Paint 'A day with my Grand Parents' for ticket to posterity

If you desire that your painting be issued in the shape of Postage stamp, Department of Posts is affording an opportunity. The stamp design competition is being organized at National level by the Department of Posts in which the best painting will be issued in the shape of postage stamps on Children Day next year. Mr Krishna Kumar Yadav, Director Postal Services, Allahabad Region said that Department of Post has been organizing Stamp design competition since 1998 and the participation of children and students to design the postage stamp is ensured by this activity.

Director Postal Services, Allahabad Region Mr. Krishna Kumar Yadav told that the subject prescribed for this year's design a stamp is 'A day with my Grand Parents'. The design could be in ink water colour, oil colour or any other medium. Participants are free to use drawing paper, art paper or any other type of paper. The participants are to make an original design on this subject. Mr. Yadav further added that there will be three groups of participant's viz. upto Class IV standard, Class V to VIII standard and Class IX to XII standard and accordingly there will be three levels of prize for all categories. The prize wining design in each category will be considered for use on stamps and other philatelic material. The prize money for all categories will be worth Rs. 10,000/-, 6,000/- and 4,000/- for first, second and third respectively. Mr. Yadav said that The prize winning entries at National level are likely to be chosen for designing the postage stamp, first day cover and miniature sheet.

Further Director Mr. K.K. Yadav said that this competition will be held on 16th November  2013 at 1100 hrs. on Saturday in divisional head quarters of  Allahabad Region. This competition will be organized in Allahabad Head Post Office, Varanasi Head Post Office, Pratapgarh Head Post Office and Jaunpur Head Post Office, Mirzapur Head Post Office and Ghazipur Head Post Office. Nomination of students can be sent to the concerned Sr. Supdt. of Post Offices and Sr. Postmasters latest by 13^th November 2013.

Commemorative Postage stamp on Boys High School, Allahabad on 5th Nov. 2013

Department of Posts have issued Commemorative Postage stamps on various institutions and personalities related to Allahabad from time to time. Now a new name will be added to this list on 5^th November, 2013. Mr. Krishna Kumar Yadav, Director Postal Services, Allahabad Region told that Department of Posts will issue commemorative postage stamp on 5^th November, 2013 on Boys’ High School, Allahabad for its contribution in the field of education. Earlier Department of Posts has issued Commemorative Postage Stamp on Anglo Bengali Inter College on 23^rd December, 2002 also.

It is worthwhile to mention here that Boys’ High School, Allahabad was established on 5^th November, 1861. Alumnus of this school have carved out a niche for themselves in a number of fields including judiciary, executive, legislative, defense forces, and cinema. Personalities like super star of Bollywood Amitabh Bachchan are from this school. This postage stamp will be released by Hon’ble Governor of Uttar Pradesh Mr. B. L. Joshi on 05^th November, 2013 in the premises of Boys High School, Allahabad.

Director, Mr. Krishna Kumar Yadav said that this postage stamp will be released in the denominations of rupees 5 along with First Day Cover and information brochure. Information about the college will be printed in the Information brochure. Philatelists and people with interest in postage stamps may get these stamps with special cancellation on 5^th November itself, and preserve it for their collection. Besides this, this stamp will be made available in Philatelic Bureaues across the country.

ब्वायज हाई स्कूल, इलाहाबाद पर 5 नवम्बर को जारी होगा डाक टिकट

 इलाहाबाद से जुड़े तमाम संस्थानों और हस्तियों पर डाक विभाग द्वारा डाक टिकट जारी किये गये हैं और अब डाक टिकटों की श्रृंखला में एक नया नाम जुड़ने वाला है। इलाहाबाद परिक्षेत्र के निदेशक डाक सेवाएं कृष्ण कुमार यादव ने बताया कि भारतीय डाक विभाग द्वारा ब्वायज हाई स्कूल, इलाहाबाद के शिक्षा के क्षेत्र में योगदान पर 5 नवम्बर, 2013 को एक स्मारक डाक टिकट जारी किया जायेगा। उत्तर प्रदेश के राज्यपाल श्री  बी एल जोशी द्वारा 5 नवम्बर, 2013 को यह डाक टिकट ब्वायज हाई स्कूल, इलाहाबाद के प्रांगण में जारी किया जायेगा।

