chaubepur, Ramnagar, Mangari, Also available at Manduwadih, Gopiganj, Aurai, Maharajganj, Baragaon Post Offices of Varanasi East & West Division.
