A programme was organized by Postal Department on the occasion of World Post Day i.e on 9th October in Allahabad Head Post Office located at Civil Lines. During the programme the changes taking place in Postal Service sector were outlined along-with the importance of Allahabad in the field of Postal Services. Mr. Krishna Kumar Yadav, Director Postal Services, Allahabad Region, inaugurated the programme on "World Postal Day" and 'National Postal Week' by lightening the lamp.
On this occasion Director Postal Services, Mr. Krishna Kumar Yadav in his address said that the history of Postal Services is linked with culture, heritage and economy of the Indian people. He explained about the working of Universal Postal Union, in his address. He also urged the postal officials to be more dedicated about their work. He said that Postal Department has out lasted centuries and a number of unknown aspects of history are hidden in its glorious past. Mr. Yadav said that Allahabad holds an important place in Postal Services. A number of Postal Services were started in Allahabad and it has still preserved these heritages.
Further In his address Director Postal Services, Mr. Krishna Kumar Yadav said that the network of Postal Services is too vast and its services will also be utilized in making people aware about "National Cleaning Campaign". Where the Postal Employees will make people aware of it at his own level at the same time the Postmen of Postal Department will also play a lead role in adding the people with this campaign. Apart from this, Postal Department will also deliver the letters during Postal week having stamp of "National Cleaning Drive" on it from its Head Post Offices so as to make a large no. of people aware of this Drive. Mr. Yadav said that Postal Department can earn more revenue by communicating with peoples and by providing them effective informations regarding postal services.
On this occasion, Postal employees were felicitated by Director Postal Services, Shri Krishna Kumar Yadav for their outstanding performance in various fields. Which include Rajnish Srivastava, Marketing Executive for Business Development; Santosh Ram, Postman, Allahabad HO, Ram Murti, Postman, Allahabad Kutchery HO, Suresh Chandra Patel, Postman, Jalalpur for delivery performance; and Rajendra Prasad, Sweeper for Cleanness.
Mr. Rahmatullah, Senior Superintendent of Post Offices, Allahabad, welcomed the guests and Mr. T B Singh; Assistant Director gave vote of thanks. Proceeding of the programme was conducted by Mr. Madhusudan Prasad Mishra, Assistant Director.