गौरतलब है कि ब्वायज हाई स्कूल, इलाहाबाद की स्थापना 5 नवम्बर, 1861 को हुयी थी। यहाँ से शिक्षा प्राप्त करने वाले विद्यार्थियों ने विधायिका, कार्यपालिका, न्यायपालिका, रक्षाबल, सिनेमा और अन्य तमाम क्षेत्रों में अपना एक विशिष्ट स्थान बनाया है। ब्वायज हाईस्कूल के पुरा छात्रों में सदी के महानायक अमिताभ बच्चन, सुप्रीमकोर्ट के पूर्व न्यायाधीश न्यायमूर्ति रवि एस धवन, न्यायमूर्ति मार्कंडेय काटजू, न्यायमूर्ति राकेश तिवारी, न्यायमूर्ति डी पी सिंह, न्यायमूर्ति दिलीप गुप्ता, न्यायमूर्ति बालाकृष्ण नारायण, लेफ्टिनेंट जनरल राणा एस के कपूर, विकास स्वरूप, सांसद रेवती रमण सिंह, राज्यसभा के भूतपूर्व महासचिव जे बी जैनी, आई पी एस योगेंद्र नारायण, अजय शर्मा, भारतीय विदेश सेवा के रजनीकांत वर्मा इत्यादि शामिल हैं।

डाक निदेशक कृष्ण कुमार यादव ने बताया कि यह डाक टिकट 5 रूपये मूल्य वर्ग में जारी किया जायेगा और इसके साथ ही प्रथम दिवस आवरण और विवरणिका भी जारी होंगे। विवरणिका में इस कालेज के बारे में जानकारी अंकित होंगी। डाक टिकटों में रुचि रखने वाले लोग 5 नवम्बर को ही इस डाक टिकट को विशेष मोहर से विरूपण कराकर अपने संग्रह में सजो सकेंगे। इसके अलावा देश भर के फिलेटलिक ब्यूरो से इनकी बिक्री होगी।

इससे पूर्व  ब्वायज हाईस्कूल की अर्धशतवर्षीय जयंती पर डाक विभाग द्वारा 5 नवम्बर, 2011 को एक विशेष- आवरण जारी किया जा चुका  है।

Workshop for Marketing Executives in Allahabad on changing postal trends

With the purpose to create awareness among the Marketing Executives about new products, changing work-scenario and to enhance their understanding about Customer-care a one-day workshop was organised on 19th October, 2013 at Civil lines Allahabad GPO for Allahabad Region. The work shop was inaugurated by Mr. Krishna Kumar Yadav, Director Postal Services, Allahabad Region. During workshop Postal Officials were up dated about the latest and upcoming changes and Premium & Financial products of Dept. of Posts through Power Point Presentation.

While addressing the programme as Chief Guest Mr. Krishna Kumar Yadav, Director Postal Services, Allahabad Region said that India Post  proposes to continue its efforts to harness its traditional strengths to modern management practices and appropriate technologies to become more responsive to public needs and expectation, and to make the services more customer friendly, while identifying new opportunities new opportunities to provide value added services and greater access to postal services, in a cost effective manner.

Director Mr. KK Yadav told that  during the recent years, India Post has introduced many value added services. While Speed Post and Express Parcel Post remain most popular premium service, guarantee time bound delivery within time limit, whereas Business Post offers total business solution for all mailing activities includes collection, inserting, addressing, franking etc. For corporate customers and to regular users Speed post also offers home collection, credit facilities, on-line tracking, account management and personalized services.Media Post provides opportunities to corporate customer /government organizations  and other large private institutions to have their products /services advertised on the postal stationeries, letter boxes, mail van, post office premises  etc. Bill Mail service provides posting of financial  statements, bills etc. for Posting at least in 90 days, min. 5000 Articles, whereas Direct post service delivery of Un-addressed mails, cards, brochures, questionnaires, Pamphlets, samples, promotional items like CDs/ Cassettes etc. are done through postman, whereas  Retail Post offer  sale of products/services through Post office Counters. e-Post is facility of transmitting and receiving messages through internet even for those who are not connected with the net. By using e-Post, e mail can be sent to a Post office for delivery through the Postman.

 Addressing Marketing Executives, Director Postal Services Mr. Krishna Kumar Yadav said that their activities in field create an image of department, so they have to be more courteous and responsive for customer. In this era of competition we just cannot sit idle to earn business instead of that we have to approach customers, we have to interact with them about our services and to make them aware of our different services, by this way only we can reach to our goal.

 Sr. Superintendent of Post Offices, Allahabad Division Mr. Rahmatullah said that proper monitoring is being done on all the premium services and by this we are trying to facilitate our customers to the maximum extent.

