Postal Orders worth more than one crore sold in Allahabad in October

While on one hand government is declaring new vacancies, maximum number of applications are being made in Allahabad. A huge number of applicants are gathering in Post Offices to apply for these vacancies. During the ongoing recruitment process of LT grade posts, a record number of Indian Postal Orders have been sold by the Post Offices. This amount of sale of Postal Orders is unprecedented. 

Mr. Krishna Kumar Yadav, Director Postal Services, Allahabad Region said that a huge increase have been observed in the sale of Indian Postal Orders. In Allahabad District itself, IPOs worth more than 1.25 crore have been sold in the month of October. While ordinarily Postal Orders worth a few lakh rupees are sold throughout the month, now after declaration of LT grade recruitments by UP Government, 5 to 10 lakh worth of  Postal Orders are being sold on daily basis. It is worthwhile to mention here that Postal Department charges Rs. 10 as commission on Postal Order of Rs. 100. Director Postal Services, Mr. Yadav said that in the month of October a commission of about 12.5 lakh have been collected.
