Allahabad City Post Office situated at Johnstenganj has started working
in a new departmental building near Allahabad Railway Station (in front of
Prayag Hotel) in the campus of Railway Mail Service wef 29 September, 2014. On this occasion, Post
Master General Mr. M. E. Haque inaugurated the functioning by ribbon cutting at
new building. Post Master General Mr. M.
E. Haque said that after shifting to new building, staff and customers will
have a pleasant atmosphere. Now other services shall be started at this Sub Post
Office.
Mr. Krishna Kumar Yadav, Director Postal Services, Allahabad Region
said that Allahabad City Post Office is the first Sub Post office in Allahabad
city started functioning in departmental building. This newly shifted Post
Office is at a distance of about 500 meters from the old place. In the new Post
Office working in departmental building, four fully computerized counters have
been started for customers. Other than this the office of Assistant
Superintendent of Post Office (Central) will also work in the same building.
It is worthwhile to mention here that Allahabad City Post Office
delivers mail for areas of Johnstenganj, Ahmadganj, Dairashah Azmal, Kalyani
Devi, Chowk, Kudganj, V. N. Marg, Hindi Sahitya Sammelan, Bahadurganj,
Mutthiganj, Katghar, Hatia, Krishnanagar, Meerapur, Roshanbagh, Nehru Nagar,
and Nurullah Road etc.
On this occasion a number of officers including Senior Superintendent
of Post Offices Mr. Rahmatullah, Asst. Director Mr. MP Mishra, Assistant Supdt.
of Posts P. C. Tiwari, Postmaster Mr. G. K. Mishra were present.