संचार क्रान्ति के दौर में नये उत्पाद एवं सेवायें आरम्भ कर रहा है डाक विभाग - कृष्ण कुमार यादव

इलाहाबाद डाक परिक्षेत्र के मार्केटिंग एक्जिक्युटिवज को डाक विभाग में नित हो रहे परिवर्तनों से रूबरू कराने के लिए एक दिवसीय कार्यशाला का आयोजन 19 अक्टूबर को सिविल लाइंस स्थित इलाहाबाद जीपीओ में किया गया। कार्यशाला का उद्घाटन इलाहाबाद परिक्षेत्र के निदेशक डाक सेवायें श्री कृष्ण कुमार यादव ने किया। इस अवसर पर इलाहाबाद, वाराणसी, प्रतापगढ, मिर्जापुर, जौनपुर, मिर्जापुर के मार्केटिंग एक्जिक्युटिवज के अलावा जनसंपर्क निरीक्षकों और सहायक डाक अधीक्षकों/डाक निरीक्षकों ने कार्यशाला में भाग लिया। इस अवसर पर विभिन्न डाक सेवाओं के बारे में पावर प्वाइंट द्वारा प्रस्तुति देकर उन्हें अद्यतन व प्रोत्साहित किया गया।

     कार्यशाला का उद्घाटन करते हुए इलाहाबाद परिक्षेत्र के निदेशक डाक सेवायें श्री कृष्ण कुमार यादव ने जहाँ विभिन्न मंडलों में व्यवसाय की समीक्षा की, वहीं अपने संबोधन में कहा कि व्यवसायिकता के इस दौर में बिना स्वस्थ्य प्रतिस्पर्धा के कोई भी संगठन उन्नति नहीं कर सकता और डाक विभाग भी इस क्षेत्र में तमाम नये कदम उठा रहा है। डाक विभाग जहाँ नित् नई सेवायें लागू कर रहा है, वहीं विभाग ने अपनी परम्परागत छवि को प्रतिस्पर्धा के तहत कारपोरेट इमेज में भी तब्दील करने का प्रयास किया है। संचार क्रान्ति के दौर में अपनी सेवाओं को त्वरित बनाने और उनकी गुणवत्ता में वृद्वि हेतु डाक विभाग ने जहाँ सभी डाकघरों को  कम्प्यूटरीकृत  किया है, वहीं ग्राहकों की वर्तमान एवं भावी आवश्यकताओं को पूरा करने के लिये प्रौद्योगिकी आधारित नये उत्पाद एवं सेवायें भी आरम्भ की हैं। 

   डाक निदेशक श्री कृष्ण कुमार यादव ने सेवाओं के बारे में विस्तार से बताते हुए कहा कि, जहाँ स्पीड पोस्ट व एक्सप्रेस पार्सल पोस्ट सेवा निश्चित समय के भीतर सुनिश्चित वितरण की गारण्टी देते हैं वहीं बिजनेस पोस्ट के अन्र्तगत सारी प्रीमेलिंग गतिविधियों को आसान तारीके से निपटाया जाता है। मीडिया पोस्ट के अन्र्तगत डाक स्टेशनरी, लेटर बाक्स, मेल गाड़ी व डाकघरों में विज्ञापन लगाने की सुविधा प्राप्त है तो  रिटेल पोस्ट की मार्फत डाकघर अपने काउन्टरों पर फार्म बेचने और बिल जमा करने की सुविधा प्रदान करते हैं।  बिल मेल सेवा हर तिमाही न्यूनतम 5000 प्रपत्र व बिल एक ही जिले में प्रेषित करने वालों हेतु सामान्य दरों से कम पर सुविधा उपलब्ध कराता है वहीँ डायरेक्ट पोस्ट के तहत बिना पता लिखी डाक के लक्षित जनता के दरवाजे पर डाकियों द्वारा वितरण सुनिश्चित किया जाता है।  श्री  यादव ने कहा कि  बुक नाउ-पे लेटर, बल्क मेल पर छूट, फ्री पिकअप जैसी स्कीमों के तहत डाक सेवाओं को और आकर्षक बनाया गया है। इसके अलावा ई-पोस्ट, ई-पेमेण्ट, लाजिस्टिक पोस्ट, डाक जीवन बीमा, तत्काल धनादेश सेवा, अन्तराष्ट्रीय धन अंतरण सेवा, बचत बैंक सेवायें, फिलेटली  इत्यादि के संबंध में भी  जानकरी दी । 

   निदेशक डाक सेवायें श्री कृष्ण कुमार यादव ने डाक अधिकारियों  से रूबरू होते हुए कहा कि फील्ड में उनकी कार्य गतिविधियाँ ही विभाग के प्रति अवधारणा (इमेज) बनाती हैं, ऐसे में उन्हें ग्राहकों के प्रति ज्यादा संवेदनशील होने की जरुरत है। आज के प्रतियोगी दौर में यह सोचना कि  मात्र काउंटर पर सेवाएँ देकर जनता को आकर्षित किया जा सकता है, उचित नहीं है। ज्यादा राजस्व के लिए हमें खुद लोगों के पास जाना होगा, नियमित संवाद स्थापित करते हुए उन्हें सेवाओं और गुणवत्ता के बारे में जागरूक करना होगा, तभी लक्ष्यों की प्राप्ति हो सकेगी।

  इलाहाबाद मंडल के प्रवर अधीक्षक डाकघर श्री रहतमउल्लाह ने कहा कि डाक सेवाओं की नियमित मानीटरिंग की जा रही है और इनके उन्नयन से जनता को काफी सहूलियत होगी एवं उन्हें डाक विभाग की आधुनिक सेवाओं का लाभ मिल सकेगा।

Postal Life Insurance Day Celebrated

During National Postal Week 15 October, 2013 was celebrated as Postal Life Insurance day. On this occasion Postal Life Insurance Melas were organized in Government/Semi Government offices of Allahabad Region.

