India Post announces 'Republic Day-2015 Stamp Design competition' with 'Clean India' theme

It's every person's dream that pictures designed by them appear on a Postage Stamp as a souvenir. Postal Department has come up with a golden opportunity for people with artistic talents, where picture designed by them will be depicted on a Postage Stamp.

 Mr. Krishna Kumar Yadav, Director Postal Services, Allahabad Region informed that Department of Posts is holding a 'Republic Day 2015- Stamp design competition.' The theme of the competition is 'Clean India' and under this competition any citizen of India can participate. Mr. Yadav told that the design could be in ink, water colour, oil colour and any other medium but computer printed/print out will not be allowed. The design submitted should be such that it can be depicted on the stamps in a visually appealing manner so as to be of interest to philatelic collectors. 

Director Mr. KK Yadav also informed that particulars i.e. name of the participants, age, nationality, full and complete residential address with pin code, phone/mobile no. and e-mail ID is to be written legibly on the reverse of the design. An undertaking stating that 'The artwork submitted is original and no copyright issues are involved' should be sent along with the entry. Design should be sent without being folded, through Speed Post only in A-4 size envelope and participant should mention "Republic Day 2015- Stamp Design Contest" on the envelope. The entries should be sent to Asstt. Director General (Philately), Room no. 108 (B), Dak Bhawan, Parliament Street, New Delhi-110001 by 15th October, 2014, added Mr. Yadav.

Mr. Krishna Kumar Yadav, Director Postal Services, Allahabad Region said that the winning entries will also be awarded on national level Rs. 10,000/- for first prize, Rs. 6,000/- for second prize, and Rs. 4,000/- for third prize respectively.
