Postal department launches service to transfer money via Mobile Phone

ALLAHABAD: Sending and receiving a money order will be easier now than ever as India Post introduces money order facility through mobile phones. Under the Mobile Money Transfer Service (MMTS) minimum amount of Rs. 1,000 and maximum of Rs. 10,000 can be sent in a single transaction, whereas there is no limit to the maximum number of transactions made in a day.

Inaugurating the service at Allahabad Kutchery Head Post Office, Krishna Kumar Yadav director Postal Services Allahabad region said Mobile Money Transfer is a financial service is a facility for remittance and receiving of money at selected post offices. The director launched the service by sending money from Allahabad Kutchery Head Post Office to Pratapgarh Head Post Office.

Yadav said rates of the service have been fixed low, keeping in mind needs of customers. A person sending money through MMTS will be charged Rs 45 for sending money in the range of Rs 1,000-Rs 1,500, Rs 79 for an amount between Rs 1,501 and Rs 5,000 and Rs 112 for money transfer for an amount from Rs 5,001 to Rs 10,000.

In the pilot phase this service has been started in 136 post offices of Uttar Pradesh, whereas 19 offices of Allahabad Region have been covered in this phase. It will be the priority of the department to cover offices in rural and remote areas under the service. In Allahabad, the service has been started in Bamaila, Atraura and Aura branch post offices, Mau Aima Sub Office and Allahabad Kutchery Head Post Office.

Yadav added that the Department of Post had partnered with state-run BSNL to launch the mobile money transfer service. BSNL will handle the technology backend for the department and provide connectivity.

Under Mobile Money Transfer Service, customers will have the facility to send money anywhere in the country. Specially designed mobile handsets with preinstalled mobile money transfer application have been provided to the offices selected to carry out this service.

The sender needs to visit the identified post office where the service is available, deposit the amount and give the receiver's details in the prescribed form. After this, the sender would get a six-digit transfer code on the mobile phone, which one would need to send to the recipient via SMS or through any other mean. Similar SMS will also be sent to the receiver and the counter clerk automatically by the system, but only the SMS sent to the sender will contain the six-digit secret code. The recipient can claim the money at a nearby post office, by showing the transaction code and verifying one's identity. Recipient also needs to withdraw money within seven days of transaction.

On the occasion of inauguration of the service senior superintendent of Post Offices, Allahabad, Rahmatullah, assistant directors R N Yadav and M P Mishra, Postmaster Allahabad Kutchery, HPO A K Shukla, and others were present along with other officials.

Instant money order a boon for customers

ALLAHABAD: Gone are the days when you waited anxiously for the postman to arrive with money order. India Post's i-MO is a web-based instant money transfer service offered by India Post to transfer money between two resident individuals within India.

Director postal services, Allahabad region, Krishna Kumar Yadav told TOI that money transferred through i-MO can be received by the payee within few minutes of the transfer. To make this user more cost-efficient for customers i-MO tariffs have been reduced lately.

I-MO is an instant, reliable, affordable and most convenient way for transferring money within the country, for sending an amount up to Rs 50,000 a customer has to pay only Rs 120. Now, customers have to pay Rs 100 for an amount of Rs 1,000-10,000, Rs 110 for transfer between Rs 10,001 and 30,000, and Rs 120 for transfer between Rs 30,001 and Rs 50,000. The facility of ordinary money order is already being provided by India Post, in which Rs five is charged per Rs 100. The instant money order is much faster and efficient compared to ordinary money order.

 

Further Mr. KK Yadav added that, to send money through i-MO, a customer is required to fill a "To Remit Payment Form" and submit it with money and i-MO commission at i-MO post office counter. i-MO counter clerk will give a printed receipt immediately after booking the i-MO that contains 16 digits i-MO number. This 16 digits i-MO number has to be conveyed by sender to the receiver over phone, SMS, or e-Mail or any other means. Receiver can collect money from any designated i-MO Post Office counter on presentation of the 16 digits i-MO number. He will be required to fill up a simple "To Make Payment Form" and submit it along with a copy of any of the prescribed Identity Proofs.

अब मोबाइल से जायेगा मनीआर्डर

भारतीय डाक वक़्त के साथ कदमताल की प्रक्रिया में नित नई-नई योजनायें आरंभ कर रहा है. टेक्नालाजी का बढ़ता प्रयोग डाक विभाग को और असरदार बना रहा है. इसी क्रम में 1 जून को डाक विभाग ने मोबाइल फोन पर एसएमएस के माध्यम से मनीआर्डर भेजने की योजना चंडीगढ़ में आरंभ की । इसका शुभारम्भ केंद्रीय गृह राज्य राज्य एवं सूचना प्रोद्योगिकी मंत्री गुरुदास कामत ने किया. योजना के तहत देश भर में मोबाइल से मनीआर्डर भेजे जा सकेंगे। फिलहाल यह योजना पंजाब-बिहार के 20 डाक घरों में शुरू की गई है।

गौरतलब है कि भारतीय डाक दुनिया का सबसे बड़ा डाक-नेटवर्क है। इसके तहत 9 करोड़ मनीआर्डर हर साल डाक द्वारा देशभर में भेजे जाते हैं। अभी तक ई-पोस्ट द्वारा पत्रों को पंख लग गए थे, अब मोबाइल फोन पर एसएमएस के माध्यम से मनीआर्डर भेजने से काफी सहूलियत हो जाएगी. इससे पहले डाक विभाग ने इंस्टेंट मनीआर्डर और इलेक्ट्रानिक मनीआर्डर सेवा भी आरंभ की है.