On this occasion Mr. Krishna Kumar Yadav, Director Postal Services, Allahabad Region said the Postal Department is serving the public with its savings bank and postal life insurance schemes along with the delivery of the letters. Postal life insurance was started with effect from 01 February 1884 for Central Government/State Government officials, Defence personnel, officials of  Govt. Institutions, Municipal Corporation and boards, Government Universities, employees of Nationalized Banks, additional bodies of State Banks of India and Reserve Bank, operational units under Central/State government, UTI, IDBI and employees of state insurance corporation.

Director Mr. Yadav added that there are 6 schemes of Postal Life Insurance such as Suraksha, Santosh, Suvidha, Yugal Suraksha, Sumangal and Children policy. Rural Postal Life Insurance Scheme for the benefits of villagers also have Gram Santosh, Gram Suraksha, Gram Suvidha, Gram Sumangal, Gram Priya and Children policy.  He said that the minimum and maximum age limit of the postal life insurance scheme is fixed for 19 years and 55 years respectively whereas maximum age limit for 15 years and 20 years Sumangal scheme are prescribed for 45 and 40 years respectively.

Discussing the benefits of the postal life insurance Director Postal Services Mr. Krishna Kumar Yadav told that Government is bound for 100% security of investor's investment, relaxation in income tax under section 88, low premium and high bonus, loan benefit on the policies, deposit of premium at any post office in the country and rebate of 1% & 2% on advance premium of 6 months and 12 months respectively.

Director Mr. Krishna Kumar Yadav told that Allahabad Region has done business in insurance of more than one billion in this financial year, which includes 53 crore in Postal Life insurance and 48 crores in Rural Postal Life Insurance.  Mr. Yadav further added that to insured more people, 15 villages are being selected in each division to cover under Rural Postal Life Insurance, where as for urban area important Government department to be covered under Postal Life insurance Sangathan.

’राष्ट्रीय डाक सप्ताह’ के तहत डाक जीवन बीमा दिवस का आयोजन

भारतीय डाक विभाग द्वारा राष्ट्रीय डाक सप्ताह के तहत 15 अक्टूबर 2013 को ”डाक जीवन बीमा दिवस” के रूप में मनाया गया। इस दौरान इलाहाबाद परिक्षेत्र के अंतर्गत विभिन्न महत्वपूर्ण सरकारी/अर्द्धसरकारी कार्यालयों में डाक जीवन बीमा मेले का आयोजन किया गया, जिसमें लोगों  को इसके बारे में जागरूक किया गया और लोगों का बीमा भी किया गया। 

  इस अवसर पर श्री कृष्ण कुमार यादव, निदेशक डाक सेवायें, इलाहाबाद परिक्षेत्र ने बताया कि डाक विभाग पत्रों के वितरण के साथ-साथ जीवन बीमा के क्षेत्र में भी एक लम्बे समय से कार्यरत रहा है। 1 फरवरी 1884 को आरंभ डाक जीवन बीमा के तहत वर्तमान में केन्द्र व राज्य सरकारों के कर्मचारी, रक्षा कर्मी, सरकारी निकाय द्वारा स्थापित संस्थाओं, सरकार द्वारा स्थापित विश्वविद्यालयों के कर्मचारी, राष्ट्रीयकृत बैंक, एसबीआई की सहायक इकाइयों व रिजर्व बैंक कर्मचारी, केंन्द्र व राज्य सरकारी के अधीन संचालित इकाइयों, निगमों व बोर्डों के कर्मी, यूटीआई, आई डीबीआई जैसे सरकारी नियंत्रण वाले वित्तीय संस्थानों के कर्मी, राज्य बीमा निगम के कर्मचारी पात्र हैं। श्री यादव ने बताया कि ”डाक जीवन बीमा” में 6 योजनायें-सुरक्षा, संतोष, सुविधा, युगल सुरक्षा, सुमंगल व चिल्ड्रेन  पालिसी हैं एवं ग्रामीण अंचल में निवास करने वाले निवासियों के लिए ”ग्रामीण डाक जीवन बीमा” के अंतर्गत-ग्राम संतोष, ग्राम सुरक्षा, ग्राम सुविधा, ग्राम सुमंगल, ग्राम प्रिया, एवं चिल्ड्रेन  पालिसी है। उन्होंने आगे बताया कि  बीमा प्रस्तावक की आयु सीमा 19 वर्ष से 55 वर्ष की नियत है, जो कि 15 वर्षीय एवं 20 वर्षीय सुमंगल योजना के लिए अधिकतम सीमा क्रमशः 45 वर्ष एवं 40 वर्ष है। 

