As Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi released the highly anticipated 17th instalment of the 'Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana' in 'Kisan Samman sammelan' program organized in Varanasi on 18th June, the beneficiaries farmer and their families were delighted. Prime Minister transferred Rs. 20,000 crore to the accounts of more than 9 crore beneficiary farmers across the country through DBT. Now, these farmers can withdraw this amount from their bank accounts directly at their doorstep. Postmaster General of Varanasi and Prayagraj Region Mr. Krishna Kumar Yadav said that beneficiary farmers can withdraw the DBT amount received in their bank accounts through postman at their doorstep. For this, farmers need not to visit any bank branch or ATM. An amount of up to Rs. 10,000 can be withdrawn in a day from any Aadhaar linked bank account through Aadhaar Enabled Payment System at doorstep. The Post Office does not charge any fee for this.
Under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi, beneficiary farmers receives financial assistance of Rs 6,000 every year. This amount is transferred to their bank accounts through DBT in three instalments of Rs 2,000 each at an interval of every 4 months.
“Farmers can withdraw the DBT amount received in their bank accounts under 'Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi' through the postman at their doorstep. An amount of up to Rs 10,000 can be withdrawn in a day through Aadhaar Enabled Payment System. They do not have to visit to any bank or ATM for the same” - Postmaster General Mr. Krishna Kumar Yadav