वाकई, डाक विभाग ने इस योजना से मनीआर्डर से पैसा पहुँचाने को गति दी है। भविष्य में इसे उन राज्यों में शुरु किया जाएगा, जहाँ से बड़ी संख्या में मनीआर्डर भेजे जाते हैं।

मोबाइल मनीआर्डर से जिस व्यक्ति को पैसा भेजना है उसका नाम-पता व मोबाइल नंबर डाकखाने में देना होगा। इसके बाद धनराशि का भुगतान करते ही यह सूचना एसएमएस के माध्यम से मनीआर्डर पाने वाले व संबंधित क्षेत्र के डाकघर को चली जाएगी। मनीआर्डर लेने वाला व्यक्ति उस डाकघर में जाकर या अपने घर पर धनराशि हासिल कर सकेगा। इससे 50 हजार तक राशि भेजी जा सकती है।

ई-मनीआर्डर से झट मिलेगा धन

डाक विभाग की मनीआर्डर सेवा अब इलेक्ट्रनिक नेटवर्क से जुड़ गई है। जहाँ पहले मनीआर्डर देश के विभिन्न भागो में मैनुअली भेजा जाता था, वहीं अब यह कम्प्यूटर नेेटवर्क के माध्यम से भेजा जायेगा, ताकि मनीआर्डर प्रेषण की गति को तीव्रतम किया जा सके। इस सेवा में मनीआर्डर भेजने वाले को कोई अतिरिक्त शुल्क नहीं देना होगा। मनीआर्डर प्रेषक को बुकिंग कार्यालय द्वारा 18 अंक का एक पी0एन0आर0 नम्बर उपलब्ध कराया जायेगा, जिसके माध्यम से वह मनीआर्डर के पेमेन्ट के संबंध में ट्रैक एवं ट्रेस द्वारा जानकारी प्राप्त कर सकता है। भुगतानकर्ता डाकघर द्वारा प्रिन्टआउट निकाल कर डाकिया द्वारा तत्काल पेमेन्ट कराया जायेगा और उसी दिन भुगतानकर्ता डाकघर द्वारा नेट पर पेमेन्ट के संबंध में जानकारी डाल दी जायेगी और बुकिंग आफिस के पास भुगतान की सूचना तत्काल इलेक्ट्रानिक नेटवर्क द्वारा पहुँच जायेगी। इलेक्ट्रानिक मनीआर्डर सर्विस में साधारण मनीआर्डर फार्म की जगह अलग तरह के फार्म प्रयुक्त होंगे, जिसके लिए कोई शुल्क नहीं लिया जायेगा। मनीआर्डर में सन्देश की जगह को भी Standardised कर दिया गया है और विभिन्न कार्यो हेतु कुल 21 तरह के संदेश भेजे जा सकते हैं। मनीआर्डर भेजने वाला फार्म पर इस कोड मात्र को अंकित कर देगा।

गौरतलब है कि वर्तमान में एक बार में 5000 रूपये तक के मनीआर्डर भेजे जा सकते हैं और इसके लिए प्रति 20 रूपये हेतु मात्र 1 रूपये शुल्क रूप में लिये जाते हैं। इलेक्ट्रानिक मनीआर्डर के तहत भी मात्र यही शुल्क लिया जायेगा और इलेक्ट्रानिक ट्रान्समिशन हेतु ग्राहकों से कोई भी अतिरिक्त शुल्क नहीं लिया जायेगा।

धन प्रेषण हेतु डाक विभाग की अन्य प्रचलित सेवायें :-
१- तत्काल धनादेश सेवा- डाक विभाग की इस आनलाइन मनी ट्रान्सफर सेवा में न्यूनतम 1,000 रूपये से अधिकतम 50,000 रूपये तक एक बार में भारत में कहीं भी भेजे जा सकते हैं। इसमें प्रथमतः 1,000 - 5,000 हेतु रूपये 150 एवं तद्ोपरान्त प्रति 5,000 पर 20 रूपये अतिरिक्त शुल्क जुड़ते जायेंगे। अर्थात् मात्र 330 रूपये में 50,000 रूपये की राशि भेजी जा सकती है।

२-स्पीड पोस्ट मनीआर्डर सेवा- यह साधारण मनीआर्डर सेवा में वैल्यू-एडीशन है। साधारण मनीआर्डर शुल्क में मात्र 10 रूपये अतिरिक्त जोड़कर उसे स्पीड पोस्ट के माध्यम से भारत में भेजा जा सकता है।

३- इण्टरनेशनल मनी ट्रान्सफर सेवा- वेस्टर्न यूनियन कम्पनी के साथ समझौते के तहत विदेशों से चिन्हित डाकघरों के माध्यम से धन की प्राप्ति।