डाक जीवन बीमा के अन्तर्गत लाभों की चर्चा करते हुए डाक निदेशक श्री कृष्ण कुमार यादव ने कहा कि निवेश की सुरक्षा पर सरकार की गांरटी, धारा 88 के तहत आयकर में छूट, कम प्रीमियम और अधिक बोनस, पालिसी पर लोन की सुविधा, देश के किसी भी डाकघर में प्रीमियम जमा करने की सुविधा और 6 महीने के अग्रिम प्रीमियम पर 1 फीसदी की छूट, 12 माह अग्रिम जमा पर 2 फीसदी की छूट दी जाती है। विशेष रूप से उल्लेखनीय है कि जमा प्रीमियम पर किसी तरह का किसी प्रकार के एजेन्ट कमीशन का भार प्रस्तावक पर नहीं पड़ता है। 

डाक निदेशक श्री कृष्ण कुमार यादव ने बताया कि इस वित्तीय वर्ष में इलाहाबाद परिक्षेत्र में 1 अरब से ज्यादा का बीमा व्यवसाय हो चुका है, इसमें डाक जीवन बीमा के तहत 53 करोड एवं ग्रामीण डाक जीवन बीमा के तहत 48 करोड से ज्यादा का व्यवसाय हुआ है। श्री यादव ने कहा कि अधिकाधिक लोगो को बीमित करने हेतु हर डाक मण्डल में 15 गाँवों  को चयनित करके उन्हें ग्रामीण डाक जीवन बीमा ग्राम के रूप में कवर किया जा रहा है वही शहरों में प्रमुख सरकारी विभागों को डाक जीवन बीमा संगठन के तहत लाने की योजना है।

Postage Stamps help in enriching and strengthening education system – KK Yadav

“Philately day’’ was celebrated by Postal Dept. as a part of National Postal Week on 12 ^th Oct 2013. On this occasion various programmes were held at Allahabad and Varanasi , including Philatelic workshop, letter writing competition, Panting competition, and quiz competition for students to promote philately.

On this occasion Mr. Krishna Kumar Yadav, Director Postal Services, said that philately is not the only collection of stamps but it is also includes study of stamps.  He said that every stamp has a story of their own and there is a need to link young generation with this story. He called Postage Stamps are “Carrier of emotions”, which carries emotions from one person to another.

Mr. Krishna Kumar Yadav, Director Postal Services, Allahabad Region told that generally Postage Stamps may look like a small piece of paper but there value and importance is much more. In fact Postage Stamp is a tiny ambassador, which travels across countries and teaches them about his country’s civilization, culture and heritage. It is anicon of a country’s people, their belief and philosophy, history, culture, heritage, ambitions and expectations. It is filled with enchanting vitality.

On this occasion Mr.Yadav also told about interesting story about a European woman of 19^th century who had an idea to decorate her dressing room with Postage Stamps, she collected sixteen thousand stamps from her acquaintances and for remaining she released an advertisement in “Times of London” and requested the readers to send used postage stamps to complete her collection. Thereafter collecting of stamps gained popularity as a hobby in the whole world in due course of time.

Mr. Yadav urged to School and Students to open Philatelic Deposit Account in Post Offices to get Stamps at their door step evey month. He said that knowledge may also be acquired through Postage Stamps. Postage Stamps may also help in enriching and strengthening our education system.

भारतीय डाक विभाग द्वारा राष्ट्रीय डाक सप्ताह के तहत 12 अक्टूबर 2013 को फिलेटली दिवस के रूप में मनाया गया। इसका उद्देश्य इसका उद्देश्य डाक -टिकट संग्रह  के प्रति लोगों में अभिरूचि विकसित करना और डाक टिकटों के माध्यम से युवा पीढी को डाक सेवाओं के इतिहास से जोडना था।

फिलेटली दिवस पर इलाहाबाद परिक्षेत्र के निदेशक डाक सेवाएं  कृष्ण कुमार यादव ने डाक-टिकटों के संग्रह की दिलचस्प कहानी के बारे में बताया कि उन्नीसवीं शताब्दी के मध्य में यूरोप में एक अंग्रेज महिला को अपने श्रृंगार-कक्ष की दीवारों को डाक टिकटों से सजाने की सूझी और इस हेतु उसने सोलह हजार डाक-टिकट परिचितों से एकत्र किए और शेष हेतु सन् 1841 में ‘टाइम्स आफ लंदन’ समाचार पत्र में विज्ञापन देकर पाठकों से इस्तेमाल किए जा चुके डाक टिकटों को भेजने की प्रार्थना की। इसके बाद धीमे-धीमे पूरे विश्व में डाक-टिकटों का संग्रह एक शौक के रूप में परवान चढ़ता गया। 

