India Post Payments Bank established as an undertaking of the Department of Posts has made a new identity in a short span of time. It has played an important role in the field of financial inclusion and to cater digital banking services even in rural areas. Many social welfare schemes of the Central and State Government are being delivered through this up to the last mile of the society. Department of Posts is committed for improving the lives of citizens who do not have an easy access to insurance and other financial services. It was expressed by the Mr. Krishna Kumar Yadav, Postmaster General, Varanasi Region while inaugurating the Regional Meet of the Department of Posts and India Post Payments Bank at Varanasi. On this occasion excellent performers for IPPB were also felicitated by Postmaster General.
Postmaster General Mr. Krishna Kumar Yadav said that in present scenario postman and Gramin Dak Sevaks are functioning as mobile banks due to being equipped with micro-ATM of IPPB. Many services like Aadhaar enrolment of children, updation of mobile number in Aadhaar, digital life certificate, DBT, bill payment, AEPS, insurance of vehicles, health insurance, accidental insurance, Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana, etc. are being provided at door steps through postman. IPPB account holders can also deposit online in other schemes of Post office like Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana, RD, PPF, Postal Life Insurance.
On this occasion, Postmaster General Mr. Krishna Kumar Yadav also launched the sale of Bajaj Allianz Life Smart Protect Goal and Bajaj Allianz Life Guaranteed Pension Goal in partnership with India Post Payments Bank. Bajaj Allianz Life Smart Protect Goal is a comprehensive and value-added term insurance product designed to provide immediate financial support to a family in the event of the untimely death of the head earner of the household. Bajaj Allianz Life Guaranteed Pension Goal is an annuity insurance plan which aims to meet the post retirement expenses of the individual as it provides guaranteed and assured regular income till his/her survival.