निदेशक डाक सेवाएं कृष्ण कुमार यादव ने कहा कि हर डाक टिकट की अपनी एक कहानी है और इस कहानी को वर्तमान पीढ़ी के साथ जोड़ने की जरुरत है। उन्होंने डाक टिकटों को संवेदना का संवाहक बताया, जो पत्र के माध्यम से भावनाओं को एक व्यक्ति से दूसरे व्यक्ति तक पहुंचाते हैं। उन्होंने कहा कि सामान्यतः डाक टिकट एक छोटा सा कागज का टुकड़ा दिखता है, पर इसका महत्व और कीमत दोनों ही इससे काफी ज्यादा है । डाक टिकट वास्तव में एक नन्हा राजदूत है, जो विभिन्न देशों का भ्रमण करता है एवम् उन्हें अपनी सभ्यता, संस्कृति और विरासत से अवगत कराता है। 

डाक निदेशक श्री कृष्ण कुमार यादव ने ने डाक टिकटों से युवाओं को जोडते हुए कहा कि डाक टिकटों के द्वारा ज्ञान भी अर्जित किया जा सकता है। यह हमारी शिक्षा प्रणाली को और भी मजबूत बना सकते हैं। लोगों को घर बैठे डाक-टिकटों के संग्रह से जोडने हेतु डाक विभाग ने फिलेटलिक डिपाजिट एकाउण्ट योजना भी आरम्भ की है, जिसके तहत यूनतम 200 रूपये से फिलेटलिक डिपाजिट एकाउण्ट‘‘ खोला जा सकता है और हर माह घर बैठे डाक टिकटें प्राप्त होती रहेंगी।  

इस अवसर पर बच्चों हेतु फिलेटलिक  वर्कशाप, पत्र लेखन प्रतियोगिता, पेंटिंग प्रतियोगिता और क्विज प्रतियोगिता का भी आयोजन किया गया। बच्चों ने जहाँ फिलेटलिक ब्यूरो में तमाम नए-पुराने डाक टिकटों को देखकर आनंद लिया वही तमाम ने खोलकर इससे हमेशा के लिए भी अपने को जोड  लिया।

'राष्ट्रीय डाक सप्ताह' के तहत डाकघरों में मना 'बचत दिवस'

भारतीय डाक विभाग द्वारा राष्ट्रीय डाक सप्ताह के तहत 10 अक्टूबर 2013 को बचत बैंक दिवस के रूप में मनाया गया। इसका उद्देश्य डाक विभाग की बचत योजनाओं के संबंध में लोगों को जागरूक करना एवं अधिकाधिक खाते खोल कर अधिकतम लोगों तक अपनी भागीदारी सुनिश्चित करना रहा। इस संबंध में इलाहाबाद परिक्षेत्र के निदेशक डाक सेवाएं श्री कृष्ण कुमार यादव ने बताया कि नेटवर्क की दृष्टि से डाकघर बचत बैंक देश का सबसे बड़ा रीटेल बैंक है। डाकघरों में निवेश की तमाम योजनायें हैं, जिनमें बचत खाता, आवर्ती जमा, सावधि जमा, मासिक आय योजना, पी.पी.एफ., सीनियर सिटीजन सेविंग स्कीम एवं राष्ट्रीय बचत पत्र में निवेश किया जा सकता है। श्री यादव ने कहा कि डाक विभाग का उद्देश्य समावेशी विकास के तहत शहरों के साथ-साथ सुदूर ग्रामीण अंचल स्थित लोगों को भी डाक बचत योजनाओं के तहत लाना है। इसके तहत तमाम गांवों को बचत बैंक ग्राम के तहत भी आच्छादित किया जा रहा है। ग्रामीण स्तर पर डाकघरों में मनरेगा एवं बी0 पी0 एल0 से सम्बन्धित खाते भी खोले जा रहे हैं । 

डाक निदेशक श्री कृष्ण कुमार यादव ने कहा कि आने वाले दिनों में डाकघरों को भी कोर बैंकिंग  सोल्यूशन (सी.बी.एस.) से जोड़ा जा रहा है, जिससे ग्रामीण स्तर पर भी बैंकिंग क्षेत्रों में क्रान्तिकारी कदम का सूत्रपात होगा और डाकघरों के खाताधारक नेट बैंकिंग, मोबाइल बैंकिंग एवं ए0टी0एम0 सुविधाओं का लाभ उठा सकेंगे।

निदेशक डाक सेवाएं कृष्ण कुमार यादव ने बताया कि वर्तमान में इलाहाबाद डाक परिक्षेत्र में साढ़े 36 लाख से अधिक खाते डाकघरों में चल रहे हैं । इनमें सितम्बर माह में अकेले 1 लाख 17 हजार नये खाते खोले गये। गौरतलब है कि डाकघर में बचत योजना में 4 प्रतिशत, आवर्ती जमा खाता में 8.30 प्रतिशत, मासिक आय योजना में 8.5 प्रतिशत, पी.पी.एफ. में 8.70 प्रतिशत और सावधि जमा योजना में 1 व 2 वर्षीय पर 8.2 प्रतिशत, 3 वर्षीय पर 8.3 प्रतिशत, 5 वर्षीय पर 8.40 ब्याज मिलता है। इसी प्रकार सीनियर सिटीजन सेविंग स्कीम में 9.20 प्रतिशत ब्याज है। 5 वर्षीय राष्ट्रीय बचत पत्र पर 8.50 प्रतिशत व 10 वर्षीय राष्ट्रीय बचत पत्र पर 8.80 प्रतिशत ब्याज देय है।

Prayag, a pioneer in Postal services

ALLAHABAD: World Post Day is celebrated across the world on October 9. Today, in the times of e-mails, SMS and apps, letters continue to hold a place of are still there in the minds of people. A lot of us may not be aware, but Allahabad is credited with many firsts in the world of postal services. The first air mail, railway mail and other postal services all started from Allahabad. 

Sharing the details with TOI, director Postal Services, Allahabad region Krishna Kumar Yadav said being strategically important, British emphasised development of postal services in Allahabad. World's first air mail was started in Allahabad on 18 February, 1911 in Allahabad. The plane carrying about 6,500 letters took-off from the Polo Ground of Allahabad and after a flight of 13 minutes landed on a ground near Naini Railway Station. These postal articles were then dispatched further using other modes of transport. Yadav said as per records, Colonel Windham contacted postal officer sent some articles through Air Mail for the first time, and the then chief of posts gladly accorded his permission for it. 

On the mail bag carrying first Air Mail, 'First Aerial Mail' and 'Uttar Pradesh Exhibition, Allahabad' was written. There was a restriction on weight of letters and only 6,500 carefully sorted letters were allowed for transport. The flight which lasted for only 13 minutes created a history. Letters carried through the first Air Mail were addressed to people across the world, out of which one letter was sent to Jawaharlal Nehruby his father Motilal Nehru. Many British officers wrote letters to King George V. A special postage stamp was also created for that day. 

Yadav claimed that Railway Mail Service (RMS) is also said to be started in Allahabad. After the beginning of Railways in 1853, a Railway Sorting Section was started between Allahabad Kanpur route, for the first time in India on May 1, 1864, which eventually emerged as Railway Mail Service. 

Yadav, who has also authored a research-based book on India Post named "India Post: 150 Glorious Years" said right after the release of World's first postage stamp in Britain on May 6, 1840, next year in 1841 a horse-cart mail service was started between Allahabad and Kanpur. A rich merchant of Allahabad Lala Thanthimal, whose business was spread up to Kanpur, is credited with launch of this horse-cart mail service, Britishers also used to trust him. After construction of Grand Trunk Road, mail was carried by this road through palanquin and horse cart, in which a horse used to travel 7 kilometers. Freight was to be paid immediately at the rate of one paisa per half tola. From Allahabad to Bithoor, 'daak' was transported through Ganga river. 'Daak Harakkaras' used to travel through forests, so as a measure of their security, they used to carry a bell with a spear for protection. In 1850, Lala Thanthimal founded Inland Transit Company in association with some British nationals, and after Allahabad, he started horse-cart service between Kanpur and Kolkata. In coming years, the service was extended to cities like Meerut, Delhi, Agra, Lucknow, Banaras etc. Being situated at the center of all these cities, role of Allahabad was very important. As such, Lala Thanthimal is credited with starting the first company of postal system in India. In 1854, with integration of postal services as a department, Inland Transit Company too merged with it.

भारतीय डाक विभाग द्वारा विश्व डाक दिवस (9 अक्तूबर 2013 ) पर सिविल लाइन्स स्थित इलाहाबाद प्रधान डाकघर में एक कार्यक्रम आयोजित किया गया। कार्यक्रम में मुख्य अतिथि के रूप में श्री एम. ई. हक, पोस्टमास्टर जनरल और कार्यक्रम की अध्यक्षता श्री कृष्ण कुमार यादव, निदेशक डाक सेवायें, इलाहाबाद परिक्षेत्र ने किया। कार्यक्रम में जहाँ तमाम डाक सेवाओं के बारे में विस्तार से बताया गया वहीं वरिष्ठ पेंशनर्स एवं उत्कृष्ट कार्य करने वाले अधिकारियों व कर्मचारियों को सम्मानित किया गया।  

इस अवसर पर पोस्टमास्टर जनरल श्री एम. ई. हक ने अपने संबोधन में यूनिवर्सल पोस्टल यूनियन की कार्य प्रणाली पर प्रकाश डाला एवं डाककर्मियों से अपने कार्य के प्रति ज्यादा प्रतिबद्ध होने की बात कहीं। उन्होंने कहा कि डाक विभाग एक बहुत बड़ा संगठन है और लोगों के साथ संवाद स्थापित करके एवं उन्हें सेवाओं के बारे में जानकारी देकर अधिकाधिक राजस्व अर्जन किया जा सकता है।

अध्यक्षता कर रहे निदेशक डाक सेवायें श्री कृष्ण कुमार यादव ने कहा कि डाक सेवाओं का इतिहास  सभ्यता, संस्कृति और अर्थव्यवस्था से अभिन्न रूप से जुड़ा हुआ है। सुख-दुख हर पल में लोगों की थाह लेने वाला डाक विभाग पूरब से पश्चिम तक और उत्तर से दक्षिण तक समूचे भारत की संचार व्यवस्था को एक डोरी में बाँधता है। भारतीय डाक ने सदियों की करवटें देखी हैं और न जाने इसके आगोश में इतिहास के कितने पहलू छुपे हुये हैं। श्री यादव ने कहा कि डाक सेवाओं के क्षेत्र में इलाहाबाद का महत्वपूर्ण स्थान है। यहीं से तमाम डाक सेवाओं की शुरूआत हुयी और आज भी धरोहर के रूप में तमाम बातों को यह सहेजे हुये है। 

इस अवसर पर विभिन्न क्षेत्रों में उत्कृष्ट कार्य करने वाले डाककर्मियों को सम्मानित किया गया। इनमें डाक जीवन बीमा में सर्वश्री विनय कुमार यादव, सहायक डाक अधीक्षक (दक्षिणी), ए. के. सिंह उपमंडलीय निरीक्षक (उत्तरी) एवं सी एल मिश्रा उपडाकपाल दारागंज, ग्रामीण डाक जीवन बीमा हेतु राम चंद्र शुक्ला पोस्टमैन मेजा, व्यवसाय विकास हेतु रजनीश श्रीवास्तव माकेर्टिंग एक्जीक्यूटिव, पोस्टमैन संवर्ग में विद्याभूषण पांडेय इलाहाबाद सिटी को उत्कृष्ट कार्यों हेतु सम्मानित किया गया। इसके अलावा डाक विभाग ने वरिष्ठतम पेंशनरों सर्वश्री राधेश्याम श्रीवास्तव, राम सुख शुक्ला, अमृत लाल, विद्याधर मालवीय को भी सम्मानित किया।

Allahabad holds important place in Postal Services- Krishna Kumar Yadav

A programme was organized by Postal Department on the occasion of World Post Day in Allahabad Head Post Office located at Civil Lines. The programme was held under the chairmanship of Mr. Krishna Kumar Yadav, Director Postal Services, Allahabad Region, whereas the chief guest of the programme was Mr. M. E. Haque, Postmaster General, Allahabad Region. Detailed information about a number of postal services was provided in this programme, along with felicitation of pensioners and postal officers and employees, for their excellent performance.

On this occasion, Postmaster General Allahabad Mr. M. E. Haque, explained about the working of Universal Postal Union, in his address. He also urged the postal officials to be more dedicated about their work. He said that Department of Posts is a huge organization and more revenue may be earned by establishing dialogue with people and educating them about the products and services of Postal Department. 

Presiding over as Chairman of the programme Director Postal Services, Mr. Krishna Kumar Yadav said that the history of Postal Services is linked with culture, heritage and economy of the Indian people. Postal Department links the whole country from east to west and north to south in a chain of communication, and comes to the aid of people in their happiness and sorrows. Postal Department has out lasted centuries and a number of unknown aspects of history are hidden in its glorious past. Mr. Yadav said that Allahabad holds an important place in Postal Services. A number of Postal Services were started in Allahabad and it has still preserved these heritage. 

On this occasion, postal employees were felicitated for their outstanding performance in various fields. Which include, Mr. Vinay Yadav, Assistant Superintendent of Post Offices (South); A. K. Singh, Sub- Divisional Inspector (North) and C. L. Mishra, Sub Postmaster, Daraganj for Postal Life Insurance; Ram Chandra Shukla, Postman, Meja for Rural Postal Life Insurance; Rajnish Srivastava, Marketing Executive for Business Development; Vidhya Bhusan Pandey, Postman, Allahabad City for excellent performance. Other than above, Postal Department also felicitated senior pensioners Mr. Radheyshyam Srivastava, Ram Sukh Shukla, Amrit Lal and Vidydhar Malviya. 

Mr. Rahmatullah, Senior Superintendent of Post Offices, Allahabad, welcomed the guests and Mr. Madhusudan Prasad Mishra, Senior Postmaster gave vote of thanks. Proceeding of the programme were conducted by Mr. A. K. Singh, Inspector of Post Offices.
